Objective To explore the effect of intervention by follow-up on sexual quality of young and middle aged male patients with chronic heart failure.Methods Seventy-eight patients with chronic heart failure in our hospital were enrolled into this study and randomly divided into the study group (n=40) and the control group (n=38).Psychological intervention during follow-up was carried out in the study group.The sexual quality of life after discharge for six month was investigated and evaluated with a retrospective questionnaire in two groups.Result Sexual quality of life in the study group was significantly improved compared to the control group (P<0.001).Conclusion Psychological intervention during follow-ups can increase sexual quality of life in young and middle aged male patients with chronic heart failure.

Objective To explore the concentrations and diameters of the particulates in indoor air of the cosmetic workshops, and provide scientific basis for the testing and evaluation of air cleanliness of the cosmetic workshops. Methods The testing and evaluation on concentrations of the particulates with the diameters of 0.3,0.5,1.0,2.0,3.0,5.0 ?m in indoor air of the cosmetic workshops was carried out among 11 cosmetic manufactures with air filtering and purifying system(air-purified factory) and 13 cosmetic manufactures without air filtering and purifying system but with mechanical ventilation (air-unpurified factory). Results The medians of 0.3～5.0 ?m particulates in air of cosmetic workshops in air-purified factories were significantly lower than those in air-unpurified factories respectively. The concentrations of the particulates in air of cosmetic workshops in air-unpurified factories showed no significant differences compared with those in ambient air.The concentrations of 0.5 and 1.0 ?m particulates showed the significant correlation with those of 0.3?2.0?3.0?5.0 ?m particulates. The concentrations of 2.0?3.0?5.0 ?m particulates showed the significant correlation between each other except for 0.3 ?m particulates. Conclusion The particulates show lower concentration, the air cleanliness doesn't meet the requirement the national standard of 100 000 class in air of cosmetic workshops in air-purified factories. The concentration of 0.5 ?m particulate is suitable for evaluation on air cleanliness in air of cosmetic workshops.

ObjectiveTo analyze the incidence,etiology and clinical treatment of the impacted maxillary central incisors.Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 29 cases of impacted maxillary central incisors that were randomly selected from the 1000 patients.Age of the patient was ranged from 7 to 23 years with median 11.1 years.Numbers of impacted teeth were 32,in which 22teeth were intraosseous impaction and others were extraosseous.The incidence,etiology,sites and direction of impacted teeth and their treatment approaches were explored in this study.Results Impac tion of maxillary central incisors occurred more frequently in females than in males,with a ratio of 1.0 ∶ 1.2.The ratio of intraosseous impaction to extraosseous one was 11 ∶ 5.The insufficient eruption space of maxillary central incisors was present in 65％ patients,but intermediate and severe crowded teeth only accounted for 15％.The incidence of the abnormal site and position of impacted teeth reached 71 ％.The clinical approach and solution were surgical-orthodontic treatment,transplantation or removal of impacted teeth.ConclusionsThe main cause is abnormity of teeth in the shape and position.Most of the impacted maxillary central incisors could be moved to the correct position by effective treatment.

Objective To establish a gene diagnosis assay for spinal muscular atrophy(SMA) in children. Method Analysis of the survival motor neuron (SMN) gene in 19 SMA patients and in 21 normal controls were performed by using polymerase chain reaction - fragment length polymorphism (PCR - RFLP) method. Result Deletion of exon 7and 8 in SMNt gene were found in all 19 SMA patients, while no such changes were found in normal controls. Conclusion The SMNt gene exon 7 and 8 examine can be applied to SMA gene diagnosis, and the PCR- RFLP method have higher sensitivity and particularity to the SMA diagnosis.

Objective To investigate the health condition of swimmers who swim in a river in Guangzhou city and to know the influencing factors in order to provide the scientific data for making the diseases control guide for swimmers swimming in the river.Methods The swimmers who swam in a river in Guangzhou city were selected and the cluster sampling survey was conducted by telephone interview and questionnaires in 2006.The statistic analysis of the data was done with the chi-square and Logistic regression.Results 17.9% of the investigated swimmers felt disconffortable in the first time to swim in the river,the main symptoms were eye and skin symptoms,12.2% had the same symptoms in second time to swim in the river,there was a significant difference between the prevalence rates of the eye symptoms.The Logistic regression analysis showed that the following factors were associated with the prevalence of discomfortable symptoms:age,gender,swimming with any kinds of tampon in unclean river water,in the first time to swim in the river and in the second time to swim in the river,the related OR values were 0.95 and 0.97,3.55 and 2.32,14.83 and 6.7.Other factors associated with the prevalence of discomfortable symptoms were as follows:swimming period in unclean fiver water,swimming stroke,chokes the water,times of choking water,using earplugs,head position in water,the related OR values were 1.06,0.50,2.1,1.22,0.44,1.65.Concousion To swim in the natural unclean river may cause the discomfort,the main problems are eye and skin symptoms.

Objective To assess right ventricular (RV) regional and global volume and systolic function in patients with right coronary artery disease by real time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE).Methods RT-3DE images were acquired in 20 normal controls (Group A),30 patients with right coronary artery stenosis(Group B) and 10 patients with RV myocardial infarction(Group C).Volumetric RT-3DE images were analyzed by use of TomTec software,which provided regional (inflow,body and outflow) and global end diastolic volume(EDV),end systolic volume(ESV),stroke volume(SV) and ejection fraction(EF).RT-3DE quantitative data were analyzed to test repeatability.Results Compared with group A and group B,EDV and ESV of body and global were larger in group C;ESV of inflow and outflow were larger (P ＜0.05).EDV of group C was larger than group B(P ＜0.05).Compared with group A and group B,the EF of inflow,outflow and global in group C were lower(P ＜0.05).The EF of body in group C were lower than group B(P ＜0.05).There was no significant difference in regional and global volume and EF between group A and group B(P ＞0.05).The intra-observer and inter-observer's variability was low and consistency was high.Conclusions In patients with RV myocardial infarction,RV regional and global volumes were enlarged and systolic function was impaired.Evaluating right ventricular regional and global volume and function in patients with right coronary artery disease by RT-3DE has high repeatability.

To explore the correlation between the ecological factors and the contents of podophyllotoxin and total lignans in root and rhizome of Sinopodophyllum hexandrum, podophyllotoxin in 87 samples (from 5 provinces) was determined by HPLC and total lignans by UV. A correlation and regression analysis was made by software SPSS 16.0 in combination with ecological factors (terrain, soil and climate). The content determination results showed a great difference between podophyllotoxin and total lignans, attaining 1.001%-6.230% and 5.350%-16.34%, respective. The correlation and regression analysis by SPSS showed a positive linear correlation between their contents, strong positive correlation between their contents, latitude and annual average rainfall within the sampling area, weak negative correlation with pH value and organic material in soil, weaker and stronger positive correlations with soil potassium, weak negative correlation with slope and annual average temperature and weaker positive correlation between the podophyllotoxin content and soil potassium.
