Objective To analyze the control strategy of malsria in Sihong County for the recent 10 years and to evaluate its control effect. Methods The individual questionnaires of cases, the historical data of malaria control and the endemic situation of malaria in Sihong County from 1997 to.2007 were collected and analyzed. Results Two malaria Cases were reported in 2 towns of Sihong County in 1997,and the endemic situation rebounded in 1998 with 21 cases distributed in 12 towns. In 1999,the number of cases who distributed in 16 towns increased to 65.Endemic outbreaks occurred in some districts in 2000 and 2001 when the case number increased to 477 and 488,respectively,and the incidence increased to 4.77 and 7.78 per 10 000 people, respectively. After the comprehensive mesgures with an emphasis on infection source management and vector control were implemented, the incidence decreased to 0.99 per 10 000 people in 2007 and the endemic situation became stable. Conclusions Though the measures of malaria control in Sihong County are effective, surveillance should be strengthened to prevent the endemic situation from rebounding.

Objective To understand the current status of malaria prevalence, its impacts and malaria transmission trends in Jiangsu Province.MethodsThe malaria incidence, and its symptoms, mosquito preventive measures,Anopheles density, mosquito biting rates and related factors were investigated in malaria epidemic villages as surveillance sites such as Guanshan Town of Suining County,Tangzhang Town of Tongshan County,Tianganghu town of Sihong County,Qiuji Town of Xuyi County and Zhangzhu Twon of Yixing City.ResultsIn 2006,the bednet coverage was 20.29% and bednet-using rate was 34.32% in 27903 residents of 7921 households of 15 administrative villages. In 2005,750 Anopheles sinensi were captured from 50 bednets in the early morning, the human biting ratio was 0.17/person per night, and in 2006,1927 Anopheles sinensi were captured from 50 bednets in the early morning, human biting ratio was 0.38/person per night. The average blood smear checking rate was 2.72%(6089 people)and the average positive rate was 0.48%(29 plasmodium positive individuals).ConclusionThe lower blood smear microscopy testing, few positive rates of febrile patients and increased Anopheles sinensis density were the main factors of malaria relapses in the area of the North Huaihe River in Jiangsu Province.

Objective To conduct a visual analysis of the current status, hotspots, and frontiers of research on renal cell carcinoma targeted therapy using VOSviewer software. Methods Literature related to renal cell carcinoma targeted therapy published between January 1,2006 and December 31,2023,from the Web of Science(WOS)Core Collection database were retrieved.Eligible articles were screened and subjected to bibliometric and visual analysis using VOSviewer software. Results A total of 1,009 articles were selected, with an overall increasing trend in annual publication volume. The top three countries in terms of publication output were the United States,China, and Italy, while the top three institutions were Harvard University,The University of Texas, and France Uni-cancer Insti-tute.The analysis of the core author collaboration network revealed close collaboration among re-searchers in the United States and the United Kingdom, whereas collaboration between China and for-eign countries was limited, resulting in a relatively loose collaboration network.Through co-occur-rence clustering analysis of high-frequency author keywords, nine clusters were generated, with hotspots focusing on targeted and immune combination therapy, efficacy, prognosis, drug resistance, targets, and biomarkers. Conclusion Remarkable progress has been made in renal cell carcinoma tar-geted therapy research over the past decade;however, drug resistance and adverse reactions to targeted therapies remain challenges in clinical treatment.Research related to targeted drug resistance mechanisms, novel targeted drugs, and effective predictive biomarkers has significantly increased.Grasping the developmental trends in this fieldis crucial, and VOSviewer's visual analysis can offer an intuitive representation of the current status, hotspots, and frontiers, thereby providing research-ers with a valuable reference.

Objective:To study the infection and epidemiological characteristics of soil borne nematode disease in Sihong County, Suqian City, and to provide scientific basis for further development of prevention and control measures. Methods:In 2022, according to geographic location, Sihong County was divided into east and west areas. Jieji Town, Shiji Township, and Linhuai Town were selected from the east area, and Tianganghu Township, Meihua Town from the west area. One administrative village was selected as a survey point in each township. Using cluster sampling method, 450 permanent residents aged 3 years old and older in the village were selected as the respondents for questionnaire survey and fecal sample collection. The infection status of hookworms, roundworms, whipworms and pinworms in fecal samples were examined, transparent tape anal swab method for detecting pinworm eggs in children, and influencing factors were analyzed. Results:A total of 2 264 survey subjects were included, 18 cases of soil borne nematodes were detected as positive, with an overall positive rate of 0.80%. Among them, 15 cases were positive for hookworms, 1 case was positive for whipworms, and 2 cases were positive for pinworms, with detection rates of 0.66%, 0.04%, and 0.09%, respectively. No ascaris lumbricoides were detected. Transparent tape anal swab method was used to examine 142 children, and the positivity rate of 1.41% (2/142). By township, the detection rate of soil borne nematodes was the highest in Jieji Town, at 2.41% (11/457); the others were Meihua Town, Tianganghu Township, Shiji Township, and Linhuai Town, with detection rates of 0.89% (4/451),0.66% (3/454), 0 (0/451) and 0 (0/451), respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between different townships (χ 2 = 19.21, P < 0.001). Among the 18 positive cases of soil borne nematode, 7 were males and 11 were females, with detection rates of 0.66% (7/1 063) and 0.92% (11/1 201), respectively, the difference was not statistically significant (χ 2 = 0.47, P = 0.491). The age distribution showed the highest detection rate in the 40 - < 60 age group, at 1.42% (9/634), with statistically significant differences between different age groups (χ 2 = 6.41, P = 0.033). The occupational distribution showed the highest detection rate in farmers, at 1.46% (9/617), with statistically significant differences between different professions (χ 2 = 8.00, P = 0.034). The differences in total soil borne nematode and hookworm detection rates were statistically significant among different methods of treating human and animal feces (χ 2 = 11.01, 9.02, P = 0.003, 0.011). Conclusions:The main species of soil borne nematode infections in Sihong County, Suqian City are hookworms, with fewer infections of whipworms and pinworms, and no roundworm infections observed. There are regional differences in detection rate. In the future, it is necessary to strengthen health education for key populations, enhance health knowledge publicity, and effectively intervene to change unhealthy production and lifestyle, further reducing the infection of soil borne nematodes in Suqian City.
