Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2006;4(5):293-295
Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture plus hyperbaric oxygen in treating hypoxemic infantile encephalopathy (HIE). Methods: Fifty-nine HIE children were divided into treatment (33 cases) and control (26 cases) groups. Both groups were treated by basic therapy of removing acidosis, controlling cerebral edema and convulsion, and intravenous drip of cerebrolysin or citicoline. The treatment group was treated by acupuncture plus hyperbaric oxygen and the control group was treated by hyperbaric oxygen only. Results: The total effective rate was 97.0% in the treatment group and 73.1% in the control group. Statistical analysis showed a highly significant difference (P<0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus hyperbaric oxygen was better than simple hyperbaric oxygen in treating HIE. Its main manifestations were shortening the course of disease, increasing cure rate, decreasing death rate and reducing the occurrence of sequelae.HIE children should be treated as early as possible.

Objective To investigate the transactivating effect of hepatitis C virus(HCV)core protein on inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)gene promoter and the molecular biological mecha- nisms of HCV pathogenesis. Methods Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)technique was employed to amplify the sequence of iNOS promoter by using HepG2 genomic DNA as template, and the product was cloned into pGEM-T vector. The iNOSp gene was cut from T-iNOSp by KpnⅠand XhoⅠ,and then was cloned into pCAT3-Basic,the constructed vector was named as pCAT3-iNOSp,pCAT3-iN- OSp was transfected into the LO_2 cell line.LO_2 cell was also cotransfected with pcDNA3.1(-)-core and pCAT3-iNOSp by FuGENE 6 transfection reagents. The LO_2 cells transfected with pCAT3-Basic was used as negative control. The activity of CAT in LO_2 cells was detected by an ELISA kit after 48 hours, which reflected the transactivating function of HCV core protein to iNOS gene promoter.Re- sults The expressive vector pcDNA3.1(-)-core and report vector pCAT3-iNOSp had been construc- ted and confirmed by restriction enzyme digestion and sequencing. The expression of CAT in LO_2 cells transfected with pCAT3-iNOSp and peDNA3,1(-)-core was 11 times as higher as that of pCAT3-bas- ic,and 6 times as higher as that of pCAT3-iNOSp.Conclusion It is suggested that HCV core protein can transactivate iNOS gene promoter.

Objective With generalization and steadiness,a new evaluation model by Integrating Non Linear Features extraction algorithm with artificial neural networks(ANN) used for pattern recognition of quality control of Radix Paeoniae Alba was proposed in this paper. Methods The HPLC data from 29 samples with different quality were proceeded with nonlinear kernel principal component analysis(KPCA) and an improved Back propagation algorithm of ANN.The extract characteristics was fed into BP neural networks as input elements for pattern recognition. In the meantime, the processing data, the optimal numbers of hidden layers, the numbers of hidden nodes, excitation functions, and over-fitting,etc. were discussed wholly so that standardization networks was designed without jamming. Results As recognition ratio was 100%,the pattern recognition of quality control of Radix Paeoniae Alba was established successfully by trained networks and predicted results. Conclusion Integrating KPCA algorithm with ANN for pattern recognition of quality control of Radix Paeoniae Alba has been proved to be available.

Objective A retrospective analysis were conducted to identify the effect of bypassing the emergency department on 30-days outcomes of patients with acute myocardial infarction undergone primary percutaneous coronary intervention ( PPCI) . Methods From June 2014 to April 2015, 187 patients underwent PPCI in Kunming General Hospital were included. 13 patients were excluded owing to their incomplete follow-up data. The total 174 patients were divided into two groups: the control group (n =59) who did not bypass the emergency department, and the bypass group ( n = 115) who bypassed the emergency department and directly received PPCI. The data of all patients were collected and analyzed. Results There were no significant differences in baseline characteristics and PPCI related data (including percentage of thrombus aspiration catheter used, length or diameter of stents applied between two groups (all P ﹥ 0. 05) . The bypass group had shorter door-to-ballon ( D2B) than the control group [ (67. 7 ± 21. 5) min vs. (89. 4 ± 23. 6) min, P ﹤ 0. 001] . There were no significant differences in 30-days all-cause mortality, re-myocardial infacrtion and target ressel revascularization (TVR) between the two groups (P ﹥ 0. 05) . Total MACEs rate in the bypass group was lower than in the control group (10. 2% vs. 1. 7% , P = 0. 012) . Logistic regression analysis showed that age, diabetes, pain-to-door (PTD) time and CK peak value were the main influencing factors for 30-day MACEs rate of patients receiving PPCI ( P ﹤0. 05) . Conclusions Bypassing the emergency department can shorten D2B time and reduce 30-days MACEs post-PPCI, but reducing the total ischemic time will be more beneficial to patients with acute myocardial infarction.
