Objective To evaluate the clinical features, diagnosis, and outcome of the treatment of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis, and the relationship between CMV retinitis and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Methods A total of 95 eyes of 56 patients with cytomegalovirus retinitis and AIDS were studied. The fundus feature, visual acuity and CD4 + T lymphocyte counts were analyzed and the follow up periods ranged from 2 weeks to 18 months. Results Before the definitive diagnosis of CMV retinitis, the courses of AIDS were 4 to 26 months in all patients. In the initial examination, the granular form of CMV retinal lesion was noted in 55 eyes (57%) in which retinal lesion of 46 eyes was peripheral. The fulminant form of CMV retinitis of 25 eyes (26%) was found in the posterior pole and consisted of densely opaque retinal lesions with blotchy hemorrhage and vasculitis. The overlap between these two presentations was noted in 15 eyes. Papillitis was observed in 7 eyes of CMV retinitis in this series of patients. The visual acuity ranged from finger counting to 0.5. The patients with extensive CMV retinitis or CMV retinitis in the posterior pole got poorer vision. The CD4 + T lymphocyte counts of 30 patients was 0 30 (mean, 15?9/?l), and the survival time ranged from 2 weeks to 18 months (mean, 6.4?3.3 months). The vision was improved and CD4 + T lymphocyte counts was significantly higher in the group treated with ganciclovir, and progression of CMV retinitis occured and the vision decreased in the non treated group. Conclusion CMV retinitis is the most common intraocular complication in patients with AIDS. Diagnosis of CMV retinitis is based on the characteristic of necrotizing retinitis which was typically associated with retinal hemorrhage and vasculitis. Ganciclovir is effective for the treatment of CMV retinitis.

Objective To investigate the action mechanism of microRNA‐152(miRNA‐152) in the cisplatin(DDP) resistance process in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) .Methods The miRNA‐152 level in NSCLC cell line A549 and its cisplatin‐resistant cell line A549/DDP was detected by the real time quantitative PCR(qRT‐PCR) .miRNA‐152 mimic was transfected for increasing the intracellular miRNA‐152 level in A549/DDP .The MTT assay ,inverted miroscope technique and flow cytometry were adopted to observe the effect of up‐regulating miRNA‐152 on cell proliferation inhibition and apoptosis ,meanwhile ,the level changes of intra‐cellular Bcl‐2 and NF‐κB were also observed by adopting qRT‐PCR and Western blot .Results The low expression of miRNA‐152 and the high expression of Bcl‐2 and NF‐κB were found in A549/DDP cells .Up‐regulation of miRNA‐152 enhanced the inhibitory effect of DDP in A549/DDP cells .Furthermore ,after up‐regulating miRNA‐152 ,the inhibiting rate and apoptosis rate of A549/DDP cells caused by DDP were significantly higher than those in the cells without up‐regulating miRNA‐152 ,the difference was statisti‐cally significant(P<0 .05) .In addition ,miRNA‐152 mimic transfection significantly decreased the expression of Bcl‐2 and NF‐κB in A549/DDP cells .Conclusion Low expression of miRNA‐152 may induce the resistance of NSCLC to DDP ,miRNA‐152 could medi‐ate the sensitivity of NSCLC cells to DDP via regulating Bcl‐2 and NF‐κB levels .

Purpose To evaluate the clinical safety of ionic contrast media made in china and compare with nonionic contrast media being imported. Methods Among contrast-enhanced CT 1096 cases, 76% meglumine diatrizoate were administed in 864 cases and ultravist in 232 cases , comparative studies on adverse drug reactions(ADRs) and image quality were performed. Results In 76% meglumine diatrizoate group , the prevalence of overall and mild -middle ADRs was higher than in the ultravist group , the prevalence of severe and potentially life-threatening ADRs was approximate in the ultravist group , the image quality was well than in the ultravist group.Preventive inoculation alleviated ADRs at all levels. Conclusion Ionic contrast media made in china was safe and effective in patients without hyperthyroidism after preventive inoculation.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(07):-
Fungal polyketide synthases are responsible for the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites such as pigments, mycotoxins, and they are very important in pharmacology , food science and agriculture. The recent advances in the methods for the isolation and manipulation of multiple classes of polyketide synthase genes from fungi were introduced. It is useful for discovery of novel fungal polyketide synthase gene clusters. These methods can also be useful for revealing the genetic potential of fungi to produce multiple types of bioactive polyketide.

Objective:To study the detection value of platelet activation indexes and platelet parameters in patients with hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis.Methods:40 patients with hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis in our hospital from November 2015 to August 2016 were selected as the observation group.40 healthy subjects went through physical examination during the same period were chosen as the control group. The platelet activation indexes and platelet parameters of subjects with same age in two groups were detected and compared. The detection results of the two items in patients with different stages of hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis were compared, too. Results:The PLT of observation group was lower than that of control group, while the other platelet parameters and platelet activation indexes were all higher than those of control group. The detection results of two items in patients with different stages of hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis were with significant differences, all P<0.05.Conclusion:The platelet activation indexes and platelet parameters in patients with hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis are obviously abnormally expressed. There are significant differences among the detection results in patients with different stages. Therefore, surveillance of those indexes in patients with hepatitis B-induced cirrhosis should be strengthened.
