The serum level of cholygylycine acid was determined in 118 patients with liver cirrhosis and the patients were followed up for 1 year.37 patients out of the 118 died in the fol-lowup period.It was found that the serum level of cholygylycine acid was more closely correlated with the mortality rate of the patients with liver cirrhosis than other commonly used indices such as hepatic encephalopathy,ascites.nutritional status,hihrubin,albumin and gamma-globulin.The serum level of cholygylycine acid was compared with Child's grading concerning the prediction of the mortality rate.After Logistic regression analysis.it was confirmed that the serum level of cholygylycine acid was the most ideal index for the prognosis of the patients with liver cirrhosis.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinic significance of the temporal bone high-resolution CT in discovering unilateral sensorineural hearing loss of adolescents, and to provide the basis for the rational using of medical resources. METHOD: A retrospective study was conducted on 28 outpatients with unilateral sensorineural hearing loss at unsure time. Their medical history and CT examine were reevaluated,combined with associated articles in this report. RESULT: All of the 28 patients with unilateral sensorineural hearing loss had the normal external ear and middle ear and received CT scan. Nine out of twenty-eight cases had inner ear malformation. Among the nine cases, 1 cases was Mondini malformation and 1 cases was common cavity, 5 cases were single stenosis of IAC, and 2 cases were semicircular canal and vestibular malformation. 19 cases were not found abnormal by CT, and 4 cases had had suffered from mumps. CONCLUSION CT scan was available in diagnosis of unsudden unilateral sensorineural hearing loss, which would help us to use medical resource more rationally.

Objective To construct the eukaryotic expression vector of linker for activation of T cells(LAT) gene in mouse. MethodsLAT cDNA of mouse mononuclear cells was amplified with polymerase chain reaction.The fragment was inserted into the eukaryotic expression vector of pCMV-HA plasmid.The recombinant plasmid was verified by DNA sequencing and used to transfect lymphocytes of the asthmatic model. Results The length of amplified fragment was 729 bp.The sequence of LAT gene was confirmed by Genbank.The LAT protein could be detected in the lymphocytes of asthmatic model.Conclusion The recombinant eukaryotic expression vector pCMV-HA-LAT can be successfully constructed.

Objective To construct a luciferase reporter plasmid containing interferon regulatory factor 3(IRF-3)human gene promoter and to evaluate promoter activity in human embryonic kidney(HEK)-293 cells.Methods The 1 000 bp fragment was amplified by PCR with human genomic DNA as a template and was directionally cloned into pGL3-basic multiple cloning sites to construct the luciferase repor-ter plasmid pGL3-pIRF-3.Transfection of HEK-293 cells with the promoter-driven lucife-rase construct was performed to induce lucife-rase gene expression and calculate the relative luciferase activity unit(RLU).Promoter sequence of 1 000 bp upstream of transcription initiation site of IRF-3 was analyzed by using Promoter 2.0 Prediction software.Results DNA sequencing and restriction endonuclease analysis verified the successful construction of the plasmid pGL3-pIRF-3.This IRF-3 promoter exhibited a strong promoter activity with an increase of 42.2-fold of RLU in HEK-293 cells when compared with pGL-3 basic vector.The transfection experiment confirmed that the levels of its activation were significantly higher than that in controls in HEK-293 cells.Function analysis of IRF-3 promoter disclosed seve-ral GATA-1 and specific protein 1(Sp1) sites and E2F in minimal promoter region.Conclusion The plasmid pGL3-pIRF-3 promoter is successfully constructed and has a strong basal promoter activity in HEK-293 cells.

Objective To explore the influence of human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG)on testicular germ cell apoptosis of experimental unilateral cryptorchidism in rats.Methods Forty immature male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into unilateral cryptorchi-dism group(n=20) and sham operation group(n=20).The 2 groups were divided into group treated with HCG and group without HCG.At age 21 days,unilateral cryptorchidism was produced.Half of the rats were injected with 20 U HCG from day 22 to 34 every other day.At age of 35 d and 60 d,rats were sacrificed for detection germ cell apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL).Results Apoptosis index(AI) of cryptorchidism testis were higher compared with the scrotal testis in sham operation group(P0.05).AI of the scrotal testis of sham operation group and unilateral cryptorchidism group with HCG was higher compared with the correspond groups without HCG,and there were significant difference of AI between sham operation group and the correspond group without HCG at age 35 days(P0.05).Conclusions AI of testicular is increased both in cryptorchidism testis and scrotal testis in experimental unilateral cryptorchidism;HCG adds the number of apoptotic germ cells,and histology damage of testis is not completely recovery after stop using HCG.So clinical application of HCG must be cautious and operation ought to be done as early as possible in cryptorchidism.

A laboratory scale combination process of anaerobic baffled reactor(ABR) with sequencing batch reactor(SBR) for treatment of real dyeing wastewater was studied.The effects of operational conditions were investigated.The results demonstrated that removal rates of COD,colour and aniline were 32%~95%,89%~99% and 50%~98%,respectively,the effluents of COD were 30.0 ~97.1mg/L,colour were 8 ~40 times dilution ratio,concentration of aniline were 0.20 ~0.95 mg/L,which could meet the National Discharge Criteria(GradeⅠ) under the operational conditions of HRTs of 24~36 h,organic loading rates of 0.43 ~2.46 kg COD/(m~(3)?d),the influent pH values of 6.5~8.0,ambient temperatures of 20℃~35℃ at the ABR stage and DOs of 2 mg/L,reaction times of 3~10h,settle times of 2 h at the SBR stage.

Dongting Lake area is one of the major marshland schistosomiasis endemic areas in China. In recent years spatial epidemiology is widely used in the research of schistosomiasis which is a new opportunity to break through the current wander-ing situation of schistosomiasis control. In this article both the generalized and Dongting-Lake-specific epidemic indicators of schistosomiasis are reviewed to provide the basis to construct the schistosomiasis Geographic Information System GIS database of Hunan Province.

To learn about the economic studies on traditional Chinese medicines in domestic literatures, in order to analyze the current economic assessment of traditional Chinese medicines and explore the existing problems. Efforts were made to search CNKI, VIP, Wanfang database and CBM by computer and include all literatures about economic assessment of traditional Chinese medicines published on professional domestic journals in the systematic assessment and quality evaluation. Finally, 50 articles were included in the study, and the systematic assessment and quality evaluation were made for them in terms of titles, year, authors' identity, expense source, disease type, study perspective, study design type, study target, study target source, time limit, cost calculation, effect indicator, analytical technique and sensitivity analysis. The finally quality score was 0.74, which is very low. The results of the study showed insufficient studies on economics of traditional Chinese medicines, short study duration and simple evaluation methods, which will be solved through unremitting efforts in the future.

Objective To evaluate the prognosis influencing factors of early non-small cell luny cancer (NSCLC) after radiotherapy.Methods 81 early NSCLC patients received definitive radiotherapy and were eligible.Among these patients,60 were diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma,16 were adenocarcinoma and 5 were diagnosed through imaging instead of pathology.45 patients received conventional radiotherapy,36 patients received three dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT),All of them received a total dose of 50-96 Gy with a median dose of 67.8 Gy. Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Cox regression model analysis were applied to evaluate the survival and prognostic factors. Results The median survival time was 34 months.The 1-,3- and 5-year survival rates (OS) were 88.7 ％,41.9 ％,21.8 ％,respectively.Karnofsky performance status≥80,Clinical stage, diameter≤4 cm and the therapeutic effect were associated with improving overall survival.Cox hazards model showed that Karnofsky performance status≥ 80 and diameter≤4 cm were likely to be independent positive prognostic factors. Conclusion Karnofsky performance status and tumor diamater can be used to evaluate the prognosis of early NSCLC after radiotherapy.
