OBJECTIVETo investigate the efficacy and action mechanisms of Compound Xuanju Capsule (CXC) in the treatment of type III and type IV prostatitis.

METHODSThis study included 88 cases of type III and 18 cases of type IV prostatitis, 14 with male infertility, 27 with ED, and 8 with increased PSA levels. In addition to prostate massage and psychotherapy, the patients were treated with CXC, 3 capsules once, tid, for 3 months. Then changes in relevant indexes were evaluated by the self-control method.

RESULTSThe NIH-CPSI scores of the patients with type III prostatitis were decreased by 47.59% (22.17 +/- 3.48 vs 1.62 +/- 2.53) after 1 month and by 74.61% (22.17 +/- 3.48 vs 5.63 +/- 3.14) after 3 months of CXC medication, with statistically significant differences from the baseline in both the total score and the scores on specific items (P < 0.05). The patients with infertility showed significantly improved sperm quality after treatment as compared with premedication (sperm cone: [12.52 +/- 3.16] x 10(6)/ml vs [28.32 +/- 8.36] x 10(6)/ml, grade a sperm: [10.12 +/- 4.56]% vs [26.06 +/- 10.18]%, grade a + b sperm: [29.89 +/- 8.86]% vs [53.26 +/- 11.29]%) (P < 0.05), and 8 of the patients' spouses got pregnant. Nineteen of the patients with ED were cured, with significant differences in the IIEF-5 score from pretreatment (10.41 +/- 3.65 vs 19.78 +/- 3.00) (P < 0.05). The PSA level was reduced to normal in all the 8 abnormal cases. The WBC count was remarkably decreased and even returned to normal in 19 cases with WBC count > 100/HP ative culture results.

CONCLUSIONCompound Xuanju Capsule is efficacious for type III and type IV prostatitis and those complicated by infertility, ED, PSA elevation, WBC increase, and negative culture results, with no obvious adverse events.

The smooth conversion of scientific achievements in Chinese medicine to standards acts as a bridge in the industrialization process of scientific achievements. By combining scientific researches and standards development of Chinese medicine, this paper analyzed how to establish a mechanism for mutual supports of scientific research and standards development. Based on different categories of scientific achievements in Chinese medicine, this paper ex-plored models for converting fundamental achievements for public wealth and technical achievements for products in-to standards.

Objective To explore the effect of Mudan granule combined with zinc sulfate on ankle brachial index in the treatment of diabetic foot dorsal artery sclerosis and its efficacy.Methods 66 cases of patients with diabetic foot dorsal artery sclerosis in this study were selected and divided into 2 group, 33 cases in each group.Control group received mecobalamin injection and zinc sulfate tablet and treatment group received Mudan granule on the basis of control gorup.7 days for a course of treatment and patients received continuous treatment of 4 courses.Clinical efficacy, blood glucose, blood lipids, blood rheology, blood flow dynamics of the dorsal artery of the foot, ankle brachial index, and adverse reactions were compared after the treatment.Results Compared with the control group after the treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group was higher(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the serum postprandial 2h blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were lower(P<0.05), and high density lipoprotein were higher(P <0.05), the levels of whole blood viscosity high, middle and low shear, plasma viscosity, hematokrit and fibrinogen were lower(P<0.05), the serum levels of appeal index were lower(P<0.05), the blood flow of the dorsal artery, the diameter of the blood vessels and the ankle brachial index were higher (P<0.05), the peak velocity of the dorsal foot artery was lower(P<0.05) .There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the 2 groups.Conclusion Mudan granule combined with zinc sulfate tablet in the treatment of diabetic foot dorsal artery sclerosis was effective with high safety and it could improve ankle brachial index.

Objective To evaluate the capability of SSH/RAD MRH based on SENSE to show gastrointestinal tract anatomic structure,to provide normal anatomic base for gastrointestinal tract disease diagnosis with SSH/RAD MRH and to explore the new examination method for imaging diagnosis in gastrointestinal tract disease.Methods There were 30 healthy volunteers in total including 19 male cases,11 female cases,the age ranging from 20 to 50 with the mean age as 35 year old.All volunteers were asked to drink tap water about 1000-1500mL continuously at 60 minute before examination,to drink tap water 500mL at 20 minute before examination and receive injection of 654-2 10mg in muscle at 10min before examination.MRH were performed by Philips Gyroscan Intera 1.5T superconduct MRI scanner,using SENSE technique,phased-array coil and breath hold.SSH/RAD MRH was performed after the routine abdominal MR scan was done.Results SSH/RAD MRH was successfully performed on all volunteers at one time,and the examination achievement ratio was 100%.All images were evaluated by two senior doctors using blindness method.The ratio of the good-optimal quality images was 93% and the poor-quality images was 7%.Of all images,the stomach manifestation ratio was 65%,the stomach mucous clear manifestation ratio was 80%,the duodenum manifestation ratio was 80%,the jejunum manifestation ratio was 59%,the jejunum diameter was 2-2.5cm,the ileum manifestation ratio was 21%,the ileum diameter was 1.5-2.5cm and the small intestinal mucous clear manifestation ratio was 67%;the colon manifestation ratio was 10% and the colon mucous clear manifestation was 6%.Conclusion SSH/RAD MRH based on SENSE can clearly show the outline and mucous of the stomach,duodenum and jejunum,but can not clearly show the outline and mucous of ileum and colon.The imaging examination that the colon SSH/RAD MRH combined with the routine abdominal MR scan could clearly and conveniently show the anatomical characteristics of gastrointestinal tract.It is a new imaging examination method for gastrointestinal tract examination.

Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of children malignant lymphoma.Method A retrospective study was carried out to analyse the clinical,laboratory and pathological data in 65 patients with malignant lymphoma.Results In the chidren malignant lymphoma,the incidence of nonHodgkin′s lymphoma(NHL) was more than that of Hodgkin′s disease(HL),the ratio of NHL to HL was 2.25∶1.The peak incidence of age was among 6 to 9 years old,the ratio of male to female is about(3.5∶1.)NHL of our children was mostly consised of lymphoblastic lymphoma,anaplastic large-cell lymphoma,diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and Burkitt′s lymphoma.The clinical manifestations were predominantly presented with peripheral nodes intumescing,mediastinal tumeur,abdominal tumeur,bone marrow infiltration.In patients with Hodgkin′s disease,mixed cellularity was the most common pathological category,and cervical painless lymphadenectasis was usually the initial signs in most patients,sometimes accompanied with infiltration of celiac lymph nodes,spleen and bone marrow.Conclusions NHL of our children differs from that of adult in the clinical feature and pathology,while HL of our patients is similar to adults.Since the prognosis of the malignant lymphoma is determined by its pathology,immunohistochemistry plays an important role in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis.J Appl Clin Pediatr,2006,21(3):160-161

Objective:To understand the influence factors of suicidal ideation among college students of military medical university and to provide reasonable suggestion for preventing suicide among college students.Methods:701 college students were investigated and multiple logistic regression was used to analyse the major influence factors for suicidal ideation Results:Multiple logistic regression analysis shows the major influence factors for suicidal ideation are score,depression,life events and social support.Conclusions:According to the influence factors of suicidal ideation,taking appropriate measures to prevent suicide among college students is an urgent task.

Mild cognitive impairment(MCI)is a new concept put forward in recent years.It is a transtrional state between normal aging and dementia.Prospective studies have shown that the orbebility of the patients with MCI converted to dementia is significantly higher than the normal aged.population.The correct diagnosis of MCI contributes to screen the high-risk population of dementia.It will provide the possibility for preventing dementia and decreasing the morbidity of dementia.
