Objective To study the impact on the radiation dose, organ doses of eye lens and thyroid and image quality with different scanning modes in head and neck CT scan. Methods The simulation phantom of head and neck was scanned by using fixed scanning condition (120 kV and 200 mAs),as well as the combinations of automatic tube current modulation (CARE Dose 4D),automatic tube voltage modulation technique (CARE kV) and partial angle scanning mode (X-CARE) respectively.Six kinds of scanning modes were adopted, including 120 kV +200 mAs,120 kV + 200 mAs + X-CARE,CARE Dose 4D + 120 kV,CARE Dose 4D + 120 kV + X-CARE,CARE Dose 4D + CARE kV,CARE Dose 4D + CARE kV + X-CARE.Two thermolumineseece dosimeters (TLDs) were exposed at the skin surface positions of eye lens and thyroid, and the values measured with two TLDs were averaged. The CT dose index volume (CTDIvol) and dose length product (DLP) for every scan were recorded, and the contrast to noise ratio (CNR) in eye lens section and thyroid section were measured. Results The crgan doses of lens and thyroid were 19.8 and 26 mGy at 120 kV and 200 mAs,as well as 13.3 and 22.2 mGv at X-CARE mode.Compared with the manual selection of 120 kV,the combination of CARE kV and CARE Dose 4D made the values of CTDIvol drop from 13.1 to 10.1 mGy,the doses of eye lens and thyroid from 16.6 and 20.8 mGy to 23.7 and 19.9 mGy respectively, while the image quality reducedsignificantly.Compared with CARE Dose 4D + 120 kV,the organ doses of eye lens and thyroid were reduced from 20.8 and 23.7 mGy to 9.6 and 15.1 mGy for with additional X-CARE,while CTDIvol dropped from 13.1 to 9.3 mGy.When the combination of CARE Dose 4D + CARE kV + X-CARE was used,CTDIvol and organ doses were reduced to a minimum, when the CNRs of head and neck were also minimized. Conclusions The scanning mode CARE Dose 4D + 120 kV + X-CARE for head and CARE Dose 4D + CARE kV for neck can effectively reduce the radiation dose while keeping good image quality. When requirements for image quality are not high,CARE Dose 4D + CARE kV + X-CARE mode can be selected to reduce the radiation dose significantly.

Objective To observe changes of the structure and function of microvessels during the formation and development of the rat cerebral glioma with steady-state susceptibility contrast-enhanced MR imaging. Methods A total of 30 bearing-tumor rats were divided into 3 groups (1-week group, 2-week group and 3-week group) and underwent MR examination. Blood volime (BV) and vessel size index (VSI_(MRI)) of peripheral tumor areas, central tumor areas and normal cerebral tissue in the opposite side were measured, and compared with histologic findings. Results With time of bearing-tumor increasing, BV of central tumor area present an up-and-down curve-like change, which related to the host blood vessel regression in tumor central area, the decreasing of blood vessel density and histopathologically obvious necrosis. BV of peripheral tumor areas increased because of active blood angiogenesis in this area, while VSI_(MRI) increased gradually, especially in the central tumor area. There was obviously correlation between the VSI_(MRI) and VSI _(histo) (P<0.01). Conclusion BV and VSI_(MRI) can exactly reflect the morphology and functional information of microcirculation of tumor during the growth and development of gliomas.

Objective To explore the of value steady-state susceptibility contrast-enhanced MRI (SSCE-MRI) in assessment of anti-angiogenesis therapy in rat C6 glioma. Methods Seventeen rats with the bearing-tumor were randomly divided into the therapy group (n=8) and the contrast group (n=9). Human-recombination endostatin (10 mg/kg) was injected to animals in therapy group, and saline of the same dose was injected to the contrast group for 7 days. Blood volume (BV) and vessel size index (VSI) were measured of tumors in peripheral, central and normal areas with MR pre- and post-therapy. Results After therapy of endostatin, the tumor volume was obviously different between therapy group and contrast group (t=5.26, P<0.05). BV and VSI_(MRI) of tumor decreased in both peripheral and central areas, particularly in the peripheral area (t=4.14, 3.66, all P<0.01). Conclusion Assessment of therapeutic effect of anti-angiogenesis in C6 glioma is feasible with SSCE-MRI, and it can reflect the changes of BV and VSI_(MRI) pre- and post-therapy.

This paper proposed a rehabilitation training system with electromyography (sEMG) feedback for stroke patients based on ARM embedded system and LabVIEW. The system can achieve real-time acquisition, processing and dualview of multi-channel sEMGs and compute related sEMG parameters including iEMG, RMS, MPF and co-contraction ratio. The system was detected by clinical experiments and related inspection department. The result showed that the system is functional, interactive and in accordance with the relevant standards for medical devices so that it can fully satisfy the clinical demands. In addition, the system can help doctors to master the training state of the patient more effectively in a real-time and quantitative way that is direct to improve the training programs of stroke patients.

Objective To investigate the changes of QT dispersion and heart rate variability in children with ventricular contraction. Methods 50 healthy children who came for medical examinations at Chengdu Women′s and Children′s Central Hospital from January 2012 to January 2014 were selected as control group. 147 children with ventricular contraction admitted in Pediatric Intracardiac Department of Chengdu Women′s and Children′s Central Hospital from January 2012 to January 2014 were divided them into Benign Group (LownⅠ&LownⅡ) and Malignant Group(LownⅢ, LownⅣA, LownⅣB&LownⅤ) according to the results of Lown classification. Benign Group contained 90 cases while Malignant Group contained 57 cases. Difference in QT dispersion and indices of heart rate variability of the three groups were compared. Results There were no statistically differences between control group and benign group in QT dispersion (P > 0.05). QT dispersion of malignant group was much longer than that of control group and the differences had statistically meaning(P<0.001). SDNN(standard deviation of NN intervals) , SDANN (standard deviation of the averages of RR intervals ), SDNN index (index of standard deviation of the averages of NN intervals), rMSSD(root mean square of successive differences) and PNN50(percentage of successive normal sinus RR intervals>50 ms) of malignant group was much shorter than that of control group and benign group and the differences had statistically meaning (P< 0.01). SDNN, SDANN and SDNN index of benign group was shorter than that of control group and the differences had statistically meaning (P<0.05). Conclusions Heart rate variability of children with malignant ventricular contraction becomes significantly shorter and QT dispersion becomes significantly longer. Detection of QT dispersion and heart rate variability can effectively predict the risky degree of ventricular contraction in children.
