To study and compare the protective effects of Cordyceps sinensis from different habitats on acute injury of hepatic tissue induced by carbon tetrachloride ( CCl4 ) . Methods:The rat model of acute injury of hepatic tissue induced by CCl4 was established. The biochemical indicators of alanine aminotranferease ( ALT) and aspartate aminotransferease ( AST) in the serum and superoxide dismutase ( SOD) and L-glutathione( GSH) in the liver tissue were detected, and the liver tissue HE staining was used for the histopathology determination. Results:Compared with those in the model group, the levels of AST and ALT in the serum were sig-nificantly reduced, the levels of SOD and GSH in the liver tissue were notably increased, and the necrosis of liver cells was improved in Cordyceps sinensis groups at low, medium and high dose from different habitats (P<0. 05), however, the differences between the two different habitats were not significant (P>0. 05). Conclusion: Cordyceps sinensis from Qinghai and Tibet shows some positive differences in the protective effect on the acute chemical liver injury induced by CCl4 in rats, however, the differences are not remarka-ble.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(08):-
Mice was stimulated by peptidoglycan from Lactobacillus sp and detect cytokines production。It was found that PG induced the production of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1,TNF-? in peritoneal macrophages,IFN-? in spleen cell)and did not induce the IL-2 production in spleen cell. Affymetrix MOE430A genechip was used to analyze changed gene expression of immune cells. It was found that expression of cytokines and related genes were changed under peptidoglycan administration. This might induced by activation of TLR-NF-?B signal pathway.

Objective To investigate the effect of cordyceps sinensis from different origins on immune response in mice. Methods Cordyceps sinensis from two origins were prepared into powder, and then the mice were divided into high, middle and low dose(0.4,0.2,0.1 g.kg-1)groups, respectively. In addition, purified water was given as the normal control group.Effects of cordyceps from two different origins were observed by detecting spleen lymphocyte proliferation induced by ConA, delayed type hypersensitivity ( DTH) in mice induced by sheep red blood cells ( SRBC ) , the number of antibody-producing cells, carbon clearance and peritoneal macrophages Swallow fluorescent microspheres, as well as the activity of NK cells. Results The ability of spleen lymphocyte proliferation induced by ConA, carbon clearance and peritoneal macrophages Swallow fluorescent microspheres, and the activity of NK cells were significantly enhanced in the middle and high dose group of two different origins cordyceps, compared with normal control group (P<0.05).Additionally, the number of antibody-producing cells was obviously increased in medium dose group of both origins cordyceps and decreased in the high dose group (P<0.05).The middle and high dose Qinghai cordyceps significantly improved DTH in mice, while Tibet cordyceps sinensis had no obvious effect, and there was significant difference (P<0.05) between the high dose group of Qinghai and three dose groups of Tibet Cordyceps sinensis. In addition, levels of serum hemolysin in mice were significantly increased in the middle and high dose group of Qinghai and high dose group of Tibet Cordyceps sinensis (P<0.05), and the differences of corresponding medium and high doses of two origins were significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusion Cordyceps sinensis of both different regions significantly improved the immune response of mice. However, the efficacy between the two origins was roughly equivalent and had no significant difference.

Objective To assess temporary filter in the inferior vena cava (IVC) for trapping thrombus and preventing pulmonary embolism in patients with deep vein thrombosis. Methods In 58 cases of deep vein thrombus in single lower extremity, Antheor temporary filter (ATF) was introduced into IVC prior to anticoagulation and/or vascular intraluminal procedures. Results All IVC filters were successfully introduced. No symptomatic pulmonary embolism was documented. ATF was removed after a mean of 12.0?2.0 days. Thrombus was trapped in 46 cases (79.3%). Thrombus more than 1 cm in size was trapped in 2 cases. Conclusion Temporary filter was safe and effective in prevention of pulmonary embolism.
9.Analysis of therapeutic strategies and prognostic factors of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissue.
Chinese Journal of Surgery 2011;49(11):974-977
OBJECTIVETo assess the therapeutic strategies and risk factors of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissue.
METHODSThe 78 cases with malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft tissue treated at Muscular Skeletal Tumor Center of People's Hospital, Peking University from December 1999 and October 2010 were retrospected. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to determine the probable risk factors including sex, age, tumor location, tumor size and so on.
RESULTSAll 60 cases were followed up ranged from 6 to 131 months (medium 35.5 months). The 1-, 3-, 5-year overall survival rate was 84.9%, 72.9% and 56.9% respectively. Local recurrence rate is 33.3% (20 cases) with a median time of 11.5 months (1 to 72 months) and metastatic rate is 15.0% (9 cases) with a median time of 7 months (1 to 26 months). Univariate analysis indicated that condition of presentation (primary case or recurrence case), tumor size and surgical margin were significantly related to survival rate (all P < 0.05, Kaplan-Meier Log-rank test), surgical margin and radiotherapy related to local recurrence rate (P value were 0.000 and 0.039 respectively), and surgical margin related to metastatic rate. Multivariate analysis showed that surgical margin was independent risk factors for survival rate (P = 0.002, OR = 5.753, 95%CI 1.904 - 17.386) and local recurrence rate (P = 0.000, RR = 0.044, 95%CI 0.010 - 0.188).
CONCLUSIONSSurgical margin was independent risk factors for survival rate and local recurrence rate. Comprehensive therapy of surgery followed by radiotherapy can improve survival rate, reduce local recurrence rate.
