Objective To observe the serum lipid level of patients with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO).Methods A total of 71 BRVO patients (BRVO group) were enrolled in this study.The patients included 31 males and 40 females,with an average age of (52.75 ± 10.2) years.All the patients were examined for visual acuity,slit lamp ophthalmoscopy combine with preset lens,fundus color photography and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) examination.Seventy-two age-and sex-matched normal subjects were enrolled in this study as control group.The subjects included 32 males and 40 females,with an average age of (53.10±9.5) years.The BRVO and control group were divided into four subgroup which including age with ＜40 years,40-49 years,50-59 years and ≥60 years.The plasma cholesterol and triglyceride level of BRVO group,control group,and age subgroups of BRVO and control group were comparatively analyzed.Results The average plasma cholesterol levels were (4.529±0.100) and (4.274±0.106) mmol/L in BRVO and control group,respectively.There was no difference between two groups (t=-1.738,P＞0.05).The average triglyceride levels were (1.500±0.129) and (1.319±0.095) mmol/L in BRVO and control group,respectively.There was no difference between two groups (t=-1.135,P＞0.05).There was no difference of average plasma cholesterol (t=-1.755,1.850,-1.892,-0.507) and triglyceride (t=0.846,-0.074,-1.288,-1.887) level in age subgroups of BRVO and control subgroup (P＞0.05).Conclusion There is no significant difference of serum lipid level between BRVO patients and controls.

Objective To compare the effects and cost of peripheral intravenous catheter (PIV) and peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) on very low birth weight infants (VLBWI).Methods From July 2013 to August 2015,95 VLBWI with PICC (PICC group) and 90 VLBWI with PIV (PIV group) admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Changzhi Maternal and Child Care Hospital were included in the analysis.The two groups were compared in body mass increase,average length of hospital stay,incidence of catheter-related complications,and care cost and effect.Results The body mass increase per weak was higher in the PICC group than in the PIV group,with statistically significant difference (P ＜ 0.05).The average length of hospital stay in the PICC group was shorter than that in the PIV group [(48.2 ± 5.2) d vs.(53.2 ± 8.1) d,P ＜ 0.05].The incidence of catheter-related complications was lower in the PICC group than in the PIV group (35.4％ vs.44.9％),including phlebitis (PICC group,21 person-times;PIV group,169 person-times),liquid leakage or exosmose (PICC group,2 person-times;PIV group,185 person-times),and catheter prolapse (PICC group,3 person-times;PIV group,145 person-times) with statistically significant differences (all P ＜ 0.05),and catheter blockage (PICC group,7 person-times;PIV group,84 person-times) and other complications such as venous embolism and infection (PICC group,1 person-time;PIV group,3 person-times) with no statistically significant differences (all P ＞ 0.05).The average monthly cost in the PICC group (1 951.5 yuan) was lower than that in the PIV group (2 008.5 yuan),and the cost of single insertion in the PICC group (1 691.5 yuan) was higher than that in the PIV group (129.9 yuan),the cost-effectiveness was better in the PICC group than in the PIV group (30.22 vs.36.45).Conclusions For VLBWI,PICC can reduce the times of venous puncture,the incidence of complications,and promote body mass increase.However,the monthly cost was similar between the two groups in this study,possibly because of the short-time of this study.The advantages in cost-effectiveness of PICC may become more prominent when the catheter dwelling time extends.

Objective To evaluate the imaging characteristic and the value of application of breath hold two dimensional fast imaging employing steady state acquisition(FIFSTA) sequence, for aortic dissection(AD) magnetic resonance many time phases imaging. Methods To analyze retrospectively the manifestation of 5 cases with aortie dissection diagnosed, Bakey type Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ, in 1, 1 and 3, all were examined using ECG triggered, two dimensional FIESTA sequence during end-expiratory breath hold. Scan with the long axes of aortic position(oblique position parallel with aortic arch) and transitional position. The results were analyzed by the soft of workstation AW4.2. Results The display rate of the true lumen and the false lumen of AD were 100% ,the display rate of membrane in aorta was 100% ,4 cases showed the hole of intimal tear,2 cases with thrombus,2 cases with aortic regurgitation,2 cases with ejecting in the hole of intimal tear. Conclusion Need not any contrast media, quickly acquired imaging, high contrast to noise ratio, least artifact,and especially show membrane in aorta and for the hole of intimal tear of aortic dissection(AD) magnetic resonance many time phases imaging with two dimensional FIESTA sequence.

Objective To observe the effect of RNAi that silences MTA1 gene on invasion and migration of esophageal carcinoma 9706 cells. Methods The siRNA expression vector that silences MTA1 gene was transfected into EC9706 cells by liposome. MTA1 mRNA and protein expressions were detected through quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. Objective To establish human lung adenocarcinoma multidrug resistance cell lines in vitro,observe their biological characteristics,and investigate the mRNA expressions of DNA pol?,mdr 1,mrp1,GST-?,lrp and topo Ⅱ genes.Methods Paclitaxel-resistant cell lines(A549/TXL20) were established in vitro by exposure to stepwise increased concentrations of the drug in a cell culture medium.Biological morphology and cell cycles were analyzed by morphometry and flow cytometry.The chemoresistance indexes of cells were measured by methyl tetrazolium assay.Evaluation of growth and in vitro drug sensitivity were performed.RT-PCR was employed to analyze the mRNA expressions of the DNA pol?,mdr 1,mrp1,GST-?,lrp,and topo Ⅱ genes.Results ① Compared with parent cells,the resistant sublines had a lower confluent density.They were smaller and mixed with giant cells in different sizes and with different numbers of nucleoli,and the growth property of A549/TXL20 did not change significantly compared with A549 cell lines.② The resistant cells,A549/TXL20,were 19.3 times more resistant to paclitaxel and 67.4 times more resistant to cisplatin than the parent cells,and also demonstrated cross-resistance to mitomycin,vinblastine,and 5-fluouracil(5-FU). ③ Compared with the A549 celllines,an unreasonably higher level of drug resistance and lower drug concentration was detected in A549/TXL20 cells after exposure to the drug in the culture medium.④ The mRNA expression level of DNA pol?,mdr1,GST-?,mrp1 andlrp genes in A549/TXL20 cells was significantly higher than that in A549 cell lines(P

Aim To explore the effects of acupuncture and sinomenine on the withdrawal symptoms,on the spontaneous discharge and synaptophysin expression of amygdala of heroin-addicted rats.Methods 75 SD rats were randomly and equally divided into 5 groups consisted of control,heroin-addicted,acupuncture,sinomenine and combined treatment group.The model of heroin-addicted rats were established with heroin subcutaneous injection,which in acupuncture,sinomenine and combined group were subsequently punctured at 3 acupoint(Neiguan,Baihui and Zusanli),intramuscular injected with sinomenine and treated with combined methods(acupuncture and sinomenine)respectively.The withdrawal symptoms of rats in different group were evaluated,and then the spontaneous discharges and synaptophysin expression of amygdala were detected with electrophysiological and immunohistochemical technology respectively.Results The heroin-addicted rats were successfully established,being suggested by typical withdrawal symptoms induced by naloxone(P<0.01 vs control),which were alleviated in the 3 treatment groups(acupuncture,sinomenine and combined ) with varying degree(P<0.01 vs heroin group).The electrophysiological results suggest that the forms of low-frequency and single irregular discharges in amygdala were increase,bunchy/cluster and complex discharges were decreased(P<0.05 vs control),which were reversed apparently in sinomenine and combined treatment groups(P<0.05 vs heroin group),closed to control.The immunohistochemical results show that expression of synaptophysin in amygdala was increased obviously(P<0.01 vs control),which was decreased in the 3 treatment groups(acupuncture,sinomenine and combined),P<0.01 vs addicted group.Conclusion Treatments of acupuncture and sinomenine administration can alleviate withdrawal symptoms of heroin-addicted,and rectify the abnormal spontaneous discharges and expression of synaptophysin in amygdala of heroin-addicted rats for certain degree,especially with combined treatments.

Objective:To investigate the influence of different decoction containers on the chemical components in Fufang Baidu decoctions to provide scientific evidence for the establishment of rational decoction method for traditional Chinese medicine decoctions. Methods:The method of UPLC was adopted to study the influence of different decoction containers on the content of astilbin, forsytho-side A and forsythoside in Fufang Baidu decoctions. Results:With the different containers, the content change regularity was as fol-lows:porcelain pot >stainless steel pot> decocting machine of Chinese herbs> earthen pot> glass pot. Conclusion:Decocting ma-chine for Chinese herbs can be an substitute for traditional boiling utensils.

AIM: To construct a mouse IFN-? expression vector and observe the antitumor effects of mouse peritoneal macrophages transfected with IFN-? in vivo and in vitro. METHODS: The IFN-? mRNA was amplified by RT-PCR. The open reading frame of mouse IFN-? gene was recombinanted with eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA3.1 through subcloning. Mouse peritoneal macrophages were transfected with recombinant vector pcDNA3.1-IFN-?. The expression of INF-? mRNA was measured by RT-PCR. Another group of peritoneal macrophages were cultured with the culture medium from pcDNA3.1-IFN-? transfecting groups, and its antitumor effect was measured by MTT. pcDNA3.1-IFN-? plasmid was peritoneally injected inte mouse with tumor. The appearance of ascites of pcDNA3.1-IFN-? plasmid injected mice and survival time were observed. RESULTS: The mouse IFN-? expression vector pcDNA3.1-IFN-? was constructed. The sequence was demonstrated to be the same as on GenBank. The recombinant vector was introduced into mouse peritoneal macrophages. IFN-? mRNA was detected by RT-PCR. The supernatant from cultured macrophages transfected with pcDNA3.1-IFN-? plasmid stimulated the antitumor effects of the macrophages without transfection. The appearance of ascites in pcDNA3.1-IFN-? plasmid injected mouse was delayed and survival time was longer than that in other groups. CONCLUSION: We have successfully constructed the mouse IFN-? expression vector pcDNA3.1-IFN-?. Mouse peritoneal macrophages transfected with pcDNA3.1-IFN-? have antitumor effects in vivo and in vitro.

Objective To study the effect of gene engineering adenovirus H101 for treating esophagus carcinoma EC9706 induced by CEA gene specific silencing and to explore internal influential factor of H101 sensitivity. Methods To construct the siRNA expression vector of CEA and to inhibit the expression of CEA through RNA interference and gene transfection in EC9706 cell,stable CEA gene silencing system was set up,compared with empty vector group and non-transfected EC9706 cell,the model of athymic mouse subcutaneous transplantation tumor of human esophagus carcinoma EC9706 cell was established followed by injection with H101. The mRNA and protein expressions of CEA were detected by real time PCR and immunohistochemistry,the tumor size was measured. Results Silencing CEA gene by applying RNAi can inhibit CEA mRNA and protein expression in nude mice model with transplanted human esophageal cancer cells,there was no evident influence on tumor growth and mass oftumor. Objective To compare the postoperative complications rate of total mesorectal excision(TME) performed by laparoscopic and conventional laparotomy method in treatment of rectal cancer.Methods The clinical data of patients with rectal cancer treated by laparoscopic surgery(n=42) or traditional laparotomy(n=50) were retrospectively analysed to analysis of the cause and occurrence rate of complications.(Results) The laparoscopic group had an advantage over the conventional laparotomy group in bowel movement recovery,earlier mobility and short hospital stay time.There was no difference in intraoperative injury,(anastomotic) leakage,sexual function preservation,long-term urinary dysfunction,and local recurrence or(incision) metastasis rates.Conclusions Laparoscopic TME treatment of rectal cancer had the same therapeutic effect as the conventional laparotomy procedure did,and has a better subjective outcome.
