1.The Prevention and Treatment of Injuries in Chinese Female Football Players
Chinese Journal of Sports Medicine 2001;20(1):61-63,84
For the purpose of preventing and treating the injuries in female football players, we investigated the incidence and the types of injuries, and analyzed the causes that lead to the injuries in 175 players from 8 female football teams. The results were as follows: (1) The incidence of injuries was 235.4 %, including 41.8 % of acute and 58.2 % of chronic injuries. (2) The main injures included contusion (46.5 %), sprain (22.8 %), muscle torsion (11.5 %), and abrasion (10.9 %). (3) The injuries usually occurred in ankle (22%), knee (14.8 %), thigh (14 %), head and neck (9.5 %), leg (8.5 %), foot (7.4 %), lumbar (6.6 %). (4) The major causes of injuries included: inadequate training (33.3 %), disobeying training principles (25.2 %), man-made factors (24.2 %),and others (17.5 %). In accordance with the causes, 93 players from Guangdong, Henan, Shandong, Bayi female football teams in 1997 were taken as the treatment group with various prevention and treatment measures, while 58 players from Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi female football teams were taken as the control group. The incidence of injury in 1998 was 105.4 % in the treatment group, while 229.3 % in the control group (P<0.05). As compared with the incidence of injury in 1997 (235.4 %), the incidence of injury in the treatment group was also statistically lower (P<0.05). It was concluded that the measures of prevention and treatment in the study were effective.

AIM:To determine the effects of different-term streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetes on ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury and cell apoptosis in rats myocardial via alterations in myocardial peroxynitrite.METHODS:The models of I/R injury were induced by occlusion and reperfusion of the left descending coronary artery(LDCA)in rats.I/R-induced infarct size was determined using triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC)staining.Quantified caspase-3 expression was used to represent apoptosis by Western blotting analysis.Peroxynitrite formation as indicated by nitrotyrosine level was measured by morphometric analysis.RESULTS:Two weeks after STZ treatment, infarct size(35.00%?3.00%)was smaller in 2 weeks diabetic hearts(2WKD)as compared with time-matched control group(2WKC)(51.00%?3.30%),whereas after 16 weeks of diabetes(16WKD),the infarct size(61.00%?3.00%)was bigger in the diabetic hearts as compared with the 16WKC group(50.00%?2.00%,P

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of combining contralateral needling and tendon-bone balancing Tuina(Chinese therapeutic massage)in treating scapulohumeral periarthritis(SP). Methods:Sixty-eight eligible participants were chosen and randomized into an acupuncture group and an acupuncture plus Tuina group, with 34 cases in each group. The acupuncture group received treatment with contralateral needling, and the acupuncture plus Tuina group was treated with contralateral needling combined with tendon-bone balancing Tuina. The post-treatment changes in the Constant-Murley score for comprehensive shoulder function, visual analog scale(VAS)score for pain, and shoulder range of motion(ROM)score were compared after 2 treatment courses to estimate the clinical efficacy in the two groups. Results:After treatment, the total effective rate was 96.7%in the acupuncture plus Tuina group versus 83.9%in the acupuncture group, showing a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The Constant-Murley shoulder function score increased in the acupuncture plus Tuina group after the intervention;a decreased VAS pain score and an increased shoulder ROM score were found in both groups. After 1 and 2 treatment courses, the between-group comparisons of the Constant-Murley and shoulder ROM scores showed statistical significance(P<0.05).Regarding the VAS score, the acupuncture plus Tuina group was lower than the acupuncture group after the first treatment course(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups after 2 treatment courses(P>0.05). Conclusion:Contralateral needling plus tendon-bone balancing Tuina can produce more significant clinical efficacy and relieve pain faster than contralateral needling alone in treating SP.

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) is an infectious disease which can threaten animal husbandry and human health seriously. The disease mainly violates the central neural system. This article selectively reviewed current researches on the analytical detection of BSE and transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE).

Objective To retrospective analysis the onset characteristics and outcome of surgical management in patients with giant cell tumor (GCT) of distal tibia, explore the operation indication and the risk factors for recurrence and limb function. Methods From October 2000 to June 2014,Fifteen patients with GCT in the distal tibia from domestic three bone tumor centers were involved in this study. They included 8 males and 7 females, with an average age of 35.9± 10.4 years. There were 11 cases of Campanacci Ⅱ and 4 cases of Campanacci Ⅲ.Two cases of Campanacci Ⅱ occurred pathologic fracture.Expanded curettage surgery was performed in 11 cases and tumor resection with revascularization was performed in 4 cases.Factors influencing the choice of surgery, recurrence and limb function were analyzed. These included tumor size, ankle condition,Campanacci grade, pathological fracture. Results A1l patients were followed up with a mean duration of 62.3±25.2 months, ranging from 26 to 60 months. One of 11 patients treated with extended curettage underwent local recurrence. One of 4 patients treated with marginal excision underwent local recurrence. The effect of Campanacci classification and pathological fracture on selection of operation scheme was analyzed. The effects of pathological fractures,Campanacci classification, surgical methods and postoperative functional score (MSTS score) on postoperative recurrence rate were analyzed.Single factor analysis showed that the pathological fractures did not affect the selection of GCT surgical treatment plan (P=1.000).Campanacci classification affected the selection of GCT surgical treatment plan (P=0.001).Pathological fractures,Campanacci classification and surgical methods were not related to the local recurrence rate (P > 0.05).Expanded curettage of Campanacci grade Ⅱ patients with better postoperative MSTS score than tumor segment resected Campanacci grade Ⅲ patients (t=3.385,P=0.005).There was no significant relationship between pathological fracture and postoperative MSTS score. Conclusion Distal tibia GCT Campanacci classification and whether combined with pathological fracture or not affects the choice of surgical procedure and postoperative functional recovery.
