Objective To assess the effectiveness of tension-free vaginal tape obturator tape(TVT-O)as treatment of SUI by means of a systematic review and meta analysis.Methods Using the search terms"TVT,TVT-O,SUI,RCT,TOT",the literature in Chinese and English from January 2001 tO March 2007 on the difference of TVT and TVT-O was searched from MEDLINE,PUBMED,EMBASE,Google Scholar,CNKI,WAN FANG DATA,and criteria randomized controlled trials(RCTs)were studied by Meta-analysis in RevMan 4.2.At the same time,Ors of randomized model and fixed model were calculated tO evaluate the sensitivity.Results There were six RCTs that compared TVT-O with TVT.When compared by Subjective cure,TVT-O at 1-17 months were no better than TVT(OR 0.67;95% CI 0.40,1.13).Adverse events such as bladder injuries (OR 0.15;95% CI 0.03,0.66)was less common,where as groin/thigh pain(OR 8.61;95% CI3.03,24.52)was more common;but there were rio significant difference in de novo urgency(OR=1.16;95% CI 0.54,2.47),urinary retention(OR=0.54;95% CI 0.24,1.20)or urinary tract infection(OR=1.07;95% CI 0.61,1.87)between the tWO groups.Conclusions There is no significant difference between TVT and TVT-O.TVT-O group had no bladder injuries complications,but groin/thigh pain was more common.

AIM:To investigate the effects of uric acid sodium salt (UANa) as adjuvant on humoral and cellular immune response in BALB/c mice. METHODS:BALB/c mice were immunized with trichosanthin (TCS) as antigen together with UANa suspension as adjuvant. The antibody titers of IgG were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Dendritic cells (DC) were induced in vitro,the phenotypes of DC were analyzed by flow cytometry and the effect of UANa on DC maturity was evaluated. A delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) model was used to analyze the effect of UANa on cellular immune responses in vivo. The in vitro proliferation of lymphocytes was determined by ConA stimulation. RESULTS:Freund's adjuvant greatly enhanced the antibody response of mice to TCS,while UANa adjuvant failed to promote the antibody response but significantly reduced the antibody response as compared to TCS only. No effect of UANa on the expression of CD11c and CD83 in DC was observed by flow cytometry analysis. However,UANa significantly enhanced the expression of MHC II molecule. In the DTH model,UANa enhanced the degree of allergen-induced ear swelling and promoted the ability of lymphocyte proliferation in vitro. CONCLUSION:UANa suspension as adjuvant significantly enhances the cellular immune response but inhibits the humoral immune response to a certain degree,suggesting that UANa has potential application in the vaccine research.

Objective:To identify the tannin-related constituents in the extracts of pomegranate peel by HPLC-ESI-MS. Methods:The separation was performed on a Kromasil C18 column (250 mm × 4. 6 mm,5 μm) with the mobile phase of water and acetonitrile. The flow rate was maintained at 1. 0 ml·min-1 and the detection wavelength was set at 256nm. The samples were analyzed in negative modes. Results:Five tannin-related constituents including gallic acid, punicalin,punicalagin,corilagin and ellagic acid were identified from the extracts of pomegranate peel. Conclusion:The new method is accurate and rapid. It can be used to identify the tannin-related constituents in pomegranate peel and provide new ideas for the research of active components in traditional Chinese medicine as well.

Objective To investigate the effects of recombinant human augmenter of liver regeneration (rhALR) on renal inflammation in acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by renal ischemia reperfusion (IR). Methods SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operated group,IR group,rhALR1 group (100 μg/kg) and rhALR2 group (200 μg/kg).Both renal pedicles of rats were identified and occluded with microvascular clamps for 60 min to induce acute kidney injury (AKI).Blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine levels were evaluated using a Hitachi 747 automatic analyzer. For histological examination, sections were stained with HE. The activity of myeloperoxidase (MPO) was detected by spectrophotometer.Expression of TNF-α,ICAM-1,MCP-1 was determined by Western blotting. Results Blood urea nitrogen,serum creatinine levels and the injury of kidney were improved significantly in rhALR group as compared with IR group (all P＜ 0.05).They were improved more significantly in rhALR2 group as compared to in rhALR1 group (all P＜0.05).The protein levels of TNF-α,ICAM-1,MCP-1 and the activity of MPO in kidneys from the sham-operated rats were low,and increased significantly after renal ischemia reperfusion injury (all P＜0.05).After treated with rhALR,the expression of TNF-α,ICAM-1,MCP-1 and the activity of MPO were decreased significantly in kidneys as compared to those in IR group (all P＜0.05),which decreased more significantly in rhALR2 group than those in rhALR1 group (all P＜ 0.05). Conclusions nhALR can protect kidneys from ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.The mechanism may be associated with the inhibition of renal inflammatory cells infiltration and down-regulated expressions of YNF-α,ICAM-1 and MCP-1 in the kidney.
