1.Mechanism and prevention in cancer complicated with deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs
Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(6):458-461
The incidence of deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower limbs is higher in the patients suffered from cancers than that in the general population.DVT complicated with cancers caused by many reasons, such as hypercoagulability, endothelial injury, stasis of blood and so on.And due to its serious consequences to the victims, the prevention and early diagnosis of DVT is very important. However, today there is still no definite standard for preventative anticoagulation in the patients of cancer.

Objective To analyse the CT features of solitary bronchioalveolar carcinoma(SBAC) so that to improve the CT diagnostic accuracy. Methods CT findings of 39 cases with SBAC proved by operation and pathology were studied, and an analysis as compared with 48 cases other type of peripheral pulmonary carcinoma. Results CT findings included lobulations in 32,spiculation in 33,pleural tags in 25,bronchovascular bundles in 14,vacuole or/and bronchiologram in 18 and ground glass changs in 8 cases. Conclusion The characteristic CT manifestations of SBAC are:(1)Vacuole or/and bronchiologram;(2)Long spiculation;(3)Ground-glass.It is important to recognize the CT appearances of SBAC in order to improve diagnostic ability.

Objective:To investigate the level of rumination and its influential factors among Chinese psychiatry nurses who go through work place violence. Methods:In this study, 150 psychiatry nurses were recruited from Affiliated Brain Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University (specialize in psychiatry), via the combination of convenient sampling and snowball sampling. Chinese Event-related Rumination Inventory (C-ERRI) was applied in the survey. Results:The total score of C-ERRI was (22.11±9.62) points, and the scores of intrusive rumination subscale and deliberate rumination subscale were (12.99±5.58) and (9.12±6.01) points, respectively. Multiple Linear Regression Analysis show that assault frequency in recent year ( B=-3.195, P<0.01) and whether got injury in the recent assault ( B=8.591, P<0.01) were predictors of deliberate rumination, which account for 26.8% variance of the equation. Gender (male) ( B=-2.415, P<0.01), Injury frequency in recent year ( B=2.864, P<0.01) and whether got injury in the recent assault ( B=8.949, P<0.01) were predictors of intrusive rumination. They account for 36.0% variance of the equation. Conclusion:In this study, the level of rumination among Chinese psychiatry nurses was low. Their rumination style was deliberate rumination.

OBJECTIVETo explore the most appropriate imaging examinations for solitary osteochondroma in primary hospitals.
METHODSA retrospective evaluation was performed to analyze the imaging examinations (including X-ray, CT, and ultrasound) of 62 patients undergoing surgeries for solitary osteochondroma in terms of the diagnostic results and preoperative expenditure of the patients.
RESULTSX-ray and CT have a high diagnostic value for solitary osteochondroma, but X-ray cannot display cartilage and lesions in surrounding soft tissues. Ultrasound is limited in diagnosis of solitary osteochondroma, but performed well as CT in displaying cartilage and lesions in surrounding soft tissues. There was no statistical difference between combined X-ray and ultrasound and CT in diagnosis of solitary osteochondroma (P>0.05), but the former had a lower cost (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONX-ray combined with ultrasound has almost comparable value with CT in the diagnosis of solitary osteochondroma and is more practical for application in primary hospitals.

Objective To investigate the effect of supplementing qi, activating blood circulation and tonifying kidney therapy on the postoperative outcomes of patients undergoing lumber intervertebral disc herniation. Methods From January 2010 to May 2012, 120 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation undergoing surgical treatment in Nanfang hospital were randomized into two equal groups to receive routine therapy (control group) and additional treatment with Yiqi Houxue Bushen Decoction (treatment group). The effect of the interventions was evaluated by assessing the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Japanese Orthopedic Association Scores (JOA), WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF), length of hospital stay and adverse event. Results All the 120 patients were followed up and analyzed. Significant differences were found between the treatment and control groups in VAS, JOA Scores, and WHOQOL-BREF (P<0.01) at 2, 4, and 8 week and at 6 and 12 months after the surgery. At 6 and 12 months postoperatively, the JOA Scores (P<0.01), but not the VAS and WHOQOL-BREF, differed significantly between the two groups. Conclusion Blood-activating and kidney-nourishing therapy is effective in promoting postoperative recovery and helps reduce the clinical symptoms and minimize the adverse events in patients undergoing surgery for lumber intervertebral disc herniation.
