Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(01):-
Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and diagnosis of primary small intestinal tumor(PSIT). Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical and pathological data of the 31 PSIT cases was made. Results Duodenum was the most common site 67.74% for PSIT. The confirmed diagnosis rate was 54.84%(17/31)(duodenum was 66.67%,14/21; ileum and jejunum was 30%, 3/10, respectively ). 3 cases were benign tumors and 28 were malignant tumors. The adenocarcinoma was the most frequently seen malignant PSIT followed by lymphoma and often in duodenal. The features of the small intestinal tumor could be abdominal pain, abdominal mass, hemorrhage, obstruction, jaundice and fever. The chief method for diagnose was barium meal X-ray examination, especially with the hypotonic contrast X-ray examination and endoscopy.Superior mesenteric arteriography sometimes helped in determing site of gastrointestinal haemorrhage. CT scan could be helpful in diagnosis. Conclusion Duodenal adenocarcinoma is most common PSIT,followed by malignant lymphoma.Endoscopy is the best way to find out the tumor located in duodenum and hypotonic contrast X-ray examination is effective in diagnosis and locating of small bowl tumors.Superior mesenteric arteriography is a good way to find out angioma and leiomyoma. CT scanning are also helpful.

China Oncology 2001;0(03):-
Chemotherapy for lung cancer is expected to prolong the survival of lung cancer patients. multidrug resistance is considered to be a major cause of failure of treatment. Many multidrug resistance mechanisms have contributed to lung cancer drug resistance, such as P glycoprotein (P gp), multidrug resistance associated protein (MRP), lung resistance related protein (LRP). The drug efflux pump mechanisms are the focus of recent researches.

Objective To establish a multidrug resistance cell line from human lung adenocarcinoma. Methods The human lung adenocarcinoma cell line SPC-A-1 was exposed to cisplatin of a high and then increasing concentration for 192 d to establish multidrug resistance cell line (SPC-A-1/CDDP). The relative resistance was tested with MTT assay. The morphology of the cells was observed with transmission and scanning electron microscopy and the chromosome of them was analyzed with Giemsa stained specimens. Results The resistance index of SPC-A-1/CDDP cells to cisplatin was 11.2 and the cells showed various cross-resistance to 5-Fu, doxorubicin, mitomycin, vincristine and etoposide, but not to hydroxycamptothecine. Electron microscopy showed the cells with irregular and enlarged nuclei and abundant microvilli. Conclusion A multidrug resistance cell line (SPC-A-1/CDDP) from human lung adenocarcinoma is established. It can be used to downstream experiment.

Objective To investigate the expression alteration and significance of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)by GWAS(Genome-wide association study)between Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)and its adjacent normal esophageal tissues. Methods lncRNA and mRNA differential expression in 6 pairs of ESCC and matched non-cancerous tissues were screened by microarray assay. The target genes were predicted. Finally , GO(Gene Ontology)and Pathway analysis was used for the further research of lncRNA. Results A total of 680 lncRNA and 1472mRNA were differentially expressed at more than two-fold change(P ≤ 0.05,with 161lncRNA and 653mRNA up-regulated,519lncRNA and 819mRNA down-regulated between ESCC and its adjacent normal esophageal tissues. Gene ontology and pathway analysis results suggested that the differentially expressed genes were involved in 11 pathways.Theyare potentially associated with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma ,including post-translational protein modification ,mucin type O-Glycan biosynthesis and sphingolipid metabolism pathways , which mainly related to the changes of molecular function ,cellular components and biological processes. Through cis and trans analysis,a total of 15 differentially expressed lncRNA had cis-and/or trans-regulated target genes in the database, with 13 lncRNA had cis-regulated target genes,3 lncRNA had trans-regulated target genes, and 1 lncRNA had both cis- and trans-regulated target genes. Conclusion Compared with adjacent normal tissues ,a large number of lncRNA were expressed differentially in ESCC in Xinjiang Han people.Aberrantly expressed lncRNA may play important roles in ESCC development and progression through some signaling pathways ,which are of great significance for further search of new targets for the diagnosis and treatment of ESCC.
