Objective To compare the diagnostic efficiency in showing the responsible blood vessels for neurovascular compression in patients with trigeminal neuralgia by 3D‐FIESTA‐C and 3D‐TOF‐MRA sequences .Methods The imaging data of 60 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia were analyzed retrospectively .After MRI examination ,all of the patients underwent micro‐vascular de‐compression (MVD) .3D‐TOF‐MRA and 3D‐FIESTA‐C sequences were performed to evaluate the three‐dimensional relationship be‐tween trigeminal nerve and blood vessels through the original and reconstructed image .The intraoperative endoscopic findings were set as the gold standard comparing to the manifestations of 3D‐TOF‐MRA and 3D‐FIESTA‐C .Results The sensitivities of 3D‐TOF‐MRA and 3D‐FIESTA‐C for the diagnosis of the existence of responsible vessels were 85 .7% ,89 .3% ,the specificities were 75 .0% , 100% ,and the accuracies were 85 .0% ,90 .0% ,respectively (P=1 .000) .Furthermore ,the sensitivities of 3D‐TOF‐MRA and 3D‐FIESTA‐C for the diagnosis of the existence of responsible arteries were 94 .1% ,88 .2% (P=0 .244) ,while the sensitivities of the responsible veins were 0 .00% and 88 .2% (P=0 .009) .Conclusion Both the 3D‐FIESTA‐C and 3D‐TOF‐MRA sequences can accurately deter‐mine the existence of responsible vessels in trigeminal neuralgia before surgery .3D‐FIESTA‐C sequence is superior to 3D‐TOF‐MRA for presenting the responsible veins ,which can be used as a supplemental diagnostic tool before operation .

Objective To analyze the urodynamic abnormalities of incontinent stroke patients, and evaluate the effects of acupuncture, moxibustion in combination with physical therapy. Methods One hundred and six in- continent stroke patients were divided into a control group and a treatment group. The control group was treated with conventional methods, and the treatment group with acupuncture, moxibustion and physical therapy modalities such as ultrasound and EMG biofeedback. The Urodynamic examination was performed before and after treatment.Re- sults It was found that the uradynamic abnormalities in the incontinent stroke patients include detrusor hyperreflexia and uninhibited sphincter relaxation.Combined use of acupuncture, moxibustion and physical therapy can significant- ly improve the patients' symptoms. Conclusion Common urodynamic abnormalities.are detrusor hyperreflexia and uninhibited external sphincter relaxation in incontinent stroke patients.Combined use of acupuncture, moxibustion and physical therapy is effective for treating this condition.

Objective To study the factors influencing outcome of acute arterial embolism in extremity.Method From Aug 1997 to Nov 2001, we have accomplished treatment in 41 cases of acute arterial embolism in extremity with Fogarty catheter.Result Among 41 cases,26 cases were succeeded in leg salvage,8 cases were subject to amputation and 7 cases were dead finally. Conclusions Durationand degree of ischemia in extremity, embolectomy completeness in the case of introoperation, reperfusive injury and myonephropathic-metabolic syndrome,Primary diseases and general conditions are main influencing factors in treatment of acute arterial embolism.

OBJECTIVE:To compare and analyze blood concentration changes of fluorouracil administered to guinea pigs by different paths.METHODS:The peripheral vein and portal vein blood samples of guinea pigs were taken at different time after administered with fluorouracil in3different ways:group A(by arterial infusion),group B(by intravenous infusion)and group C(by celiac infusion). The blood concentration changes were determined and analyzed by HPLC.RESULTS:The portal vein and peripheral vein blood concentrations in group A and B reached peak value5min after administration with flu?orouracil while group C reached peak at10min;the portal vein blood concentrations in group A reached the highest in the first20min while group C showed the highest value in the last30min.CONCLUSION:Arterial infusion combining celiac infusion path was recommended for local chemotherapy;arterial infusion combining intravenous infusion or intravenous infusion com?bining celiac infusion was recommended for the local therapy while giving consideration to systemic chemotherapy.

Objective To evaluate the analgesic effects of continuous infusion of morphine into epidural space(CIEA) on postoperative pain relief after prostatectomy. Methods 40 cases of benign prostate hypertrophy were selected and randomly divided into two groups, experimental group(CIEA),0 2mg/h of morphin was injected into epidural space, control group(MI),50mg of pethidine was injected whenever patient feel pain.VAS(Vision simulate score),frequency and duration of bladder spasm, discontinuance time of bladder irrigation,HR BP and RR,were observed. Results The experimental group was superior to the control group with characteristics of stable analgesic effect, short duration and low frequency of bladder spasm(P

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1994;0(02):-
The activities of interleukin 6 (IL 6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF?) produced by peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in vitro and their relevant levels in sera were measured in 49 patients with psoriasis vulgaris (PV) and in 20 normal controls using bioassay. The relationship between them was also analysed. The results showed that in PV patients the activites of IL 6 and TNF? produced by PBMCs and their serum levels were higher than those in healthy controls. There was a positive linear correlation between the activites in vitro and relevant levels in sera, and a positive linear correlation between serum levels of IL 6 and TNF?. These results indicate that there is dysfunction of cellular immune of PBMCs in PV patients. The increase of serum levels of IL 6 and TNF? may be related to the increased activity of PBMCs, and there may be a synergic action between IL 6 and TNF? in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.

Objective To investigate the qualitative diagnosis of salivary gland mass with contrastenhanced ultrasound(CEUS).Methods The CEUS manifestations in 78 cases with salivary gland mass were observed after intravenous bolus injection with contrast agent SonoVue and confirmed by histology. Results Among 78 salivary gland masses, there were 29 cases with pleomorphic adenomas (37.2%),19with Warthin's tumors (24.4 %),7 with basal cell adenomas (8.9 %),and 11 with the other benign masses (14.1%),12 with malignant tumors (15.4%).The intensity of contrast-enhanced masses, whether the enhanced mass margin was clear, whether the peripheral enhancement rim was complete and whether the mass was enlarged were the diagnostic criteria to differentiate the benign and malignant tumors. The accuracy, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 87.2%,95.2%,56.3%,89.4%,75.0% respectively, and the results also displayed positive likelihood ratio and negative likelihood ratio were 2.178,0.085 respectively.Although they presented with the highest incidence among benign tumors, their CEUS manifestations showed remarkable statistical differences when the pleomorphic adenoma was compared with Warthin' s tumor and basal cell adenoma respectively in enhancement intensity(P <0.01) while there were no statistical differences between Warthin's tumors and basal cell adenomas (P >0.05).Conclusions CEUS manifestations of salivary gland mass were helpful to the differential diagnosis of various salivary gland tumors.
