Objective To observe the effect of Huahongjiangxiantang on hemorheology and plasma fibrinogen (FIB).Methods 100 patients with hypertension were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group ( n=50) which were treated with Huahongjiangxian-tang,and the control group( n=50)were treated with Aspirin.Hemorheology and plasma fibrin were detected before and after treatment for 8 weeks. Results After 8 weeks treatment, there were significant depressions in whole blood viscosity(low shear rate),RBC deformability index and RBC aggregation index( P<0.01 ),and better than the control group( P <0.05 ).There were significant changes in whole blood viscosity ( high shear rate),plasma viscosity,RBC rigidity index and plasma fibrin ( P < 0.05 ).A number of indicators declined significantly in control group ( P < 0.05 );The rate of platelet aggregation to improve the situation in the control group was better than that of the treatment group, but there was no statistical significance. Conclusion Huahongjiangxiantang can effectively reduce blood viscosity in patients with hypertension and improve the body's red blood cell function and fibrinolysis, benefit to the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis and reduce the occurrence of thrombotic events.

The imbalance between histone acetylation and histone deacetylation can lead to the inactivation of suppressor genes and the activation of oncogenes by influencing transcription. Based on this, researchers found that HDAC inhibitors can induce prostate cancer cells growth arrest, differentiation and apoptosis. This review summarizes the advance research of histone deacetylase inhibitors in treatment of prostate cancer.

Objective To investigate the effect of esophageal variceal ligation (EVL) on portal hypertensive gastropathy (PHG). Methods Gastroscopic examinations were performed both before and after the EVL in 37 cases of PHG. Results The severity of PHG was correlated with the liver functions, and the morbidity of PHG was higher in cases of Child C (100%, 9/9) than in cases of Child A (60%, 12/20) or Child B (80%, 16/20) ( ? 2=18 452,P =0 001). PHG could be exasperated by the application of EVL, but no statistical significance was seen ( ? 2=3 512,P =0 173). On re-examination of gastroscopy 6~12 months later, no relapse or re-bleeding of esophageal varices or gastric mucosa hemorrhage occurred. Conclusions The worse the liver functions, the higher is the incidence of PHG. EVL treatment creates a tendency to aggravating PHG.
4.Synthesis and structure of the Salen-Mn compound
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(5):281-282
ObjectiveTo synthesize metal complex that exhibits superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity and determine its structure.MethodsThis chemical compound was synthesized by means of reflux in laboratory. Its structure was examined by infrared spectra (IR),nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectra(H-NMR) and mass spectra (MS).The activity of the SOD was determine by xanthine oxidase (XOD).ResultsThe IR indicted that this complex showed a typical absorption band of -OH,C=N and benzene. The H-NMR reveals the existence of metal ion manganese (Mn3+ ,paramagnetic). The molecular weight was 365, which was obtained by EI-MS analysis. And this complex showed SOD-like activity.ConclusionA metal complex with low molecular weight and SOD-like activity has been synthesized.
5.Protective effects of the compound with low molecular weight of anti-free radical on brain injury in rats
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(7):406-407
Objective To study the protective effects of the compound with low molecular weight of anti free radical on brain ischemic and hypoxic injuries in rats. Methods The model of brain ischemic and hypoxic injuries in rats was established by unilateral carotid artery ligature just for 2 h. The compound was injected 30 minutes after the rats act on hypoxic state (10% O2+90%N2) for 1 h. Then the serum of rats was separated and the value of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondiade (MDA) were determined, and the pathological changes were observed in brain tissue. Results Compared with rats in the model group, the compound decreased the concentrations of MDA in serum (P<0.05), and raised the level of SOD (P<0.05) significantly in therapy group. Otherwise, the pyramidal cells remained organized order, with only a few cells degenerated occasionally in rats of therapy group. Conclusion The compound has SOD like activity. It can scavenge the free radical and inhibit peroxidation of lipid, so it can prevent brain cells from the damage.

Object To select the endophytic fungi which produce vincristine by isolating fungi from the leaves of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don. Methods The endophytic fungi were isolated from the leaves of C. roseus and the zymotic extracts were analyzed by TLC and HPLC. Results An endophytic fungus which is Mycelia sterilia 97CY_3 can produce vincristine. The content of vincristine in the fungus was determined as 0.205 ?g/L by HPLC. Conclusion Some endophytic fungi isolated from C. roseus can produce the anticancer substance vincristine which is the same as that of host plant producing.

Objective:To explore the histogenesis and differentiation of dermatofibroma (DF) and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP). Methods: Clinical information and microscopic characteristics of 26 cases of DF and 26 cases of DFSP were investigated. The immunohistochemical study was performed on microarray sections by a panel of antibodies including FactorⅩⅢa, HLA-DR, CD34, CD14, S-100, MSA, and Ki67. Probe was labeled by in vitro transcription. The mRNA expression levels of TGF-? and bFGF were investigated by in situ hybridization. Results: All cases showed positive for Factor ⅩⅢa,HLA-DR and CD34 to different extent. The medians of positive rates in DF were FactorⅩⅢa 90%, HLA-DR 70%, and CD34 5%, and in DFSP were FactorⅩⅢa 10%, HLA-DR 5%, and CD34 80%. CD14 was positive in 3 cases of DF and 1 case of DFSP. S-100 was positive in 6 cases of DFSP and 2 cases of DF. MSA was positive in 5 cases of DFSP and 3 cases of DF. In all cases, positive rate of Ki67 was less than 5%. The mRNA expression levels of TGF-? was elevated in DF in comparison with DFSP. Conclusion: Both DF and DFSP can differentiate to dendritic cells (DC) in different degree. Considering the character of microscopic features and immunohistochemical phenotype, cells of DF are much similar to mature DC, while those of DFSP much similar to immature dermal reserve cell (DRC). The differences of cell differentiation between DF and DFSP result in different prognosis. DF is a benign tumor, while DFSP a low grade malignant tumor. The different expression of FactorⅩⅢa and CD34 may be helpful to differential diagnosis of DF and DFSP.

To explore the inhibitory effect of hydroxyapatite (HA) particles with different sizes on malignant melanoma A375 cells in vitro, we synthesized 4 short rod-like HA particles using TIPS. Their mean diameters were 998.0 nm (HA1), 511.0 nm (HA2), 244.0 nm (HA3), and 71.6 nm (HA4), respectively. Malignant melanoma A375 cells were co-cultured with HA particles in vitro. Results showed that HA particles smaller than 511.0 nm in mean diameter could always inhibit proliferation of A375 cells, and nanometer-HA particles (HA4) had the strongest inhibitory effect on A375 cell proliferation and the strongest inducing effect on apoptosis. HA particles were distributed in plasma of A375 cells. The ultrastructure changes of A375 cells were found most significant in nanometer-HA particles (HA4) group. We conclude that particle size is a very important influencing factor on anti-tumor effects of HA and that nanometer-HA particle has the strongest inhibitory effect on tumor cell proliferation.
