Objective To investigate the expression of survivin (an apoptosis inhibitor) in thyroid carcinoma and its relationship with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. Methods Sixty-eight cases of thyroid carcinoma, 12 cases of thyroid adenoma and 10 cases of normal thyroid tissue were involved. Immunohistochemistry (SABC method) was used to detect the expression of survivin, caspase-3 and VEGF, and then their relationship with the major clinicalpathologicalparametersofthyroidcarcinoma was analysed. Results No survivin was expressedinnormalthyroidtissue, butsurvivinwasweakly expressed in thyroid adenoma (16.7%) and strongly expressed in thyroid carcinoma (57.4%); caspase-3 was obviously expressed in three kinds of tissue (70.0%, 75.0%, 69.1%), and VEGF was expressed in 75.0% of thyroid carcinoma and 41.7% of thyroid adenoma. In thyroid carcinoma, survivin expression had no correlation with caspase-3 expression, but significant positive correlation existed between surviving and VEGF (r=0.302,P

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
Microvascular architecture of the oviduct was observed by SEM in 20 adult female Wistar rats which were not pregnant. The oviduct was supplied by 2-4 tubal branches (0.2-0.3mm in diameter) which were derived from the ovarian artery. The tubal branches entered the wall of oviduct and divided into numerous meandering arterioles (0.02-0.07mm in diameter). Intrinsic microvasculature of the oviduct might be divided into three layers: (1) the subserosal vascular plexus which appeared tortuous and formed reticulate anastomosis, (2) a parallel branching vasculature in the muscle coat, and (3) the subepithelial capillary network. The latter arised from the arterioles which ramified terminally near the apex of mucosal folds and broke up into very dense capillaries. Subepithelial capillary density in the fimbriae was markedly higher than that in the isthmus and uterine part. Intrinsic venules of oviduct were less tortuous and less closely accompanied with the arterioles. In mesoviduct, veins were in closely accompanied with the corresponding arteries. In the wall of oviduct, some capillaries and venules drained to the small veins directly and vertically.

Objective: To compare the efifcacy and safety of sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) and everolimus-eluting stent (EES) for treating the patients with non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS). Methods: A total of 400 NSTE-ACS patients treated in Jining Medical College Hospital from 2013-09 to 2014-09 were studied. According to different stents, the patients were divided into 2 groups: SES group,n=220 and EES group,n=180. A prospective follow-up study was conducted for 1.5 years to compare the incidence rate of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). The patients were further stratiifed by GRACE scores as Low risk group (score<109), Medium risk group (score 109-140) and High risk group (score>140). MACE free survival was studied by Kaplan-Meier curve and analyzed by Long-rank test, predictive value of GRACE for 1.5 year MACE incidence rate was examined. Results: There were 355/400 (89%) patients completed (16.7 ± 5.7) months of follow-up study including 205 in SES group and 150 in EES group. MACE occurrence rates were similar between SES group and EES group (16.10% vs 18.0%), P>0.05. By GRACE score stratiifcation, MACE rates in High risk SES group were higher than High risk EES group (48.00%vs 16.00%),P<0.05; while they were similar between Medium risk groups (14.49% vs 28.00%) and Low risk groups (9.11% vs 12.86%), allP>0.05. ROC curve indicated that the predictive value of GRACE score for 1.5 year MACE incidence was for AUC=0.762, 95% CI (1.026-1.050),P<0.001. Conclusion: Implanting of EES would be more beneifcial for NSTE-ACS patients with high GRACE risk; GRACE score has the better predictive value for their long-term prognosis.

Objective:Using lasso regression analysis to screen out the blood lipid indexes closely related to coronary heart diseaseMethods:The clinical data of 3 062 patients with coronary heart disease who were hospitalized in the Department of Cardiology, Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College from May 2013 to November 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into control group ( n=2 427) and coronary angiography group ( n=635). R language was used for statistical analysis.Multiple logistic regression models were established for indicators of blood lipid related to CAD, and their multicollinearity severity was assessed.LASSO regression was used to screen out the representative lipid parameters in the CAD prediction model. Results:A total of 3 062 patients were enrolled, including 2 427 patients in coronary heart disease group and 635 patients in control group. The inclusion of lipid parameters into multiple logistic regression model leads to serious multicollinearity.Stepwise regression can only partially reduce multicollinearity severity, while LASSO regression model significantly reduces multicollinearity severity.Low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and non-high density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) were found to be the representative lipid indexes for predicting coronary heart disease by LASSO regression analysis. Conclusion:LASSO regression has advantages in processing multicollinearity data.LASSO regression showed that LDL-C, HDL-C and non-HDL-C were representative lipid indicators for predicting coronary heart disease..

BACKGROUND:Bilateral-sagitta-split-ramus-osteotomy (BSSRO) has become a conventional method to correct facial deformities, and the finite element method is a significant way to study biomechanics of the mandible and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) after BSSRO. OBJECTIVE: To establish a precise and high simulation model of mandible containing TMJ after BSSRO with internal fixation, which is the base to study the biomechanics of the mandible and TMJ after BSSRO. METHODS: Spiral CT scan was used to get the data of DICOM that were input into MIMICS to establish the three-dimensional model of the mandible. The three-dimensional model was wrapped into a single closed shel for mesh generation and conversion in ANSYS. Then, the model was input into the ANSYS software for temporomandibular joint reconstruction and simulation of BSSRO and internal fixation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The three-dimensional finite element model of mandible containing TMJ after BSSRO was established using MIMICS and ANSYS. This model had biological similarity and geometric similarity in comparison with the human tissues. The model could undergo various internal fixations through antedisplacement, retroposition and rotational movement of the distal end. Based on different experimental purposes, the established model can apply a load to al parts to study changes in stress and displacement of different tissues after BSSRO and internal fixation, and it also can be used to study the effect of different fixation materials on the rear stability after internal fixation.
