Objective To study the lymphatic microvessel density of keloid and correlation of invasive growth.Methods Invasive part,proliferative part and peripheral normal skin of keloid patients (n=10) were collected by surgical excision,and normal skin of keloid and non-keloid patients as control.Lymphatic vessel density of different parts of keloid and normal skin were investigated by immunohistochemical staining using the lymphatic endothelium specific marker D2-40.Results There were no significant differences between lymphatic microvessel density of peripheral normal skin of keloid (12.563 ±1.803) n/mm2 and normal skin of non-keloid patients (11.071 ± 2.645) n/mm2 (t=1.389,P＞0.05); Lymphatic microvessel density of invasive part of keloid (27.315 ± 7.430) n/mm2 was significantly higher than those of proliferative part of keloid (17.375± 6.221) n/mm2 and normal skin (12.563±1.803) n/mm2 (x2 =16.8,P＜0.01); there were significant differences between proliferative parts of keloid and normal skin (t=2.276,P＜0.05).Conclusions Lymphatic microvessel density increase in the invasive part of keloid may have a certain relationship with invasive growth.

Objective To study the changes in interleukin-32 (IL-32) in rats with Klebsiella bacillus pneumonia and approach its significance. Methods Seventy-two Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were divide into control group,model group and experimental group by the method of random digits table,then the experimental group was subdivided into 4 hours and 1,3 and 5 days experimental subgroups(each n=6). The rat model of Klebsiella bacillus pneumonia was established by injection of 0.3 mL Klebsiella bacterial suspension into the trachea. Before the establishment of the model in the experimental group,IL-32 inhibitory agent,protease activated receptor-2(PAR2) was injected into the abdominal cavity. After model establishment,at different time points,blood was collected via tail vein to observe the changes in serum levels of IL-32,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-6 and IL-8 in all the groups. The lungs were removed and stained with hematoxylin-eosin(HE)method to investigate the histopathological changes of the lung tissues under the light microscope. Results Compared to the control group, with the prolongation of time the levels of IL-32,TNF-α,IL-8 and IL-6 were increased gradually in the model group,and reached their peaks at 3 days〔IL-32(ng/L):84.40±28.24 vs. 18.57±3.86,t=5.544,P=0.002;TNF-α(ng/L):79.27±14.64 vs. 17.82±3.86, t=9.994, P=0.000;IL-8(ng/L):55.85±10.90 vs. 16.66±3.76,t=8.544, P=0.000;IL-6(ng/L):56.65±2.57 vs. 28.48±2.11,t=19.693,P=0.000〕;PAR2 could inhibit above indexes significantly,there was statistical difference at 3 days compared with the model group〔IL-32(ng/L):54.13±6.68 vs. 84.40±28.24,t=2.560,P=0.046;TNF-α(ng/L):49.12±3.56 vs. 79.27±14.64,t=4.901,P=0.003;IL-8 (ng/L):22.95±2.52 vs. 55.85±10.90,t=7.204,P=0.000;IL-6(ng/L):36.49±2.63 vs. 56.65±2.57,t=13.443, P=0.000〕. Under the light microscope,the inflammatory changes in the lung tissue in experimental group were milder than those in the model group. Conclusion As a pro-inflammatory cytokine,IL-32 can induce the production of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-8,and the inhibition of IL-32 production may play a role in suppression of the development of Klebsiella bacillus pneumonia.

Objective To study the effect of Chinese wild rice diet on lipid metabolism in rats. Method Forty four male SD rats were divided into 4 groups:control group, high lipid group, white rice-flour group and Chinese wild rice group. All groups were given different experimental diets for 8 w and body weights, serum TC, TG, HDL-C, high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), TNF-? and IL-6 were measured. Results The hyperlipidemic rat model was successfully induced. When compared with high lipid group and white rice-flour diet group, serum TG and TC contents were significantly decreased, and HDL-C significantly increased in the Chinese wild rice group. Moreover, Chinese wild rice group had lower contents of serum hs-CRP and TNF-? than those in high lipid group and white rice-flour group, but no effect on serum IL-6. Conclusion Chinese wild rice could improve lipid metabolism and low-grade inflammation of hyperlipidemic rats induced by high lipid diet.

Objective: To study the expression of PDCD5 mRNA and its significance in esophageal cancer in Xinjiang Kazakh and Han nationality. Methods: RT-PCR was used to detect the mRNA of PDCD5 in 40 cases of esophageal cancer (18 cases of Kazakh, 22 cases of Han). Results: The positive rate of PDCD5 mRNA expression in 40 samples of esopha-geal cancer tissue, adjacent tissue, and normal tissue was 80.0% (32/40), 80.0% (32/40) and 87.5% (35/40), respectively, with no significant difference (P>0.05). The Ods of cancer tissues, adjacent tissues, and normal tissues were 0.7644± 0.1444, 0.9341 ±0.1631 and 1.8703±0.4767, respectively. The expression of PDCD5 was significantly increased in cancer tissues compared with that in normal tissues (P<0.05). The expression level of PDCD5 mRNA was not significantly correlat-ed with the degree of differentiation and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion: No significant difference was found in PDCD5 mRNA expression in esophageal cancer between Xinjiang kazakh and Han nationality (P>0.05). The expression of PDCD5 is not correlated with the degree of differentiation, depth of invasion or lymph node metastasis. Detection of PDCD5 mRNA expression in esophageal cancer tissues may provide valuable information for patient prognosis.
