2.FOCAL NODULAR HYPERPLASIA OF THE LIVER: A CLINICOPATHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(11):-
cases of focal nodular heperplasia of the liver were studied with HE staining and immunohistochemistry. The patient population was composed of 12 males and 5 females, aged 13 to 71 years. The main symptom was abdomimal pain or discomfort. 9 patients were misdiagnosed as hepatic cell carcinoma (HCC) before operation. Histologically, 14 cases were of classical form, and 2 cases were of telangiectatic form, and 1 case mixed form. The classical form of FNH was defined by the presence of 4 characteristic histologic features: nodular central stellate scar, abnormal nodular architecture, malformed vessels, and cholangiolar proliferation. The causes of focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver were briefly discussed.

Objective To investigate the curative effect of Candesartan on chronic systolic heart failure in Tibetan pla?teau. Methods A total of 526 patients with chronic systolic heart failure were divided into two groups randomly (Treatment group N=252;Control group N=274). Regular medicines, such as cardiac, diuretic and vasodilator drugs , are given to pa?tients in both groups according to their primary underlined diseases. Additionally, enalapril is added in control group, while candesartan is added in treatment group. Improvement of cardiac function, LVEF, LVEDD and blood pressure were compared between these two groups after 8 weeks. Results There was no significant difference in effective rate (i.e., 45.2%in treat?ment group and 44.9% in control group, respectively), efficiency rate (i.e. 54.8% in treatment group and 55.1% in control group, respectively) and inefficiency rate (i.e. 2.0%in treatment group and 2.2%in control group, respectively) between treat?ment and control groups . After treatment, LVEF in the two groups are all improved, while LVEDD and blood pressure both de?creased with statistical significance. However, the difference between the two groups is not significant. Conclusion No sta?tistical difference was found in curative effect on chronic systolic heart failure in Tibetan Plateau between two groups.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of HLA-peptides tetramer staining flow cytometry for determining HBV specific CD8+ cells. Methods HBV specific CD8+ cells in whole blood samples of chronic hepatitis B patients were stained with tetramer complex of HLA-A2 and HBV core 18-27 peptide and counted by flow cytometry. Results The medians of percentages of HBV specific CD8+ cells of total CD8+ cells were 0.20%(0.02%~2.04%) in 11 acute hepatitis B patients and 0.05%(

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1992;0(06):-
Objective To explore the protective effect of Red Sage Root on bronchopulmonary dysplasis(BPD) induced by hyperoxia in newborn rats. Methods On the 2nd postnatal day,SD newborn rats were randomly assigned to 4 groups:air and NS group(group Ⅰ),air and Red Sage Root group(group Ⅱ),hyperoxia and NS group(group Ⅲ),hyperoxia and Red Sage Root group(group Ⅳ).The rats in group Ⅲ and group Ⅳ were exposed to hyperoxia(the level of oxygen was 900-960 mL/L).The rats in group Ⅱ and group Ⅳ were injected with Red Sage Root intraperitoneally(10 mg/kg)daily.On 14 days after birth,6 rats in each group were killed.Lung histologic changes, radical alveolar counts(RAC)were monitored.Thiobarbituric acid method, nitrite method,2-nitroben zoic acid method were used to determine the concentration of malony ldialdengde(MDA),superoxidedismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were monitored. Results 1.Group Ⅲ and group Ⅳ showed the inhibition of lung development and the evident lung fibrosis. In contrast to group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ,RAC in group Ⅲ and group Ⅳ decreased dramatically(Pa

Objective To investigate the relationship between the hs-c-reactive protein and the severity of coronary artery disease. Methods All the 67 patients underwent coronary angiography and measured risk factors, the Gensini score was used to determine the results of the coronary angiography. The t test,One-Way ANOVA and multiple linear regression analysis were used to predict hs-CRP.Results Coronary artery disease group hs-CRP levels were significantly higher than those in non-coronary artery disease group(P

Nine compounds were isolated from the n-butanol fraction of 95% ethanol extract of the fruit of Alpinia oxyphylla Miq. with a combination of various chromatographic approaches, including MDS resin, silica gel, reverse phase C18 and preparative HPLC. On the basis of spectroscopic data analysis, they were elucidated as (1R, 4R, 10R)-1β, 4α-dihydroxy-11, 12, 13-trinor-5, 6-eudesmen-7-one (1), 1β, 4β-dihydroxy-11, 12, 13-trinor-8, 9-eudesmen-7-one (2), oxyphyllenone A (3), oxyphyllenone B (4), rhamnocitrin (5), staphylionoside D (6), benzyl-1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1S)-phenylethylene glycol (8), and (S)-1-phenylethyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (9). Among them, compound 1 is a new sesquiterpene, named as oxyphyllenone C; compounds 8 and 9 are new natural products; compounds 2 and 6 were isolated from the genus Alpinia for the first time, and compound 7 was isolated from A. oxyphylla for the first time.

Objective:To construct the pleiotrophin (PTN )overexpression vector, and to explore the effect of PTN on the decidualization of uterine stromal cells in the mice. Methods:The specific primers containing restriction enzyme cutting sites were designed according to the PTN gene sequences published in GenBank for PCR amplification. The amplified fragment of PTN was recovered from the agarose gel and cloned into the pGEM-T vector. The pGEMT-PTN was cut by double enzyme digestion and ligated into pcDNA3.1 (+)to construct the PTN overexpression plasmid. After transfection with PTN overexpression plasmid, the expression levels of PTN mRNA in the uterine stromal cells and the expression levels of decidualization markers Prl8a2 and Prl3c1 were detected by qRT-PCR method. The uterine stromal cells transfected with pcDNA3.1 (+)empty vector were used as control group. Results:The results of identification by double enzyme digestion indicated that the bands of PTN overexpression plasmid were consistent with those of the target gene, and the clone sequencing results suggested that it had 100% homology with mouse PTN gene sequence published in GenBank.Compared with control group, the expression levels of PTN,Prl8a2 and Prl3c1 mRNA in mouse uterine stromal cells in PTN overexpression group were significantly increased (P < 0.05).Conclusion:PTN overexpression could increase the expression levels of decidualization markers in mouse uterine stromal cells, indicating that PTN might play an enhancement effect during uterine decidualization in the mice.
