Objective To study the effect of red blood cells on the secretion of white blood cells modulating globulin in patients with cancer with a new immunological reaction experimental system. Methods Cancer cells (S180, 5?10~6/ml) or 0.2ml of NS or 0.2ml of white blood cells and 0.3ml of plasma were added to anticoagulant suspension of white blood cells treated by citric acid and incubated for 1h at 37℃. The content of globulin (g/L) was determined by Olympus AU100 detector method. 0.2ml of cancer cells was added to 0.2ml of whole blood cells and 0.3ml of plasma in the whole blood experimental group. 0.2ml of NS was added to 0.2ml of whole blood cells and 0.3ml of plasma in the control group. 0.2ml of cancer cells was added to 0.2ml of white blood cells and 0.3ml of plasma in the white blood cell isolation experimental group. 0.2ml of NS was added to 0.2ml of white blood cells and 0.3ml of plasma in the control group. Results Activation rate (0.31?0.09) of globulin in whole blood cell experimental group of patients with cancer was significantly decreased compared to that (0.39?0.14) in normal people. Red cell adhesion rate (0.09?0.08) of globulin in control group was also significantly decreased compared to that (0.29?0.14) in normal people. Conclusion The results of our study indicate that the new experimental system can be used for detection of red blood cell-modulating globulin. The function of red blood cells in modulating globulin of patients with cancer is decreased.

Objective To understand the characteristics of surface electromyography (sEMG)of vastus medialis muscle fatigue induced by isokinetic flexion and extension movement, and to further provide references for the application of sEMG on dynamical movements.Methods Arial isokinetic equipment and ME6000 equipment were combined to analyze the time domain indices including root mean square (RMS ) integrated electromyography (iEMG)and spectrum indices including median frequency (MF)and mean power frequency (MPF)for vastus medialis from ten students from Shenyang Sport University during isokinetic fatigue.Results During the isokinetic muscle fatigue the RMS and iEMG were significantly increased (P<0.05),accompanying with higher effect sizes for iEMG than for RMS. As for the spectrum indices,MF and MPF were significantly decreased (P<0.05)with larger effect sizes for MPF than for MF. The increase rate of iEMG was significantly higher in iEMG than RMS (P<0.05),and the decline rate of MPF was larger than MF (P<0.05).Conclusion The iEMG as a time domain index and MPF as a spectrum index can be sensitive indexes to assess the dynamic muscle fatigue.

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of improved covered metallic stents for proximal malignant esophageal strictures.Methods A total of 56 patients with proximal malignant esophageal strictures were treated with improved covered metallic stents whose diameter was 14 mm or 16 mm at Shanxi Province Tumor Hospital from Feburary 2013 to August 2014.Swallowing condition, physical and life quality were compared before and after surgery and analyzed.At the same time, side effects and complications were recorded during and after surgery.Results All 56 patients were treated successfully with improved covered metallic stents, no complications related with stents occurred after surgery.Swallowing conditions were improved after surgery, there were 45 patients with obvious improvement, 10 patients with better improvement and 1 patient's stent taken out due to stent intolerance.Remission rate of swallowing conditions was 98.2％ (55/56).Two weeks after surgery, Stooler of swallowing conditions obviously improved (t =7.05, P ＜ 0.05), physical conditions (ZPS) also improved (t =22.49, P ＜ 0.05), but there was no significant difference in life quality (Kamofsky scores) (t =1.07, P ＞ 0.05).During 90 days of follow-up there was no hemorrhage or perforation.Conclusion The application of improved covered metallic stents for proximal malignant esophageal strictures is safe and effective.

Objective:To establish adoptive transfer model mice of type 1 diabetes for investigating the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes.Methods:16 NOD.Scid mice were randomly divided into two groups.One was injected i.p. with splenocytes which were obtained from a diabetic NOD mouse and the other was injected with splenocytes obtained from a normal one.The blood glucose levels and weight were detected daily.The mice were killed when they had significant clinic appearance or 10 weeks after cell injection,followed by pathologic studies and cytokine assays.Results:The incidence of adoption group was 8/8 whereas that of control group was 0/8.The pathology scores of 2 groups were 2.5?0.2,0 separately.The amounts of IL-2,IL-10,IFN-? were 60.7 pg/ml,15.5 pg/ml and 20.2 ng/ml respectively in adoption group,and those in control group were 2.4 pg/ml,17.5 pg/ml,3.2 ng/ml.Conclusion:Model mice of type 1 diabetes can be established in NOD.Scid mice during the 5-10 week after adoptive transfer of splenocytes of diabetic NOD mice.

Objective To establish a quantitative biomechanical relationship between the anterior cruciate ligament deficiency and the posterior horn of medial meniscus. Methods 10 human cadaveric knees were examined using an in vitro knee-testing apparatus. In response to a combined 134 N anterior and 200 N axial compressive tibial load, the in situ forces in the posterior horn of medial meniscus were measured. Testing was performed on 10 knees at multiple angles of flexion (30?, 60?, 90?) before and after resection of anterior cruciate ligament. BACKGROUND: Nitric oxide synthase(NOS) is extensively distributed in the central nervous system and modulates neuronal activities. However,there are few reports about NOS' s involvement in nociceptive information transmission at the supraspinal level.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relation between the primary afferent visceral terminials and the NOS-containing neurons which project from the interstitial nucleus of spinal trigeminal tract(INV) to the parabrachial nucleus(PBN).DESIGN: A controlled experimental observation based on the experimental animals.SETTING: Department of anatomy in a military medical university of Chinese PLA.MATERIALS: The experiment was conducted in the Department of Anatomy,Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA,from January to December 2002. Ten adult male SD rats were selected in this experiment.INTERVENTIONS: Tetramethyl rhodamine-dextran(TMR) and biotinylated dextran-amine(BDA) were injected into the PBN and vago-glossopharyngeal nerves respectively combining with the immunohistochemical method for NOS and the observation with laser confocal scanning microscope.MAIN OUTCOME MEASUREES: Overlapping of TMR retrogradely labeled neurons,NOS positive labeled neurons and transganglionic tracing labeled terminals,and their relationship in INV.RESULTS: After injection of TMR into the PBN,the retrogradely labeled neurons,mostly small and medium-sized(below20 μm),were found in the INV ipsilateral to the injection side. The distribution of the NOS positive neurons overlapped with retrogradely labeled neurons in INV. The proportion of the number of double-labeled neurons with NOS/TMR was 55% (17/31)and 34% (17/49) in the whole population of the NOS positive neurons and retrogradely neurons,respectively. Some transganglionic tracing labeled terminals after BDA injection had close contact with the double-labeled neurons.CONCLUSION: The visceral nociceptive pathway exists from INV to PBN and NO may act as the transmitter or neural signal molecule in the transmission and regulation of visceral nociceptive process.
