Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of intravascular balloon emolization of carotid-cavernous fistula.Materials and Methods:7 cases(5 of traumatic origin, and 2 spontaneous),undewent DSA of brain vessels showing the exact sites of fistulae.The key points of angiography in this procedure were described.Results:5 of the 7 cases complete patency of ICAs.I case resulted in occlusion of ICA,and another of type D was unsatisfactory. Conclusion:DSA of brain vessele could dipiot the site,size and type fistula.Most cases of simple carotid-cavernous fistula are of traumatic arigin and intravascular balloon embolization should be the first-choice of treatment

Objective To study the protective effect of resveratrol on endothelial cells injury induced by oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) and its protective mechanism. Methods The injured model was established by endothelial cell treated with oxLDL. In the experiment, endothelial cell were cultured in vitro and divided into seven groups which were: control group; solvent (DMSO) group, oxLDL group, quercetin plus oxLDL group, Reseveratrol-L (0.5 mol/L), M(5 mol/L), H(50 mol/L) plus oxLDL group respectively. Endothelial cells were incubated with 200?g/ml oxLDL for 18 hours in the absence or presence of various concentrations of resveratrol and quercetin. The apoptotic index was detected by flow cytometric. Meanwhile, the content of Malondialdehyde (MDA), and the activity of SOD, GSHPX in the culture medium and homogenate of endothelial cells were measured. Results Incubation of endothelial cells with oxLDL for 18 h elicited a significant increase in the percent of apoptotic endothelial cells, in control group, the percent of apoptotic cells is 7.6?0.6, however in oxLDL group, it increased to 41.4?2.3, furthermore, oxLDL induced the increase of the contents of MDA, and accompanied by the decrease in the activity of SOD, GSHPX in the endothelial cells, the difference of was significant as compared with control group. Objective To study the antitumor fraction from liquid submerged fermentation of Ganoderma sinense. Methods The antitumor active fractions were extracted from the hyphostroma which was produced by liquid submerged fermentation and their antitumor activities were observed by mice transplant tumor model. The total polysaccharides were tested by phenol-sulphuric acid method and the contents of reducing sugars were measured by DNS method. The cytotoxic activities were tested by MTT method in vitro. Results The optimum fraction was the intracellular soluble precipitation (sample B) by water extracting with alcohol sedimentation. The contents of total polysaccharide and reducing sugar in the optimum active fraction from liquid submerged fermentation of G. sinense were 88.4% and 3.15%, respectively, but no protein. The inhibitory ratios were 63.94% and 58.32% on the growth of H22 and Lewis tumor transplanted in mice by ig administration in the concentration of 40.5 mg/kg, respectively. The IC50 on four tumor cells of A549, LoVo, CEM, and QGY-7703 were 160, 29.28, 45.06, and 37.38 ?g/mL, respectively, which suggested that the active fraction had weak cytotoxic on LoVo, CEM, and QGY-7703. Conclusion The active fraction from liquid submerged fermentation of G. sinense is polysaccharide which has better inhibitory rate on the growth of H22 and Lewis tumor transplanted in mice but their cytotoxicities are weak.

Objective To investigate the new technique in curing intracranial aneurysms with GDC via intravascular catheter.Methods Thrombosis with GDC were undertaken in 11 cases of intracranial aneurysm,proved with DSA with well depiction of the ancurysms and thcir carrying arteries.Results All except one were thrombosed with only one piece of GDC each,the other one used 3 pieces.All the carrying arteries kept patent after the procedure.Conclusion Thrombosis of intracranial aneurysm with GDC via catheter is proved to be a safe,easy,time-saving and effective method in curing the disease.

Objective To explore the application value of diffusion tensor imaging and diffusion tensor tractography in the benign lesion of spinal cord.Methods 30 cases with the benign lesions of spinal cord and 10 healthy volunteers underwent MRI and DTI scanning by 1.5T MR.Results Compared with normal control group,ADC values [(1.29±0.24)×10 -3 mm2/s]of extramedullary group-Ⅰwere increased slightly,and FA values (0.46±0.06)were decreased slightly(P <0.05).In extramedullary group-Ⅱ,ADC values [(2.03±0.19)×10-3 mm2/s]were significantly increased and FA values (0.37±0.03)decreased in the lesion level (P <0.05).The ADC values [(1.71±0.24)×10 -3 mm2/s]of intramedullary group was significantly elevated,and the FA values (0.30±0.06)was obviously reduced (P <0.05 ).The fiber tracts showed the abnormality of the white matter,including compression,sparseness, grow downwards,interruption and other changes.Conclusion The changes of the FA and ADC values,diffusion tensor imaging of the bundle can quantitatively evaluate the severity of spinal cord damage and stereo display fiber bundle damage.

Objective To know the medication compliance in elderly patients with hypertension,to analyze the influence factors of medication compliance,and to propose forward intervention countermeasures.Methods The treatment of hypertension in elderly patients was investigated by questionnaire survey.Medication compliance and influence factors were analyzed.Results 166 cases with poor medication compliance,and the rate was 45.0％; 203 cases with good medication compliance,and the rate was 55.0％.It's showed significantly difference on degree of education between the observation group and control group (x2 =12.071,P=0.002).The proportion of peasant and worker was higher in the observation group than control group (78.9％ vs.62.1％,x2 =12.817,P=0.002).The smoker (48.8％) and drinker (59.0％) in observation group more than smoker (27.1％) and drinker (31.0％) in control group(x2=18.481,P＜0.001; x2=29.115,P＜ 0.001).The ratio of payout of-pocket for healthcare was higher in the observation group (21.1％) than control group (9.9％) (x2=9.084,P=0.003).The duration of hypertension was longer in the observation group (8.8±4.6) than control group (6.0±4.1) (t=1.806,P=0.036).The income per month was less in the observation group (1850±150) than control group (2150±200) (t=5.799,P＜ 0.001).There were regression relationship between medication compliance and degree of education,medical security and duration of hypertension.Conclusions According to the influence factors of medication compliance in elderly hypertensive patients,it's useful to improve medication compliance by enhancing health education and designing a personal treatment.

Objective To explore the relationship between the extent of coronary artery lesions and plasma brain natriurefic peptide(BNP)levels in the patients with coronary artery disease(CAD)except for congestive heart failure(CHF).Method Seventy CAD patients without CHF evidenced by dinical manifestation and coronary arte- riography(CAG)from Cardiology Depamnent of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine,China,were enrolled in the study.These patients were diagnozed under coronary arteriography(CAG) during March to May of 2007.They were divided into 3 groups:stable angina goup(24 patients),unstable angina group(25 patients),myocardial infarction group(21 patients).Twenty patients without coronary history and with normal CAG served as controls.Plasma BNP concentrations were measured with ELASA before CAG.The coronary lesion vessels and scores were estimated after CAG.The relationship between BNP levels and the coronary lesion vessels,as well as scores in CAD was analyzed.The data were expressed as(x±s)and was analyzed by using 2 independent samples test and spearman correlation with SPSS 13.0.A P value less than 0.01 indicated statistical significance.Results The plasma BNP concentrations in the patients,especially in the patients with myocardial infarction,were significantly higher than those in the controls.Spearman analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between the BNP levels and coronary lesion vessels(r1=0.309,P=0.01),also between BNP and coronary lesion score(r2=0.279,P=0.01).Conclusions In the patients without congestive heart failure,the more serious the coronary artery lesions,the higher the plasma BNP concentrations were.The degree of myocardial ischemia caused by coronary artery lesions was correlated with the plasma BNP level.Plasma BNP concentration could be valuable for the extent of coronary artery lesions in the patients of coronary artery disease.

With the population aging,the number of elderly with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia is increasing,which seriously threatens the health and quality of life in elderly.The early screening and detection of dementia among high-risk population and appropriate interventional measures would delay the disease course,and maintain patients' self-care abilities and dignity.Computerized neuropsychological assessment devices are economic and efficient,and suitable for screening in large population.This article reviews the theory,characteristics and application of internet-based neuropsychological assessment for age-related cognitive impairment,as well as the prospect in the future studies.
