The early diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma is difficult, and the prognosis is poor. The molecular mechanisms underlying the development, growth and metastatic spread of biliary tract cancers are still unclear. The increase in worldwide incidence and mortality of cholangiocarcinoma justifies the impellent need to clarify the intracellular mechanisms triggering the malignant transformation of the biliary epithelium and growth of biliary malignancies. A more complete characterization of the molecular pathology of bile duct cancers could lead to the identification of valid targets for diagnosis and therapy of these devastating malignancies. This review describes the scientific progress made over the past years with regard to the understanding of the molecular processes of cholangiocarcinogenesis.

Objective To study the sensitivity and specificity of oligoclonal bands (OCBs) and intrathecal IgG synthesis rate (IgG Syn) for diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and the correlation between qualitative and quantitative indices.Methods Albumin and IgG concentrations in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum from 30 patients with MS, 40 with other nervous system inflammatory diseases (NID) and 22 with nervous system noninflammatory diseases (NNID) were determined by rate nephelometry method. OCBs in the CSF were detected using isoelectric focusing combined with silver staining, and IgG Syn was calculated. BACKGROUND: Cytokine abnormality, nerve function abnormality and hormone levels may contribute to osteoporosis occurrence following spinal cord injury (SCI), many papers are about cytokine and hormone, but fewer is related to abnormal nerve function on bone accommodation.OBJECTIVE: To innovatively apply blood biochemistry and immunohistochemistry on the observation of change of calcitonin gene-related peptide distributing in trabecular bone of SCI rats, and to analyze its significance in the osteoporosis. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Randomized control animal trials were performed from September 2008 to December 2008 at the laboratory of Orthopedic Institute in the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA,MATERIALS: Forty-eight Sprague Dawley rats aged 3 months, weighing (210:1:16) g, were divided into SCI group and control group equally. METHODS: Rats in the SCI group underwent spinal cord transection at the tenth thoracic vertebrae. Control rats underwent laminectomy without any spinal cord lesion. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Each 8 rats were sacrificed at 1, 3, 6 weeks postoperatively. The serum concentrations of bone-specific alkaline phosphotase and serum cross-linked N-telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen were determined. The stain intensity of calcitonin gene-related peptide in trabacular bone was determined with use of quantitative immunohistochemistry technique and computer image analysis system.RESULTS: The cross-linked N-telopeptida of type Ⅰ collagen significantly increased in SCI group at defferent interval compared with control group (P <0.05 or 0.01 ), serum concentrations of bone-specific alkaline phosphotase was lower than control group,without significant difference (P > 0.05). Immunoreactivity of calcitonin gene-related peptide in trabecular bone was strongly positive in control group, while weakened in SCI group (P < 0.05 or 0.01).CONCLUSION: Reduced calcitonin gene-related peptide in trabecular bone of SCI rats may be related to the occurrence of osteoporosis following SCI.

Since the oral rehydration salts solution(ORS) has been used to treat acute diarrhea of children, there are different kinds of ORS in order to satisfy the need of clinical work. They are the initial WHO-ORS, other substances-supplemented ORS and the reduced osmolarity ORS, each of which has their own efficiency and advantage.

Objective To explore the effect of employee assistance program on male nurses' professional values and professional identity.Methods Fifty male nurses participated in the program by group counseling and individual counseling.The professional values scale (NPVS-R) and the occupational identity scale were used to investigate the changes in their professional values and occupational identity before and after the intervention.Result After intervention,the occupational values and occupational identity of male nurses were significantly better than before intervention (P＜0.01).Conclusion The employee assistance program for male nurses can promote the formation of positive professional values and professional identity sense.

Objective: To study the right hemisphere function state of NLD children. Methods: Adapting tachistoscopic vision and Benton Revised Visual Retention Test (VRT), three groups involving 20 children each were studied. Results: Under the tachistoscopic vision, NLD children achived poorly in recognition of nonverbal stimulus; and they do worse also in VRT test, with more errors of omission and distortion. Conclusion: Compared with normal children, the function of NLD children's right hemisphere is relatively weaker.

Objective To describe the status and analyze the influencing factors of nurses' compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction in a certain tertiary hospital,which may provide evidences for the emotional management of nurses by nursing managers.Methods A cross-sectional survey was used in this study and 246 nurses were recruited totally.They investigated about compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction by questionnaires.Results The average score of nurses' compassion fatigue was (30.76± 5.61)points.The average score of nurses' compassion satisfaction was (25.68±4.12)points.There was a significant difference for nurses' compassion fatigue in various wards,and ICU nurses had the top score.There were no significant differences for nurses' compassion satisfaction.Conclusions The nurses' compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction in this hospital was relatively moderate.ICU nurses' compassion fatigue score was higher than other wards.Education background,professional title,relationship with colleagues,extra work,support from leaders and family members,wards,education background and relationship with colleagues were the influencing factors of nurses' compassion satisfaction score.
