To study the chemical constituents of Cirsium setosum (Willd.) MB., 70% ethanol extract of the aerial parts was subjected to column chromatography. One new phenylpropanoid glycoside, sinapyl alcohol 9-O-(E)-p-coumaroyl-4-O-beta-D-glucopyanoside (1) was isolated, along with three known compounds: lycoperodine-1 (2), apigenin-7-O-(6"-(E)-p-coumaroyl)-beta-D-galactopyranoside (3) and quercetin (4). The structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. Compound 2 was obtained from Cirsium genus for the first time, compounds 3 and 4 were obtained from this plant for the first time.

AIM: To establish a method of simultaneously determining 5 components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill(Flos Caryophylli,Radix Aucklandiae,Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis). METHODS: Five components :eugenol,(costunolide),dehydrocostuslactone,magnolol and honokiol in Muxiang Fenqi Pill were determined simultaneously by HPLC,using a Kromasil C_(18) column(250 mm?4.6 mm,5.0 ?m),acetonitrile-menthanol-water(50∶8∶42) as a mobile phase.The detection wavelength was at 210 nm. RESULTS: The relationship between the concentrations and the peak areas of eugenol,costunolide,dehydrocostuslactone,magnolol and honokiol were linear respectively.The RSD of precision,repeatability and recovery were all less than 1.5%. CONCLUSION: The method is simultaneous determination for five components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill,and can be applied to the quality control of Muxiang Fenqi Pill.

Through reviewing ancient and modern literatures,the effect evolution and disease treatment changes of Belamcanda chinensis were understood.The pharmacological experiments were used to verify its main effects.The combination of featured advantages of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and modern science and technology contributed to the promotion of TCM modernization.It had important significance for the development of effective components,selection of disease types in the treatment for research and development of new TCM drugs.The indication of Belamcanda chinensis was verified from textual research.The treatment of disease types by Belamcanda chinensis was verified from medical books.The treatment of disease types by Belamcanda chinensis compound was analyzed based on the Pujifang database management system.Main indications of Belamcanda chinensis were summarized.Modern pharmacological studies on anti-inflammatory mechanism of main components of Belamcanda chinensis were combined to screen animal models and investigation indexes for the preliminary verification of the efficacy of Belamcanda chinensis.The comprehensive application of classical herbal medicine books and prescription database analysis results showed that removing phlegm and relieving sore throat were the efficacy of Belamcanda chinensis,which was an important medicine in the treatment of pharyngitis and sore throat.In the modern research,serum of experimental group,IL-4 in throat tissues,as well as IgE and LTC4 level in serum and lung tissues were significantly reduced compared to the model group (P＜0.05).It was concluded that the treatment effect of Belamcanda chinensis extract to chronic pharyngitis may be through the decreasing of IgE level in serum and lung tissues,inhibiting IL-4 expression in serum and throat tissues,and the LTC4 expression in serum.

BACKGROUND:The repair process of myocardial injury involves complex cellular and molecular mechanisms,especially mitochondrial calcium homeostasis,macrophage autophagy and pyroptosis pathways.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has shown significant clinical efficacy in improving myocardial injury,but its mechanism of action needs to be thoroughly investigated. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the role of mitochondrial calcium homeostasis-mediated macrophage autophagy and pyroptosis pathways in myocardial injury,and to summarize the progress of TCM in this field. METHODS:A computerized search was performed for relevant literature from the database inception to March 2024 in the Web of Science,PubMed and CNKI.The search terms were"mitochondrial calcium homeostasis,macrophage autophagy,macrophage pyroptosis,traditional Chinese medicine,myocardial injury,myocardial injury reperfusion"in Chinese and English.Through literature review,we analyzed the relationship between mitochondrial calcium homeostasis and macrophage autophagy and pyroptosis,explored the mechanism of their roles in myocardial injury,and summarized the pathways of multi-targeted,multi-pathway effects of TCM. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The maintenance of mitochondrial calcium homeostasis has been found to be closely related to the normal function of cardiomyocytes.Macrophages can participate in the repair process of myocardial injury through autophagy and pyroptosis pathways.Autophagy contributes to cell clearance and regulation of inflammatory response,while pyroptosis affects myocardial repair by releasing inflammatory factors.TCM regulates mitochondrial calcium homeostasis and macrophage function through multiple mechanisms.For example,astragalosid regulates calcium homeostasis by lowering mitochondrial membrane potential and inhibiting cytochrome C,and epimedium glycoside plays a role in reducing β-amyloid deposition.In addition,herbal compounds and single drugs promote myocardial repair by activating or inhibiting specific signaling pathways,such as PI3K/AKT and nuclear factor-κB signaling pathways.Future studies should focus on the interactions between mitochondrial calcium homeostasis,autophagy and pyroptosis pathways,as well as how TCM can exert therapeutic effects through these pathways to provide new strategies and drugs for the treatment of myocardial injury.
