Modern Hospital 2009;9(8):148-150
Objective To understand the situation of prevention and control knowledge and the relevant behaviors about cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease among community residents in Guangdong Province in order to provide a basis for develop cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention and control work in the future. Methods Through a randomized sampling method chose community residents participating in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases prevention and control among community residents in Guangdong Province consultation in Guangdong Province seven cities using questionnaire investigation. Results Total 1577 community residents were investigated, of which 50.4% were male, 49.6% female;the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention and control knowledge different among the population with different gender, age and region, with statistic significance;according to investigation, 17.1%, 13.5% and 14.9% of the population investigated had the habit of smoking, drinking, and salty badly respectively;50.7% of population had health protection through dietary conditioning, which was 35.4% through the physical training. Conclusion Knowledge awareness situation of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases prevention and control was poor among community residents in Guangdong Province, and risk factors of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease existed in the population;health education of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases should be strengthened to change adverse behavior of community residents, develop a healthy and scientific way of life, prevent and control the disease.

AIM: To observe the neuroprotective effect of combined treatment with taurine and diazepam against focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats. METHODS: Sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups: sham-operation group, vehicle group, taurine group (200 mg/kg, ip), diazepam group (10 mg/kg, ip) and combined treatment group (taurine 100 mg/kg+diazepam 5 mg/kg). Focal cerebral ischemia was induced by the method of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in rats, and reperfusion was emerged by removing the thread 2 h later. The drugs were administered respectively at the time of reperfusion, and subsequently repeated once 12 h later. The animals in vehicle group were intraperitoneally injected with isodose normal saline. The neurological deficit score, the brain water content and cerebral infarction were measured 48 h after MCAO. Other 5 group animals of focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (n=16 in each group) were set up as mentioned above and accepted treatments 10 h after reperfusion, likewise repeated once 12 h later. Twelve animals in each group were adopted the same management as the previous 5 groups at 48 h after MCAO. The remained 4 animals in each group were sacrificed until two weeks after MCAO to observe the histopathological changes by nissl staining. RESULTS: Compared to vehicle group, the animals in combined treatment group at 2 h or 12 h after MCAO both decreased the neurological deficit score, reduced the brain water content and infarct volume (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The combined treatment significantly alleviated the neurological necrosis as well. The neuroprotective effect of the combined treatment was superior to that of using taurine or diazepam alone. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that combination of taurine and diazepam treatment has a coordinate neuroprotective effect on both the acute and chronic brain damage of focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.

Objective To investigate the effects of angiotensin1-7 (Ang1-7) on renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis of diabetic rats. Methods Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups: normal control group, diabetic group, telmisartan group,Ang1-7-treated group. For 9 weeks after diabetes mellitus model established,24 h proteinuria, urine NAG/Cr,glucose,insulin,TG,TC,BUN,Scr,Na+ and K+ were assessed.Renal pathological changes were evaluated by PAS staining; Expression of TGF-β1,PPARγ and α-SMA mRNA was deteeted by real-time PCR; Protein levels of PPARγ,α-SMA and TGF-β1 were detected by Western blotting. Results (1)At the end of the ninth week, the blood pressure, proteinuria, renal weight/body weight in group DM were significantly higher than those in group NC (P<0.05).(2)Renal interstitial fibrosis in group DM was obviously severe as compared to group NC (P<0.05),but was improved in group TM and group T(P<0.05).(3)TGF-β1 and α-SMA mRNA in group DM were significantly increased, and PPARγ mRNA was significantly decreased.Compared with group DM,TGF-β1 and α-SMA mRNA were significantly decreased, and PPARγ mRNA was significantly increased in group TM and group T,especially in group T.(4)TGF-β1 and α-SMA in group DM were significantly increased, and PPARγ decreased significantly.Compared with group DM,TGF-β1 and α-SMA decreased significantly,PPARγ increased significantly in group TM and group T,especially in group T.Conclusion Ang1-7 inhibits high glucose-induced α-SMA expression in vivo through up-regulating the PPAR expression and may inhibit renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis of diabetic rats.

To carry out bilingual education among seven-year-program students of clinical medicine is for further raising of professional English level of the students so as to cultivate highlevel medical personnel. We put emphasis on teaching material, the ability of teachers and courseware ,adopting the form and methods to make students comprehend and memorize easily, which has raised the students’interests and ability and helped them lay a solid foundation for the study of clinical knowledge.

Objective: To establish the method for determining matrine in Sophora subprostrala Chun et T.Chen. by HPLC. Methods: A CLC-phenyl column was selected as separation column at 30 ?C . Matrine was isocratically eluted by methanol-water-triethylamine (50∶50∶0.05,v/v) at flow rate of 1.0ml?min -1 . The peak of matrine was monitored at UV 219nm. Results: The detection limit was 2ng?ml -1 . The recovery of the added sample was above 95%. RSD of intra-day and inter-day was less than 2% and 4%, respectively. The linear range was 1.0~1000?g?ml -1 . Conclusion: The method was simple, rapid and producible.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2015;14(6):549-552
The higher medical education in China starts late and needs further exploration and improvement. While in Germany,it is elite education with a long history.Compared with China,in curriculum setting,Sociology,Medical health security,Humanities and Social Sciences and Organ system classification courses are more emphasized, and in terms of degree,it only has Doctor degree but with higher quality in Germany.Higher medical education in China will also take the path of the elite education. We can learn from the German medical education development experience and pay attention to solving the lack of the curriculum by supplementing social medicine and medical health security, increase the autonomy of the instructors in the training process, strengthen the medical students' social responsibility, and improve the quality of higher medical education in China.

Objective To investigate the clinical features of 4 cases with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) complicated by chylothorax and chylous ascites. Methods Clinical manifestations, laboratory examinations, treatment and prognosis of 4 patients with SLE complicated by chylothorax and chylous ascites, who were admitted to our center in recent 13 years, were retrospectively analyzed. Results Four patients were female. The average age of SLE at presentation was 38 years (ranging from 31 to 47 years of age). The average disease duration of chylothorax and chylous ascites was 6.5 months (ranging from 3 to 12 months).Of the 4 patients,3 were complicated with chylothorax and chylous ascites, and 1 with chylothorax.Three patients were treated with corticosteroid, and 2 patients were treated combined with immuno-suppressive agents (cyclophosphamide or ciclosporin A).Chylothorax and chylous ascites improved in 1 patient. Conclusion The clinical manifesta-tions of chylothorax and chylous ascites are relatively rare in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, and more attention should be given to improve the quality of life of these patients.
