AIM and METHODS: To analysis the factor that involved in renal carcin ogenesis, we used the bait gene AK001518 to screen GenBank. To understand the re lationship between cell cycle related gene(CCRG) and p15, we did RT-PCR and Nort hern Blot experiments. Th en we examined CCRG expression level in renal carcinogenesis. RESULTS: Gained a function unknown gene CCRG that was 67% a mino acid identical with the gene AK00 1 518 that was regulated by p15. It was shown that the CCRG mRNA was dramatically d ecreased when p15 gene was over-expressed. CCRG expression level was much higher i n tumor tissues and cells than normal tissues and cells. CONCLUSION: The novel g ene CCRG expressed highly in the renal carcinoma, which might play a significant role in the renal carcinogenesis.

Objective To investigate the effects of a proliferation-inducing ligand(APRIL) on migration and invasion of colorectal cancer (CRC) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) expression in order to observe the role of APRIL in CRC metastasis. Methods The siRNA plasmid vector targeting APRIL gene (siRNA-APRIL) was transfected into SW480 cells and recombinant human APRIL(rhAPRIL) was used to stimulate HCT-116 cells.Tumor cell migration and invasion were measured by Transwell chambers.RT-PCR and ELISA were applied to examine the expression level of MMPs.Results Metastatic and invasive capacities of siRNA-APRIL transfected SW480 were significantly inhibited, and these capacities of APRIL stimulated HCT-116 cells were significantly enhanced compared with their respective controls( all P<0.05 ),accompanied with the alterations of MMPs mRNA and secreted protein expression( P<0.05).The number of invading cells of SW480 control and rhAPRIL stimulated HCT-116 was significantly decreased by a MMP inhibitor GM6001 ( P<0.05 ).Conclusion APRIL facilitates migration and invasion of CRC via regulation of MMPs,which suggests that APRIL might be used as a new target for the intervention and treatment of CRC metastasis.

Objective To understand the impairment and compensation mechanism of brain function in pa-tients with non-fluent aphasia after ischemic stroke. The fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuation (fALFF) method was used to analyze the functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data in the resting state between the aphasia patients and the normal controls. Methods The scans of the resting state of fMRI were performed in 17 aphasia patients and 19 age-, education-, and sex-matched healthy control subjects. The scan sequence was single-shot echo planar image,DPARSF software was used to analyze fALFF data of the aphasia patients and the healthy controls. Results Compared to the control group, the value in right superior temporal gurus, inferior parietal lob-ule, frontal lobe cortex, and postcentral gurus were significantly increased in the aphasia group. The fALFF in bilat-eral cerebellum and right thalamus were also decreased in the aphasia group. Conclusions The fALFF values in some brain region in the aphasia group were abnormal in the resting state , indicating a few pathological change of brain function in patients with non-fluent aphasia after ischemic stroke.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of MR fast scanning techniques in fetal congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Methods 12 cases diagnosed or suspected fetal congenital diaphragmatic hernia by ultrasound with gestational age (>20 weeks) were underwent MR examination. The fast scan sequences were as follows:Half-Fourier acquisition single-shot fast spinecho se-quence(HASTE)、True fast imaging steady-state precession sequence (True FISP)、Turbo FLASH T1 WI sequence. The axial,co-ronal and sagittal scanning were focused on fetal head and body. The results of prenatal MR examination was compared with neonatal surgical findings or autopsy results after inducing labor. Results All of 12 cases,9 cases were left diaphragmatic hernia,2 cases were right diaphragmatic hernia and 1 case was hiatal hernia.2 cases of them were complicated with other congenital malformations. The features of MRI were as follows:Some portions of bowels and stomach crossed into the thorax were visible in the HASTE and TRUE FISP sequence. The herniated stomach and bowels showed high or scattered high signals. The intestinal types were visible as well. The lung tissue intruded at the apex of the lung and the heart deviated to the opposite side were demonstrated.T1 weighted im-ages obtained from ultra-fast FLASH (Turbo FLASH)T1WI sequence showed characteristic high signals in the meconium, which delineated clearly the shape of the colon and small intestine. The prenatal MRI results of all cases were consistent with surgical (10 cases)and autopsy (2 cases)findings. Conclusion MR fast scanning techniques can clearly show fetal congenital diaphragmatic her-nia.Multiple sequences scanning can comprehensively map the organizational structure and anatomical relationship of fetal congenital diaphragmatic hernia with the surrounding tissues.MR fast scanning techniques play an important role in the diagnosis of fetal con-genital diaphragmatic hernia.
