Breast cancer stem cells (BCSC) are group of cells exhibiting self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation potentials. These cells have an important role in the occurrence, development, metastasis, and recurrence of breast cancer. In normal circumstances, the ability of mammary stem cells to differentiate and undergo self-renewal is governed by related signaling pathways. After this mechanism is destroyed, breast stem cells undergo abnormal differentiation, forming breast cancer stem cells that unlimitedly proliferate to develop into breast cancer. As research on BCSC increasingly deepens, regulation of BCSC by notch signaling and its crosstalk with several signaling pathways have drawn a great deal of attention in this field. This paper reports the signaling pathways of breast cancer stem cells and latest studies on this field to better understand the essential role of notch signaling pathway in the occurrence and development of breast cancer and corresponding clinical targeted therapy.

Objective To screen for the causative genes involved in the occurrence and development of minimal changes nephritic syndrome(MCNS) and to furtherly assist the genetic diagnosis and treatment of MCNS.Methods Human genome U133 Array Set from Affymetrix Inc was used to evaluate gene expression patterns in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) isolated from 7 children with primary MCNS and 7 age-matched health volunteers.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and real-time PCR were performed to identify the findings of gene chip.Results Of 33 000 genes detected,969 genes showed significant difference between children with(MCNS) and healthy volunteers;552 genes were up-regulated,while 417 genes down-regulated significantly.Findings from RT-PCR and real-time PCR were consistent with those of gene chip.Conclusions Gene chip of expression patterns is a powerful method to detect expression difference of genes correlated with MCNS.Occurrence and development of MCNS can be a complicated process that many correlative genes may participate in.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the enantioselectivity of norgestrel (NG) transdermal permeation and the potential influence of linalool and lipids on the enantioselectivity. In vitro skin permeation studies of NG across the excised rat skins were performed with Valia-Chien diffusion cells, and the permeation samples were analyzed by enantioselective HPLC. The possible enantioselective permeation of NG across intact rat back skin and lipids extracted rat back skin and the influence of linalool were evaluated. The skin permeation rate of dl-NG was two times higher than that of l-NG when donor solutions (EtOH/H2O 2 : 8, v/v) containing l-NG or dl-NG. It may be mainly attributed to the solubility discrepancy between enantiomer and racemate. The enantioselective permeation of dl-NG across intact rat skin was observed when the donor solutions containing dl-linalool. The permeation flux of l-NG was 22% higher than that of d-NG. But interestingly, the enantioselective permeation of dl-NG disappeared under the same experimental condition except that the lipid extracted rat skin was used. Attenuated total reflection-fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis of stratum corneum showed that the wave number for asymmetric CH2 stretching vibrations of lipids treated with dl-linalool was greater than that of the control. The results indicated that the enantioselective permeation of NG may be contributed by the interaction between dl-linalool and lipids. More than half of lipids were composed of ceramides. The stereospecific interaction maybe existed among chiral enhancer (linalool), lipids (ceramides) and/or chiral drugs (NG).

By Silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and other materials for isolation and purification and by physicochemical methods and spectral analysis for structural identification, 32 compounds were isolated and identified from ethyl acetate portion of alcohol extract of the Osmanthus fragrans. Their structures were identified as boschniakinic acid (1), ursolaldehyde (2), augustic acid (3), arjunolic acid (4), 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde (5), isoscutellarein (6), 6, 7-dihydroxycoumarin (7), 2α-hydroxy-oleanolic acid (8), quercetin-3-0-β-D-glu-copyranoside (9), D-allito (10), 5, 4'-dihydroxy-7- methoxyflavone-3-0-β-D-glucopyranoside (11), 5,7-dihydroxychromone (12), lupeol (13), naringenin (14), acetyloleanolic acid (15), chlorogenic acid (16), kaempferol-3-0-β- D-glucopyranoside (17), oleanolic acid (18), kaempferol-3-0-β-D-galactopyanoside (19), 3', 7-dihydroxy-4'-methoxyisoflavon (20), ergosta-4,6,8 (14), 22-tetraen-3-one (21), p-hydroxycinnamic acid (22), syringaresinol (23), 3,4-dihydroxyacetophenonel (24), β-sitosterol (25), ethyl p-hydroxyphenylacetate (26), benzoic acid (27), caffeic acid (28), coelonin (29), p-hydorxy-phenylacetic acid (30), p-hydroxyacetophenone (31), and methyl-p-hydroxphenylacetate (32). Objective To compare and quantify the determinants in quantitative electroencephalogram(q-EEG) and heart rate variability power spectrum analysis(HRV-PSA) of ketamme(KTM) anesthesia for preschoolers. Methods Seventy four cases were selected and assigned into 3 groups named A(4-5 years), B(5-6 years), C(6-7 years), 22,28,24 cases in every group respectively. All cases were induced with KTM 5 mg /kg intramuscularly and changes of determinants were recorded continuously. If body movement happened, KTM would be injected with 1 mg/kg. Results On pre- anesthesia, BIS in group A was the least among 3 groups, while LF/HF and HRVI were the largest(P
