1.RESPONSE TO PULSATILE ADMINISTRATION OF LHRH IN NORMAL MEN AND PATIENTS WITH IDIOPATHIC HYPOGONADOTROPIC HYPOGONADISM
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(02):-
The gonadotropin and testosterone secretion of 20 normal men and 2 patients with IHH was investigated by pulsatile-subcutaneous administration of LHRH with a single dose of 5?g or 10?g per pulse in the former and 5?g per pulse at 90-min intervals in the latter. Blood samples for FSH, LH and T assays were drawn before and at 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90min after first pulse in normal men and one patient and on the 8th treatment day in the other patient. To observe the dynamic changes in hormone responses to pulsatile LHRH treatment in IHH, blood samples were also taken weekly aV interpulse period just before subsequent pulse. In normal men following a pulsatile injection of LHRH, the peak serum LH levels rose to 2.5 and 2.6 times as much as the basal at 30 min (5?g LHRH) and 45 min (10?g LHRH) respectively, peak FSH levels were elevated to 1.55- and 1.94-fold of the basal at 45 min, while only a tendency tp increase in T concentration was noted. No statistical significance was observed in LH, FSH and T levels between different, doses tested at any phase after LHRH administration in normal men. In IHH, LH, FSH and T levels showed no response after first pulsatile LHRH treatment yet they were increased significantly on the 8th day of treatment. The methodology of pulsatile administration of LHRH by portable pump and the relationship between the doses tested and their responses were discussed.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2009;18(9):704-707
Objective To discuss the technique, therapeutic effect and complications of CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds for the treatment of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Methods With the help of treatment planning system, CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds was performed in 21 patients with pathologically-proved NSCLC. Multi-plane implanting technique was adopted and ~(125)I seeds of (0.5 -0.8) mCi were placed at intervals of (1.0-1.5) cm. Checkup CT scan was carried out immediately after the procedure to make sure that the seeds were satisfactorily distributed. Follow-up CT scanning was made (2-6) months after the treatment to survey the distribution of the seeds within the tumor. The curative effect and complications were also evaluated and observed. The patients were followed for 12 months. Results Of 21 cases, complete remission was seen in 7, obvious remission in 12 and partial remission in 2. The one year survival rate was 90.5% (19/21). Complications included pneumothorax (n = 6) and hemoptysis (n = 2). No serious complications or treatment-related radiation injuries occurred. Conclusion CT-guided interstitial implantation of ~(125)I seeds is a safe and effective treatment for NSCLC with reliable short-term therapeutic effect.

Object To probe into the antihypertension activity mechanism of extracts from Compound Jueming (CJ). Methods The method of radioimmunoassay was used to assay the concentration of the related substances on spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) such as angiotensin Ⅱ (ANGⅡ), renin activity (RA), endothelin (ET), atrial natriuretic polypeptide (ANP), aldosterone (ALD), and urine. Results All of the three doses (9.5, 7.2, and 4.8 g/kg) of extracts from CJ reduced ANG Ⅱ and RA, but had no influence on ALD, ET, ANP, and urine in SHR. Conclusion The antihypertension effect of extracts from CJ is related to decreasing of renin angiotensin, but not to ALD, ET, ANP, and urine.

Objectives: To establish melanoma models of B16 cell line in ICR mice. Methods: Inoculating B16 Melanoma cells in ICR mice's feet, back, abdomen and caudal vein, to establish transplanted and metastatic melanoma models. We observed the morphologic characteristics and examined the pathological parameters of melanoma. We analyzed the relations between the number of B16 cells inoculated and the genesis of tumors, the influence of tumor growth on mice's behavior, and growth curve of the melanoma. Results:Six days later, sesamoid, linear and nodal even kaulifloweroid melanoma were seen gradually in ICR mice's feet, back, abdomen and lung (anatomid) after inoculating. The bearing tumor rates have a positive relation to the number of inoculated B16 cells. The rates of bearing tumor was near 100%, after inoculating with 5?10 6 B16 cells. Conclusions: The B16 melanoma cell line derived from C57/B16 mice(black ) has high rates of bearing tumor in ICR mice (white). The B16 melanoma models in ICR mice are ideal tumor models that have the characteristics of easy established, easy observing and easy obtaining.

In order to encourage the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the state has set up a spe-cial project and funds to construct the National TCM Clinical Research Base. The goal is to establish a regular line with the development of TCM clinical research and innovation platform gradually. Ensuring the project proceeds suc-cessfully, we have taken a series of initiatives that include the personnel training, the establishment of the network center, medical diagnostic centre, imaging centre, ethical platform and the laboratory. Also, we have explored the operation mode which matches the construction. During the process of construction, we have found that four elements are particularly important for the base development, which are top-level design, leadershipˊs attention, financial sup-port, solidarity and cooperation.
