1.Significance of comprehensive evaluation in selecting maintenance & service plan for large-scale medical equipment
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
The contrast of technical force between hospital and society is astonishing in the maintenance & service of large-scale medical equipment. When the maintenance & service plan must be chosen to socialized service, all the plans must be seriously compared and evaluated according to the current situation of the equipments in hospital for an economical and suitable selection.A right selection is necessary in promoting maintenance and management of large-scale medical equipment, keeping good operation of equipment, prolonging service life, and creating better economic and social benefits.
2.Research on correlation factors of breast cancer stem cell and breast cancer metastasis
Chinese Journal of General Surgery 1994;0(05):-
Objective To examine the expression of VEGF,MMP-1,and CXCR4 in breast cancer stem cells and its significance. Methods Flow cytometry was employed to separate breast cancer stem cells from MCF-7 cell. Then the expression of VEGF,MMP-1,and CXCR4 was detected by PCR in different subsets of cells.ResultsCompared with the non-stem cells of breast cancer, the expression of VEGF,MMP-1,and CXCR4 in breast cancer stem cells was significantly higher, but the expression of MMP-1 was not different.ConclusionsThe breast cancer stem cells could achieve increased metastasis ability by enhanced expression of VEGF and CXCR4,which are the key factors in metastasis of breast cancer.

BACKGROUND: It has been demonstrated that electromagnetic field (EMF) can adjust proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, but the specific mechanism is not clear. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of EMF-activated ERK1/2 pathway on proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.METHODS: The 3rd passage of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were received EMF treatment (15 Hz, 1 mT, sine wave), 20 μmol/L PD98059 + EMF treatment, or only PD98059 treatment. Simultaneously, a normal control group was established. Western blotting was applied to detect the activation of ERK signal pathway after EMF exposure. MTT assay was used to determine the activation of proliferation of cells. And alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity in cells was detected by an ALP kit. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The ERK1/2 phosphorylation, proliferation and ALP activity of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were remarkably increased after exposure to EMF (P < 0.01). PD98059 could effectively block the increasing of ERK1/2 phosphorylation and cell proliferation (P < 0.01), but elevate ALP activity in a certain level (P < 0.01). EMF stimulation can fast activate ERK1/2 signal pathway and then promote the proliferation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, however, ERK1/2 signal pathway activation has a less effect on osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells.

Measures were taken to reform the current teaching mode including establishing cur-riculum system which embodies medical characteristics, exploring probation mode suitable for local med-ical college, setting up students' autonomous learning platform, improving performance evaluation meth-ods,teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, etc. Meanwhile, new partnership between school and hospital was explored though improving teaching management system. After taking above measures, students' practical ability was significantly enhanced and quality of teaching was improved.

Objective To observe the effects of complex prescription with the effects of replenishing Qi, activating blood and resolving phlegm on the levels of LN and PC-Ⅲ in BALF and the changes of lung tissue and figure in rat with pulmonary fibrosis. Method The rat model of pulmonary fibrosis was established by injecting pinyamycin, then the changes of the levels of LN and PC-Ⅲ in every group (TCM group, model group and control group) in 7, 28 days respectively were observed. Result There was obvious pulmonary fibrosis morphologic change. Lung quotient increased clearly, and the levels of LN and PC-Ⅲ in BALF increased obviously in 28 days (P

Objective: To investigate the role of the recombinant S protein of SARS-CoV in the induction of chemokine IP-10 and other cytokines in airway epithelial cells and immunocytes. Methods: Using insect-baculovirus expression system and Nickel affinity Magnet Beads, S protein of SARS-CoV was produced and then used to stimulate cultured human bronchial epithelial cells (16HBE), human peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC), human peripheral blood monocytes and alveolar macrophages. The levels of IP-10 and the cytokines involved in immunoreaction in response to virus infection were detected in the supernatants of those cells cultured with the S protein by liquid chip system. Results: Under normal condition, no detectable IP-10 was found in 16HBE. A high level of IP-10(79.97? 13.81) pg/ml was detected in the 16HBE 12 hrs after being treated with the S protein, and the induction of IP-10 by S protein displayed at a significant quantity-effect reaction, but not in PBMC, monocytes and alveolar macrophages. In contrast, IFN-? was able to induce the production of IP-10 in either 16HBE or the immunocytes. Conclusion: 1.S protein of SARS-CoV can induce a high level of IP-10 in lung epithelial cells at early stage after the virus infection, which may initiate the process of the immune damage in the lung. 2. S protein of SARS-CoV induces the production of IP-10 by a way of IFN-? independent.

Objective To investigate the effects of chemokine antagonist,Met-RANTES,on the acute rejection of islet allograft in the rat model. Methods According to the different treatments, rats were divided into 2 group: control group, allogeneic islet transplant untreated;experiment group, allogeneic islet transplant treated with Met-RANTES(200 ?g/day, i.p) for 7 days post-operation.The survival time of rat of islet transplant and blood sugar were recorded, and the pathological changes of islet allograft were observed.Scintillation counter was used to count the count per min(cpm) of monocytes.Flow cytometry was used to detect the ratio of CD4~+/CD8~+ phenotypes and CCR5 expression of peripheral blood lymphocytes. Results The mean survival time of islet allograft in experiment group was(23.0)?(10.5) days, obviously longer than in the control group((3.8)?(4.5) days,P

OBJECTIVE:
To study the expression of interleukin-17 (IL-17) in nasal polyps from both atopic and nonatopic patients, and its associations with histological features of polyps tissue.
METHOD:
Thirty patients with nasal polyps (NP) were included and divided into atopic and nonatopic groups according to the skin prick test. Histological characteristics were assessed by eosinophilic infiltration with HE staining. IL-17 expression in polyps tissue was detected by ELISA and RT-PCR.
RESULT:
Eosinophilic infiltration was significantly higher in atopic NP patients than in nonatopic NP patients (P < 0.01). IL-17 protein and IL-17 mRNA levels were significantly upregulated in both atopic (P < 0.01) and nonatopic (P < 0.05) patients compared with controls. Furthermore, IL-17 levels were significantly higher in the atopic group than in nonatopic group. Significantly positive correlations were found between IL-17 levels and eosinophilic infiltration in NP patients.
CONCLUSION
These results indicated that expression of IL-17 was significantly upregulated in NP patients and was especially higher in atopic NP patients, suggesting that IL-17 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of NP and atopy may contribute to NP by stimulating the production of IL-17.
