OBJECTIVE: To establish a new method for measuring the content of benzalkonium bromide in disinfectant so- lution METHODS: The sodium nitrite was removed from disinfectant solution by reaction between sodium nitrite and urea to form N2 and CO2 and then benzalkonium bromide in the solution was directly determinated by UV-spectrophotometry with no need of separation RESULTS:There was no significant difference between this method and the method in pharmacopeia CON CLUSION:The method is simple, rapid and accurate and can be used to measure benzalkonium bromide in the solution.

Objective To investigate the etiology and prognostic factors of acute kidney injury (AKI) in pediatric patients . Methods The clinical data of children patients with AKI in this hospital ,including the clinical features ,causes and outcomes ,were retrospectively analyzed .The relationship between the risk factors and prognosis was analyzed .Results Infants were dominated by the prerenal factors and the other age groups were dominated by the renal factors .The univariate analysis revealed that the AKI stage ,etiology ,mechanical ventilation ,sepsis/septic shock ,MODS ,acidosis ,creatinine initial value ,creatinine peak value and serum potassium were the factors affecting prognosis .The Logistic regression analysis showed that mechanical ventilation ,MODS and sep-sis/septic shock were the independent risk factors affecting prognosis .Conclusion The etiology of AKI in children is diverse and its distribution has the age characteristics .Mechanical ventilation ,MODS and sepsis/septic shock are the independent risk factors af-fecting prognosis .The early diagnosis and the active treatment conduces to improve prognosis .

ObjectiveTo study the associations of Val66Met functional polymorphism in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)with creativity and personality traits in a healthy college student population.MethodThe creativity performance and personality traits of the 830 healthy college students (272 males and 558females) were assessed with Williams Creativity Scale (CAP) and adult Eysenek Personality Questionnaire (EPQ),then study was performed on the association Val66Met in BDNF with creativity and personality traits.ResultsThe results indicated that Val66Met was significantly associated with the curiosity of CAP (F=0.519,P=0.036).The numbers of Val allele showed a positive correlation to the performance of curiosity.Val66Val genotype individuals had the best performance (31.924 ± 4.010 ) while the Met66Met ones showed the worst performante(30.889 ± 3.478).However,the association of Val66Met with the personality traits of EPQ was uot significant in the study (P＞ 0.05).Furthermore,there was no a significant effect of the interaction between the genetic variant and Extraversion/Introversion on the curiosity of CAP (P =0.747 ).ConclusionThe present study suggests that Val66Met in BDNF contributes to creativity,but not to personality traits in the population.

This study is to compare the influence of CYP2D6 *3 and *4 genotypes and phenotypes on the metabolic activity of CYP2D6 in Chinese Han, Uygur and Kazakh ethnic groups. Allele specific amplification (ASA) was used to determine the CYP2D6*3 and CYP2D6*4 genotypes. Phenotypes of CYP2D6 in all subjects were determined using dextromethorphan as probe drug by HPLC methods. Among the 132 Han subjects, one subject (0.76%) exhibited the *1/*3 combination, and one (0.76%) exhibited the *1/*4. Among the 136 Uygur subjects, 4 subjects (2.94%) showed the *1/*3 combination, 12 (8.82%) showed *1/*4, 4 (2.94%) showed *4/*4, and one (0.74%) showed *3/*4. Among the 116 Kazakh subjects, 2 (1.72%) exhibited the *1/*3 combination, 7 (6.03%) exhibited *1/1*4, and one (0.86%) showed *4/*4. This research revealed significant differences in the occurrence frequencies of the CYP2D6 genotype between Han and Uygur ethnic groups, as well as between Uygur and Kazakh populations. However, no difference was found between Han and Kazakh populations. In addition, the prevalence of PMs of the Uygur is comparable to that of the Caucasians. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the poor metabolism is different in these two populations.

Objective: To optimize the extraction process for Rhubarb. Methods: Colomrimetric analysis was used to measure the content of active ingredients; Besides, orthogonal design was applied to optimize the technologies of Rhubarb in comparision with two ways to deal with the experimental results. Results: The different optimum extraction processes can be obtained by different ways to deal with the experiment results but the same experiment results were found. Conclusion: The multivariate regression analysis can make up shortage of sense The equation of regression is more helpful for explanation of result and optimum of preparation technology.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the value of MicroPure software system in the display of calcification and diagnostic accuracy of breast carcinoma.MethodsSixty-three patients with 68 breast lesions were checked by conventional ultrasound,X-ray and MicroPure software technique.The calcification was described and the lesions were classified with BI-RADS.All cases were pathologically confirmed by biopsy or operation.Results ①Compared to the detection rate for calcification of X-ray,the display rate of conventional ultrasound was 80.6% ,and the display rate of MicroPure software technique was 100%.②The area under the curve of diagnosing benign and malignant of breast lesions was 0.916,0.857 and 0.970 respectively with ultrasound,X-ray and MicroPure software technique.③Three lesions was classified Ⅲ in BI-RADS with conventional ultrasound,and Ⅳ in BI-RADS with MicroPure software.The pathologic results were malignant.ConclusionsMicroPure software system obviously raised the ultrasonic display rate of calcification,meanwhile,it raised the diagnostic accurate rate of breast cancer.It especially raised the tendency rate for the patients who were classified between Ⅲ and Ⅳ in BI-RADS.

Objective To investigate the efficiency of 16S rRNA Real-time reverse transcription PCR technique in the diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infection,and compare its sensitivity and specificity with conventional culture.Methods There were 43 revision cases from July 2013 to December 2015.Synovial fluid collected by puncture preoperatively,tissues from five different parts around the prosthesis collected intra-operatively were cultured by blood plate and BacT/Alert FN respectively.The 16S rRNA in interface membrane was detected by real-time reverse transcription PCR as a marker to diagnose PJI.At the same time,the synovial fluid was routinely bacterial cultured.We compared the sensitivity and specificity of two methods.Results There are 22 THAs and 21 TKAs respectively in 43 cases,23 cases diagnosed prosthetic joint infection and 20 cases diagnosed non prosthetic joint infection.The sensitivity of 16S rRNA Real-time reverse transcription PCR is higher than the conventional bacterial culture (78.2％ vs.47.8％).There was no difference in the specificity and PPV and NPV.For PCR in prosthetic joint infection group,Staphylococcus epidermidis in 5 cases,Staphylococcus aureus in 3 cases,streptococcus in 4 cases,E.coli in 2 cases,Staphylococcus lugdunensis,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Staphylococcus haemolyticus and Mycoplasma in 1 case respectively.For culture in prosthetic joint infection group,Staphylococcus epidermidis in 5 cases,Staphylococcus aureus in 2 cases,Staphylococcus lugdunensis,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Staphylococcus haemolyticus and E.coli in 1 case respectively.For non prosthetic joint infection group,PCR and culture are all negative.Conclusion The sensitivity of 16S rRNA Real-time reverse transcription PCR is higher than the conventional bacterial culture.

Objective To investigate the expression of PTEN and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in esophageal carcinoma and the relationship between their expression.Methods The expression of PTEN and VEGF were detected using immunohistochemical S-P method.Results Among 80 cases of esophageal carcino- ma,31 showed positive staining of PTEN (38.75%),while all 20 case of normal mucosa showed positiva staimng of PTEN.The expression level of PTEN in highly differentiated squamous carcinoma was higher than that low differ- entiated squamous carcinoma.Also,the expression of PTEN was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis (r=0.61,P<0.01)and differentiation(r=0.57.P<0.05).In 80 cases of esophageal carcinoma,57(70.13%) were of positive staining of VEGF,while in 20 of normal esophageal mucosa,only 3 showed positive staining of VEGF.The expression of VEGF was markedly correlated with infiltrative deepness(r=0.49,P<0.05)and lymph node metastasis(r=0.55,P<0.05)and differentiation(r=0.48,P<0.05).Conclusion Combined detection of PTEN and VEGF maybe helpful to evaluate prognosis and infiltrative capability of esophageal carcinoma,with sig- nificant importance to the prediction of the prognosis of esophageal carcinoam.

Objective To establish an experimental animal model of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in the swine. Methods Under sterilization, the swine’s chest was cut open and the left circumflex coronary artery (LCX) was ligated.Results After the operation, the changes of Electrocardiogram (ECG) and myocardial-enzymes in the blood serum and selective coronary angiography all proved that the animal model of AMI in the swine was successful. Conclusions Ligating coronary was a valuable method to make an animal model of AMI.

Objective:To explore clinical effect of 125I radioactive seed implantation combined with intermittent hormonal therapy (IHT) on prostate cancer. Methods:During the period from May 2016 to May 2017, 84 patients pathologically diagnosed with prostate cancer of T 3N 0M 0 by biopsy in Affiliated Hospital of Chifeng College were enrolled as study objects. They were divided into two groups by random number table method. 40 cases in control group were treated with intermittent hormonal therapy, while 44 cases in observation group were treated with 125I radioactive seed implantation combined with IHT. After the first IHT, time of prostate specific antigen (PSA) returning to normal and intermission time in both groups were observed. The dynamic changes of PSA level and prognosis in both groups during treatment were recorded. Results:After the first IHT, time of PSA returning to normal in observation group was shorter than that in control group, while intermission time was longer than that in control group ( P<0.05). At 3, 6, 12 and 24 months after treatment, PSA level in observation group was lower than that in control group ( P<0.05). The 2-year PSA-free progression survival (PSA-PFS) rate in observation group was higher than those in control group (77.27% vs 45.0%) ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in 2-year total overall survival (OS) rate between the two groups ( P>0.05). There were no serious complications during treatment in observation group. Conclusions:125I radioactive seed implantation combined with IHT in treatment of prostate cancer can reduce PSA level more quickly, and increase 2-year PSA-PFS rate.
