1.Advances of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes

Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HSCT) offers the most effective therapy for patients with myclodysplastic syndromes (MDS) who have a human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched sibling donors and results have improved progressively over the past decade. For patients without an HLA-matched donor,volunteer unrelated donor(VUD) HSCT, unrelated cord blood allogeneic stem cell transplantation (CBT) and autologous HSCT may be the alternative. In this review the indication of transplantation and the prognostic factors for outcome after HSCT including patient age, timing of transplantation, induction chemotherapy before HSCT, conditioning regimens, source of stem cell were analysed.
2.Application of endoscopic pancreatic duct exploration in precise pancreatectomy for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms

The diagnostic rate of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) has been increased as the improvement of imaging and endoscopic techniques.All main duct type and mixed variant IPMNs should be resected as long as the patient is a good surgical candidate with reasonable life expectancy.Evaluation of resection margin ( especially circumferential margins) is very important to prevent the recurrence of IPMNs,and intraoperative pancreatoscopy plays an important role in determining the appropriate size for pancreatic resection.In this article,the experience in the treatment of 1 patient with IPMNs by precise pancreatectomy guided by endoscopy-assisted intraoperative pancreatic duct inspection was introducted.

4.Content Determination Method of α-asarone in Dianxianqing Granules

Objective To discuss the content determination method ofα-asarone in Dianxianqing Granules. Methods Kromasil C18 column (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used, with methanol and water as mobile phase of gradient elution. The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min, and the detection wavelength was 257 nm. The column temperature was 25 ℃. Results The sample solution was prepared by reflux extracted with 70% ethanol for 20 min. α-asarone had a good linearity in the ranges of 1.24×10-3-7.44×10-3μg (r=0.999 5). The method was quite good in precision, stability and repeatability, and the average recovery ofα-asarone was 98.14%, with corresponding RSD of 2.5%. Conclusion The experiment provides an accurate and fast analytical method for α-asarone determination in compound preparation of traditional Chinese medicine.

Bile acid can not only emulsify fat and facilitate the absorption of fat soluble substances,but also it is an important signaling molecules that plays an important physiological role by activating specific bile acid receptors.Takeda G proteincoupled receptor 5 (TGRS) is a membrane receptor of the bile acid,it can activate G-protein effectors and promote the expression of the second messenger and activate a variety of signal transduction pathways to exert physiological functions.The obstructive jaundice bile acid can cause a series of pathophysiological reactions through activating TGR5,which plays a significant role in the obstructive jaundice.In this article,the latest researches about the function and molecular mechanism of TGR5 in obstructive jaundice were reviewed in order to provide a new idea for exploring the new method and strategy to cure the disease.
6.Comparative Study of Complete and Incomplete Cervical Spinal Cord Injuries Complicated with Venous Thromboembolism

Objective To study the incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) between complete and incomplete spinal cord injured patients. Methods 177 cases of acute cervical spinal cord injury were observed from April 2007 to July 2010. According to ASIA classification, 52 cases of grade A involved in observation group, while 125 cases of grades B~D involved in control group. Intervention included low molecular weight heparin and rehabilitation training. Incidence of VTE in two groups was compared. Results There was 11 cases complicated with VTE in the observation group (21.2%) while 6 cases in the control group (4.8%). There was a difference in incidence of VTE between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion There is a higher incidence of VTE in complete than incomplete cervical spinal cord injury
7.Study for the influence of vulvovaginal candidiasis on the pregnancy outcomes

Objective To investigate the incidence of vulvovaginal candidiasis(VVC)in the third trimester,and the effect on the of perinatal outcome.Methods Vaginal discharge samples of 300 gravida were examined and cultured for fungus.According to the clinical feature,the patients were divided into slight VVC group and heavy VVC group.The termination of pregnancy and perinatal outcome were recorded 42 days after delivery.Results The incidence of VVC was 34%.There was significantly higher prevalence of premature rupture of membrane(PROM),afterbirth adherence,premature labor,break of perinaeum when intrapartum,disruption of wound after intrapartum and infection of newborn in the group of heavy VVC,with significant difference as compared with non-VVC group (P<0.01)but with no difference in puerperal infection(P>0.05).Conclusion Heavy VVC is disadvantageousto the mothers and their babies in gravida,and the therapy of VVC in pregnant women should be conducted actively before and after delivery.
8.Cross-sectional area reference values for normal peroneal nerve by high-resolution ultrasonography

Objective To obtain the comprehensive information of the normal peroneal nerve by high resolution ultrasonography.Methods The cross-sectional area was measured by observing the traveling law of peroneal nerve as well as its ultrasonographic features,choosing the polyline level of popliteal and the peroneal nerve around the fibular neck as measurement point.Results There was no significance on statistics in differences of the above-mentioned cross-sectional area.The overall mean of its peroneal nerve were (0.139 ± 0.043)cm2 and (0.114 ± 0.032)cm2 resectively; and its peroneal nerve among men seems a little bit wider than that among women,the old wider than the youth.It was positively correlated with height and weight(r =0.569,0.625,respectively,both P <0.05).Conclusions The high-resolution ultrasound can show the form and shape of the peroneal nerve,thus providing diagnostic criteria in quantity by measuring its normal cross-sectional area.
9.Determination of five components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill by HPLC

AIM: To establish a method of simultaneously determining 5 components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill(Flos Caryophylli,Radix Aucklandiae,Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis). METHODS: Five components :eugenol,(costunolide),dehydrocostuslactone,magnolol and honokiol in Muxiang Fenqi Pill were determined simultaneously by HPLC,using a Kromasil C_(18) column(250 mm?4.6 mm,5.0 ?m),acetonitrile-menthanol-water(50∶8∶42) as a mobile phase.The detection wavelength was at 210 nm. RESULTS: The relationship between the concentrations and the peak areas of eugenol,costunolide,dehydrocostuslactone,magnolol and honokiol were linear respectively.The RSD of precision,repeatability and recovery were all less than 1.5%. CONCLUSION: The method is simultaneous determination for five components in Muxiang Fenqi Pill,and can be applied to the quality control of Muxiang Fenqi Pill.
10.Protect role of Netrin-1 in inflammatory response

Neuronal guidance factor Netrin-1 has been known to be involved in nervous system development by controlling neuronal migration through both chemoattractive and chemo-repulsive signaling by binding different receptors. Netrin-1 has been shown to play a positively regulatory role during inflammatory process recently. Since the chemorepulsive receptors were found in leukocytes, it is suggest that Netrin-1 played a protective role in tissue through inhibiting leukocyte trafficking and accumulating during inflammatory process in researches. It is demonstrated that Netrin-1 can limit inflammatory response through the involvement of inflammatory cascades, attenuate hypoxia-inducible tissue injury and suppress apoptosis concurrently. It is indicated that Netrin-1 can be a novel target in future through preventing and inhibiting inflammatory diseases in these researches. This review will focus on recent relevant advances and in-depth study to elucidate its mechanism of anti-inflammation.
