BACKGROUND:Studies have found that after stimulation, chemerin can further amplify the inflammatory signal, resulting in the release of inflammatory factors and matrix metaloproteinases. It indicates that chemerin may serve as an important regulator of cartilage metabolism, and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis. OBJECTIVE: To explore the correlation between level of chemerin in synovia and serum and severity of knee osteoarthritis. METHODS: Eighty patients with knee osteoarthritis were enroled in the study. Knee osteoarthritis grading was evaluated according to the Kelgren-Lawrence classification. Chemerin levels in synovia and serum were examined with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The level of chemerin in synovia and serum in patients with knee osteoarthritis were positively correlated with the Kelgren-Lawrence classification (r=0.981,P< 0.001;r=0.901,P < 0.001). And there was a positive correlation between the level of chemerin in synovia and in serum (r=0.596,P < 0.01). Experimental findings suggest that the levels of chemerin in synovial fluid and serum that are positively correlated with the Kelgren-Lawrence classification can be used as a reference biomarker of severity of knee osteoarthritis.

Objective To improve the preoperative diagnosis accuracy of cerebellopontine angle tumors through analyzing MRI findings. Methods Ninety-six cases with cerebellopontine angle tumors, confirmed by pathology and surgery, were collected and underwent MRI scan plus enhanced MRI. Among the 96 capes, we observed acoustic neurinoma in 55 cases, meningioma in 20 cases, cholesteatoma in 9 cases, trigeminal neuroma in 7 cases,cavernous hemangioma in 3 cases,arachnoid cyst in 2 cases. The MRI characteristics of all cases were analyzed retrospectively. Results The chief type of tumor happened in the cerebellopontine angle zone was acoustic neurinoma,followed in order by meningioma,cholesteatoma,trigeminal neuroma,cavernous hemangioma and arachnoid cyst. The accuracy of preoperative localization and qualitative diagnosis were 100% and 94.7%respectively.Conclusion MRI has a high value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cerebellopontine angle tumors,which can be used as a preferred preoperative examination method in cerebellopontine angle tumors.

Objective To investigate the effects and significance of neuronavigation and electrocorticography monitoring in resection of eloquent brain glioma. Methods Thirty-six cases with intracranial tumors accepted microneurosurgery resection under neuronavigation and electrocorticography monitoring. The clinical data and postoperative outcome were analyzed. Results The mean registration error was (2.0 ±0. 5)mm in all operations and all skin flaps and bone windows designed by neuronavigation could fit the operation demands. Total resectin of the tumor was achieved in 31 cases and subtotal resection in 5 cases. Neurological symptoms improved and no severe complications or death happened in all patients. Conclusion Neuronavigation combined with electrocorticography monitoring can accurately locate the eloquent glioma and retrieve the brain shift. This method is a real-time technique and has functional test ability. It can improve the total removal rate and decrease the mortality and disabled rate.

This article was to study the micro-leakage of 3 different root canal sealers (Endomethasone, AH-Plus and GuttaFlow) by fluid filtration test, and to observe the micro-structure between walls of root canal and the sealers by SEM. The results indicated that the micro-leakage of GuttaFlow was the least and Endomethasone was the most. Statistics difference were found between all the groups. Different root canal sealer got different micro-structure between walls of root canal and sealers. So we consider that the canal sealing ability of GuttaFlow is the best among these sealers.

Objective To explore.the effect of operative treatment for more than 70-year-old patients with osteoporotic hip fracture,and analyze the clinical feature,perioperative management and choices of operative treatment.Methods One hundred and fifty-nine patients of more than 70-year-old with osteoporotic hip fracture were operated from June 2007 to October 2010.Fracture type:38 cases with intertrochanteric fracture while femoral neck fracture in 121 cases.Results One hundred and thirty-five cases were followed up after operation ranging from 3 to 43 months.There were 2 cases by proximal femur nail internal fixation,13 cases by proximal femur locked plate internal fixation,15 cases by dynamic hip screwinternal fixation,48 cases by bipolar femoral head arthroplasty and 57 cases by total hip arthroplasty.The Harris scores of various surgical method above respectively were 100.0％ (2/2),76.9％ ( 10/13 ),80.0％(12/15),89.6％ (43/48),96.5％ (55/57).Conclusions The operation plays an important role in the treatment of elderly osteoporotic hip fracture,having so many advantages as earlier mobilization,less complications and better life quality.But it is important to pay attention to perioperative management and choose reasonable surgical approach according to classification of fracture.
