ObjectiveTo discuss the influence on diagn osing of femoral vein reflux by using the different ultrasound Doppler probing points. MethodsUsing pulse wave(PW) and color Doppler flow imaging, 134 femoral veins in 67 cases of lower limb varicosity were detected at 3 different probing points to check up the deep venous reflux after Valsava maneuver. The ultrasonographic data were compared with the results of venous DSA and operation to analyze the influence on diagnosis. ResultsThe reflux data obtained from the upper point of superficial femoral vein was most correlative with the results of DSA and operation. ConclusionsThe PW is a satisfactory technique in diagnosing the femoral reflux, and the upper point of superficial femoral vein is a most reasonable probing point.

Objective To study the diagnostic value of mammography and high-frequency ultrasound in diagnosis of early breast carcinoma.Methods Sixty-five female patients with breast carcinoma were all confirmed by surgery and pathological examinations. All the patients were examined by the high-frequency ultrasound as well as mammography.Results The positive diagnostic rate,the display of tumor shadow and malignant microcalcification with high-frequency ultrasound and mammography were as follows :64.6%(42/65)and 46%(30/ 65),62%(40/65)and 20%(13/65),40%(26/65)and 20%(13/65)respectively. Objective:To study the therapeutic effect of Liyanling granules on chronic pharyngitis. Methods:The chronic pharyn-gitis rat models were established, and administered orally for 7 days. The influence of Liyanling granules on the pathology of pharyngeal tissue and the contents of PGE2 , IL-1β and TNF-α were observed. The blood was withdrawn to detect the whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity, and the anti-inflammatory effects were observed in two kinds of rat models:foot pad swelling induced by carrageenin and agar-induced chronic granuloma. Results:Liyanling granule could significantly decrease the levels of PGE2 , IL-1βand TNF-α( P<0. 05 or P<0. 01) and the viscosity of blood and plasma(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01), improve the pathological morphology of rat pharynge-al tissues(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01), inhibit the swelling of foot pad induced by carrageenin and the granuloma induced by agar in rats(P<0. 05 or P<0. 01). Conclusion:Liyanling granules has a certain therapeutic effect on chronic pharyngitis in rats, and the mecha-nism may be related with the inhibition of inflammatory cytokines PGE2 ,IL-1β and TNF-α and the improvement of blood rheology.

BACKGROUND: Cryopreservation can decrease tissue and organ immunogenicity. The effects of cryopreservation on cell immunogenicity are disputed.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of liquid nitrogen cryopreservation on osteoblast immunogenicity. DESIGN: Randomized,controlled ,paired-sample experiment. SETTING: This study was performed in the Laboratory Center, Qilu Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University between July 2003 and March 2004. MATERIALS: Four New Zealand rabbits of either gender were included for this study. 3H-TdR was provided by Nuclear Medicine Institute of Shandong University. METHODS: Osteoblasts were cultured from the tibial periosteum of New Zealand rabbits and then cryopreservated in the liquid nitrogen for 3 months and defrosted. Cryopreservated and thawn osteoblasts were set as cryopreserved group and freshly cultured osteoblasts were set as non-cyropreserved group. Major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-I positive rate was examined by flow cytometry assay prior to and after cryopreservation. Simultaneously, mixed lymphocyte-osteoblast cultures were established. Lymphocyte stimulation index was calculated after counting the flares using β liquid scintilloscope. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: MHI-I antigen positive rate and lymphocyte stimulation index prior to and after cryopreservation of osteoblasts. RESULTS: MHI-I antigen positive rate and lymphocyte stimulation index of osteoblasts was significantly higher in the non-cryopreserved group than in the cryopreserved group (P＜0.01). CONCLUSION: The immunogenicity of cryopreserved osteoblasts was significantly decreased. Liquid nitrogen cryopreservation is an ideal method to decrease the immunogenicity of osteoblasts.

OBJECTIVE: To study the formulation and technology of dexamethasone solid lipid nanoparticles(DXM-SLN) lyophilized injection and evalnate it's quality. METHODS: The formulation of the supporting agent was optimized and the preparation technology of lyophilized injection was established to prepare the lyophilised injection. The content of DXM in the sample was determined and its quality was investigated as well. RESULTS: 30% mannitol was supporting agent, the particle size of DXM-SLN was 340 nm, with zeta potential at -25.2 mV, entrapment ratio at 92.10% and drug-loading at 7.10%. It was stable within 3 months' at 2～8 ℃storing. CONCLUSION: The preparation technique of this preparation is simple and feasible and its quality is stable and controllable.

Objective:To evaluate the association of glutathione S-transferase M1 (GSTM1 )polymorphism,smoking and alcohol drinking with oral cancer susceptibility in Asians by meta-analysis.Methods:A literature search of PubMed,Chinese BioMedical, Wanfang,VIP and CNKI databases from inception to July 30th,2013 was conducted.Crude odd ration (OR)with 95% confidence intervals (95%CI)was calculated.Results:27 case-control studies were assessed,and the results showed that the association be-tween GSTM1 null genotype and oral cancer susceptibility was significant in Asians (OR=1.31,95%CI:1.18-1.45,P<0.001), especially in South Asians (OR=1.35,95%CI:1.20 -1.52,P<0.001).Significant associations between oral cancer risk and smoking and alcohol drinking were found in East Asians (Smoking:OR=1.70,95%CI:1.36 -2.13,P<0.001;Alcohol drink-ing:OR=1.54,95%CI:1.24 -1.90,P<0.001).Conclusion:GSTM1 null genotype may be associated with increased oral cancer risk in Asians.Smoking and alcohol drinking confer significant susceptibility to oral cancer in East Asians.

Objective To investigate the effect of Solitaire stent combined with coils on endovascular embolization of intracranial wide-necked aneurysms.Methods Twenty-six cases with intracranial wide-necked aneurysms from June 2009 to December 2011 in the NO.264 Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army were treated with Solitaire stent-assisted coils,and anticoagulation and antiplatelet therapy were done among peri operation period.The effect of endovascular embolization was evaluated after 3 months cerebral angiography.Results A total of 27 solitaire stent were used in the 26 patients,one of which used 2 stents.The stents were successfully put in place,and the placement effect were satisfaction.The immediate angiography showed that 24 cases were dense embolism,2 cases of subtotal embolization.Stent were placed at right position.Twenty-three patients were followed with DSA for 3 months,and no aneurysm evidence of recurrence was found.Conclusion Solitaire stent-assisted coil embolization of intracranial wide-necked aneurysms is simple to perform and embolism rate is high and the recurrence rate is low.

Objective To make a comparison of curative effect of 1 and 2 ureters anastomosis in modified sigma operation. Methods Modified sigma operation was used after radical cystectomy in 14 cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma and 1 case of adenocarcinoma of the bladder.We used a folded suture of 25 cm from the sigmoid colon to make the U-shaped urinary reservoirs to anastomose with the ureters in study group.Among study group,1 ureter was anastomosed with urinary reservoir in 5 cases.In the other 10 cases,1.5-2 cm of the terminal parts of 2 ureters were sutured tI am not sure what the authors mean by big diamogether and then anastomosed with the urinary reservoir.Results 15 cases obtained good voiding control and no obvious water-electrolyte disturbance occurred.All the patients were cured and discharged within 15 to 22 days.Thirteen cases were followed-up in 8 to 24 month time period.Anastonmtic stenosis and moderate-severe hydronephrosis occurred in 4 cases with 1 ureter anastomosis.No hydronephrosis occurred in the 9 cases with 2 ureters anastomosis.Conclusions Modified sigma operation has the advantages of less injury and fewer complications.The patients can obtain self-control urination by anal sphincter without urine bags or intermittent catheterization,so the life quality of the patients is improved.Modified sigma operation with 2 ureters anastomosis has big diameter and there was a lower incidence of serious complications such as anastomotic stenosis.

OBJECTIVE:To study the antitumor activity of Anthopleura xanthogrammica crude extract on human lung cancer SPC-A1 cells in vitro. METHODS:A. xanthogrammica crude extract obtained by the methods of repeated freezing and thawing,ac-etone precipitation. After treated with crude extract 0(blank control),0.625,1.25 and 2.5 mg/ml for 24,48 and 72 h,the activity of SPC-A1 cells were measured by MTT assay. The growth inhibition rate and IC50 were also calculated. 24 h later,the morphologi-cal changes of SPC-A1 cells were observed by HE staining and AO/EB fluorescence staining. RESULTS:MTT assay showed that A. xanthogrammica crude extract has significant inhibitory effect on the proliferation of human lung cancer SPC-A1 cells;with the increasing of the concentration and the extension of the time,the inhibitory rate was increased. Its 24 h,48 h ,72 h IC50 were 1.81,1.32 and 1.18 mg/ml. HE staining and AO/EB staining appeared obvious morphological changes of apoptosis that cell mor-phology narrowed,vacuoles arose in the cytoplasm,karyopyknosis and part of nuclear disappearance occurred. CONCLUSIONS:A. xanthogrammica crude extract has an inhibitory effect on the proliferation of human lung cancer SPC-A1 cells.
