Objective An investigation of the effectiveness of treatment of spinal cord injuries(SCI) from the point of view of the transforming factor. Methods Animal model of SCI was made by modified Allens method. Mixed grafts of Schwann cells(SCs) modified with nerve growth factor(NGF) and brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) genes along with fetal spinal cord cell suspension(FSCS) were transplanted into SCI site after 1 month and 3 months. Immunocytochemical staining was conducted for neurofilament(NF), glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP), myelin basic protein(MBP), 5 hydroxytryptamine/serotonin(5 HT), NGF, BDNF and the results analyzed with image pattern analysis. Pathological changes of spinal cord tissues were observed with light and electronic microscopy. Results These findings demonstrate the advantages of using mixed grafts of NGF and BDNF genetically modified SCs with FSCS in SCI in the rat: 1) They can be well integrated with the host and survive, 2) FSCS plays the role of bridging and mesomerism, 3) SCs can act as canal tubes and guides for the axons, 4)NGF and BDNF may stimulate the growth of axons and salvage the injuried neruron. Conclusion Mixed grafts of SCs genetically modified with NGF and BDNF genes along with FSCS may be effective measures for the treatment of SCI.

Purpose:To investigate the influence of doxorubicin chemotherapy on overexpression of epithelial growth factor. Methods:Cancer animal model was made and treated with doxorubicin. The concentration of EGF protein in Plasma and mRNA in cancer tissue were detected by ELISA and Real-time quantitative RT-PCR respectively and the correlation of this parameter was evaluated. Results:The plasma concentrations of EGF expression were 3X Group 1.19?0.42 pg/ml, 1X Group 1.61?0.51 pg/ml, control group 2.13?0.68 pg/ml, and normal 0.91?0.33 pg/ml respectively. The concentration of EGF were analysed by ANOVA q test. The median concentrations of mRNA were 3X Group 1.6?10 3 copies/ml, 1X Group 8.5?10 4 copies/ml, control 4?10 5 copies/ml, and normal 2.5?10 2 copies/ml respectively, and were analysed by rank-sum test. It was shown that the control group had higher EGF and EGFR expression level than those treated with doxorubicin. Objective To choose the bestway of extracting procedure of Rhizoma corydalis. Methods The optimal extraction process is selected with the orthogonal design. The content of corydalis B and the yield of extracts were used to evaluate the factor levels. Results The ideal extraction process is:extracted with 75% alcohol for 2 times, first 6 times amount, soaked 0.5 h, refluxed 1.5 h, then 4 times amount, refluxed 1.5 h. Conclusions This extractive condition is the best way.

Objective To explore the MRI findings of enthesitis in peripheral ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods We retrospectively reviewed the MRI obtained from 13 patients with clinically-diagnosed peripheral AS. MRI finding attributable to enthesitis could be visualized as tendon or ligament enthesitis, bone marrow edema (BME), synovitis, bursitis, tenosynovitis. Results MRI findings of knee showed enthesitis in 8 knees, mainly involved in the insertions of the quadriceps tendon at the upper patellar pole , the patellar ligament at the lower patellar pole and the tibial tubercle, BME in 8 knees, synovitis in 5 knees, bursitis in 3 knees, and tenosynovitis in 4 knees. MRI findings of ankle showed enthesitis in 3 ankles, involved in plantar insertion into calcaneus and Achilles tendon insertion into the calcaneus, BME in 1 ankle, and tenosynovitis in 3 ankles. Conclusion The lower extremities are more often involved in peripheral AS than the upper extremities. MRI characteristic of enthesitis may contribute to the diagnosis of peripheral AS early combined with HLA-B27.

Objective To explore the MRI features in mediopatellar plica and cartilage injury.Methods The MRI appearances of 30 patients with mediopatellar plica were divided into four types and chondral injury were divided into five grades,then the characteristics of MRI imaging were analyzed,and compared with arthroscopy classification.Results The MRI manifestations of A type (n =7) of mediopatellar plica showed a cordlike elevation on the synovial wall;B type (n =13) showed shelf-like appearance but did not cover the anterior surface of the medial femoral condyle;C type (n =8) showed shelf-like appearance and covered the anterior surface of the medial femoral condyle and D type (n =2) showed a central defect in the mediopatellar plica.The MRI manifestations of chondral injury grades included zero grade (n =10),Ⅰ grade (n =2),Ⅱ grade (n =7),Ⅲ grade (n =7) and Ⅳ grade (n=4).There was no statistical significance in terms of classification of mediopatellar plica and grading of cartilage injury via MRI and arthroscopy.Conclusion MRI provides solid evidence for preoperative assessment and choice of operation scheme for classification of mediopatellar plica and grading of cartilage injury in knee.

Objective To explore the value of follow-up of serum TSH stimulating thyroglobulin (Tg) test and 131I whole body scan(WBS) in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer(DTC) who were treated by 131I.Methods By SPSS software,Kappa test was performed between results of serum Tg,TgAb test and WBS for diagnosis of persistent/recurrent DTC.Results Consistency test of TSH stimulating Tg,TgAb and 131I WBS for diagnostic persistent/recurrent or metastasis of DTC:kappa value =0.587,SE =0.076,P ＜ 0.01.Although the results showed that two measurements appeared definite consistency,it is dissatisfactory.Conclusion Serum TSH stimulating Tg test and 131I whole body scan(WBS) are important follow-up tools for patients with DTC.Because of Tg interfering it is necessary to performed TgAb test simultaneously,when Tg test was performed.Especially 131I WBS do is not absent because false negative would be able to appeared in single serum TSH stimulating Tg and TgAb test.
