Hydronephrosis is one of the most common urological diseases in children.Most of hydronephrosis caused by ureteropelvic junction obstruction.Whether these children need operations were being argued.The current tendency is when the renal function become worse,operation is suggested needed,in order to save the renal function.So the methods how to evaluate the renal function are especially important,this article related to the current research and review.

ObjectiveTo observe the chronological and spatial expressions of transforming growth factor-β receptor typeⅡ(TGF-βRⅡ)and fibronectin (Fn )in developing mouse kidney and investigate the relationship between the expressions and kidney development. Methods Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were used to observe and measure the expression of TGF-βRⅡ and Fn in embryos and postnatal mouse kidneys. Results The expression of TGF-βRⅡ was noticed in all stages of glomeruli, renal tubes and collecting ducts, and increased gradually with ages; The expression of Fn was noticed too in all stages of glomeruli, renal tubes and collecting ducts, except for the comma-shaped bodies, and also increased gradually with ages. Conclusion TGF-β and Fn might play an important role in the development and maturation of mouse kidney.

Objective To study the serum lipid levels and prevalence of lipid abnormalities in Uygur,Hasake,Mongolians,Han adults(≥30years)of Boertala region of Xinjiang.Methods From Sep.to Nov.2004,3 300 subjects were gathered from baseline survey of hypertension epidemiology in Boertala region.All participants had a physical examination and serum lipid test.Results TC age corrected mean levels were 4.77,4.69,4.86,4.64,HDL-C(mmol/L)was 1.33,1.46,1.48,1.41,LDL-C(mmol/L)was 2.78,2.65,2.70,2.48 TG(mmol/L);median TG was 1.15,1.06,1.18,1.28,prevalence of lipid abnormalities was 57.4%,46.6%,50.3%,51.8%in Uygur,Hasake,Mongolian and Han adults.Conclusion The mean lipid level is not high,but prevalence of lipid abnormalities is high in the subjects

Objective To observe the chronological and spatial expression of fibronectin(Fn)and TGF-?RⅡ in developing mouse glomeruli.Methods The expressions of Fn and TGF-?RⅡ were examined by immunohistochemical and stereological method in embryos(including fetal age of 12,14,16 and 18d)and postnatal mouse kidneys(including the age of 1,3,7,14,21,28 and 42d).Results Immunohistochemical results showed that at fetal age of 14d,Fn was stained in S-shaped corpuscles,but not stained in the comma-shaped corpuscles.After fetal age 16d,Fn was expressed in all stages of glomeruli except the comma-shaped corpuscles.TGF-?RⅡ was stained in all stages of glomeruli from fetal age 14d.Fn and TGF-?RⅡ were localized respectively in basement membrane and cell plasma of glomeruli.Stereological analysis showed that the expression of Fn was increased gradually in all stages of glomeruli with renal development,except in the comma-shaped corpuscles;also,the expression of TGF-?RⅡ increased gradually in all stages of glomeruli with renal development.Conclusion The expressions of Fn and TGF-?RⅡ in embryonic and postnatal mouse kidney show chronological and spatial sequence,implying that they might play a role in the development and maturation of renal glomeruli of mouse.

Objective To determine the effect of exogenous wild-type p53(WT-p53) on the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell lines possessing different p53 functional status.Methods With recombinant adenoviral vector expressing WT-p53(Ad-p53),p53 gene was transfected into HCC cell lines:Bel-7402,QGY-7701, and PLC/PRF/5.The cytotoxicities of Ad-p53 to these cell lines were measured by MTT assay,cell growth properties and cell cycle pattern were assessed by flow cytometry.Results The OD of PLC/PRF/5, Bel-7402,and QGY-7701 cells transfected with Ad-p53 of 40,200,and 800 MOI were 0.02?0.00 vs 0.98?0.16(P0.05),compared with control groups respectively. Analysis of flow cytometry showed higher G2/M? lower S and apoptosis ratio in PLC/PRF/5 cells,while higher G0/G1 ratio and lower S ratio in Bel-7402 cells. ConclusionReplication-deficient adenoviral vector expressing WT-p53 may be useful for gene therapy in HCC regardless the status of endogenous p53.

Objective To determine the relationship between neck circumference (NC) and cardiovascular risk factors among Uygur,Kazak,Mongolian and Han populations in Boertala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang.Methods A total of 4299 adults (Uygur 1237,Kazak 1047,Mongolian 812,and Han 1203) aged 20 to 79 years old were selected from a cross-sectional study of metabolic syndrome in Boertala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang.Pearson's correlation was used to assess the relationship between NC and body mass index (BMI),waist circumference (WC),waist-to-hip ration (WHR),systolic blood pressur (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),fasting blood glucose (FBG),total cholesterol (TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and triglyceride (TG).Linear regression and Logistic regression were used to evaluate the effects of NC on SBP,DBP,FBG,TC,LDL-C,HDL-C,TG,hypertension,high FBG and lipid disorders among multiethnic population.Results Mean NC was (36.2 ± 3.8) cm in Uygur,(36.3 ± 4.1) cm in Kazak,(35.9 ± 3.6) cm in Mongolian and (35.7 ± 4.0) cm in Han,respectively.After adjusting age and gender,in Pearson's correlation coefficients,a significant association was found between NC and BMI (for Uygur,Kazak,Mongolian and Han,r values were 0.552,0.499,0.709 and 0.459,respectively; all P ＜ 0.05) or WC (for Uygur,Kazak,Mongolian and Han,r values were 0.525,0.479,0.695 and 0.376,respectively; all P ＜ 0.05).When BMI,WC and other factors were adjusted,linear regression indicated that FBG in Uygur (t =3.746,P ＜ 0.05) and LogTG in Mongolian (t =2.876 P ＜ 0.05) were increased with NC.In Logistic regression,increased NC was a risk factor of higher FBG in Uygur (odds ratio (OR) =1.139,95％confidence interval (CI):1.027-1.264) and lipid disorder in Mongolian (OR =1.156,95％ CI:1.009-1.325).Conclusions Our data suggest that NC may be associated with multiple risk factors of cardiovascular disease in Uygur,Kazak,Mongolian and Han adults,and the relationship could be different among multiethnic populations.It should be necessary to explore the role of upper-body fat in the development of metabolic disorders.
