Objective To analyze MRI features of breast intraductal papilloma,to improve the acquaintance of this disease. Methods The preoperative MRI images (T2 WI-SPAIR,DWI,ADC,TIC and MIP)of eight patients with breast intraductal papilloma confirmed by surgery were reviewed retrospectively, which were compared with the postoperative pathology. The morphology, distribution, enhanced methods and signal characteristics of the lesion were summarized. Results Of 8 cases, the lession was dormant, and MRI revealed three patterns:the first type was occult papilloma, which presented distention of ducts and no solid nodule in 3 cases (37.5%);the second type showed tiny nodules in bar-like dilatation of ducts in 3 cases (37.5%);and the third type presented small round nodules scattering distribued in terminal ductules in 2 cases (25%).The maximum diameter of nodular lesions was 0.4-1.0 cm(average 0.7 cm).The lesions on T2 WI-SPAIR showed equal signal intensity or mixed signals with isointensity/hypointensity,and dilatation catheter.enhancement. The ADC and TIC value were various, therefore, diagnosis of the tumor should be combined with morphology and associated symptoms. Conclusion At early stage, the occult focus of breast intraductal papilloma can be sensitively detected and localized on MRI.It reveals that MRI has advantage in showing morphology of lesion and functional imaging, which is of important value in clinical diagnosis and early treatment.

AIM: To investigate the effects of epigallocatechin-3-gallate(EGCG) on 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium ion(MPP+)-induced apoptosis in rat pheochromocytoma(PC12) cells and to explore the relationships between its roles of anti-oxidation,intracellular calcium homeostasis and anti-apoptosis.METHODS: Rat PC12 cells were pretreated with vehicle control or EGCG(10,50,and 100 ?mol/L) for 30 min, then cultured with MPP+(900 ?mol/L) for 24 h.The cell viability and apoptosis were monitored by MTT assay and flow cytometry using Annexin V and PI.The activity of intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS),contents of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA),cytoplasmic Ca2+ density and apoptotic morphology of mitochondria were examined by fluorescent plate-based assays, confocal microscope, and transmission electron microscope, respectively.RESULTS: MPP+ impaired the PC12 cells in a concentration-dependent pattern and induced apoptosis of the cells(31% versus control).Compared with the control, the cells pretreated with EGCG showed markedly higher rate of viability and lower apoptosis.Meanwhile,EGCG pretreatment significantly increased the SOD activity and decreased the levels of MDA and ROS.Interestingly,EGCG also decreased the concentration of cytoplasmic Ca2+ and improved the morphology of mitochondria.CONCLUSION: EGCG exhibits inhibitory effects on MPP+-induced apoptosis in rat PC12 cells, which is possibly associated with increasing the cell ability of anti-oxidation and decreasing the concentration of cytoplasmic Ca2+.

Aim To investigate the antagonistic action of EGCG on apoptosis of rat PC12 cell induced by MPP+.Methods PC12 cells were cultured and the apoptosis induced by MPP+(900 ?mol?L-1)was observed. The cells were randomly divided into 6 groups:blank group without any treatment,MPP+ control group, vitamin E group and EGCG groups(10,50,100 ?mol?L-1).After treatment of drugs, cell viability, leakage of LDH,morphological changes of mitochondria and apoptosis were detected by MTT,Hoechst 33342 staining, transmission electron microscope and flow cytometry, respectively. Results After treatment of cultured PC12 cells with MPP+,cell viability was decreased, leakage of LDH and apoptotic rate were increased, and mitochondria swelling, vacuole and cristae breakage were observed.Vitamin E and EGCG en-hanced cell viability, reduced the leakage of LDH and apoptotic rate, and decreased the damage degree of mitochondria. Conclusions EGCG possesses the ability of inhibiting rat PC12 cell apoptosis induced by MPP+,and its protective action may relate to its function of keeping mitochondria integrality.

Through retrieval of all medical journals of CNKI and VIP from Jan. 1996 to Oct. 2012, ninety-nine articles were selected and analyzed. The result shows that reliable effect can be found in pain relieving, especially in pain of muscles and soft tissues. In mechanism research, action mechanism of Fu's subcutaneous needling (FSN) on pain relieving is expounded through theory of traditional medicine and modern medicine. Although the effect of FSN on pain relieving has been confirmed by numerous clinical trials, it is still lack of explanation on mechanism revealing. The further studies should focus on mechanism expounding, improving research methods and selecting more objective and reasonable evaluation system. Therefore, the effectiveness and scientificalness of FSN can be further enhanced.

Tetradrine-tashionone II(A)-PLGA composite microspheres were prepared by the SPG membrane emulsification method, and the characterization of tetradrine-tashionone II(A) -PLGA composite microspheres were studied in this experiment. The results of IR, DSC and XRD showed that teradrine and tashionone II(A) in composite microspheres were highly dispersed in the PLGA with amorphous form. The results of tetradrine-tashionone II(A) -PLGA composite microspheres in vitro release experiment showed that the cumulative release amounts of tetradrine and tashionone II(A) were 6.44% and 3.60% in 24 h, and the cumulative release amounts of tetradrine and tashionone II(A) were 89.02% and 21.24% in 17 d. The process of drug in vitro release accorded with the model of Riger-Peppas. Tetradrine-tashionone II(A) -PLGA composite microspheres had slow-release effect, and it could significantly reduce the burst release, prolong the therapeutic time, decrease the dosage of drugs and provide a new idea and method to prepare traditional Chinese medicine compound.
