OBJECTIVE To investigate pathogenic bacteria isolated from children with respiratory tract infection(RTI) and bacterial resistance to commonly used antimicrobial agents in Guilin area,so as to instruct the rational use of antibiotics.METHODS Routine methods were used to isolate and identify bacteria species and samples of sputum or throat swabs were collected from children with respiratory infection in inpatient departments. The drug susceptibility tests were performed by Kirby-Bauer method.RESULTS Total 733 strains of bacteria were isolated. The Haemophilus influenzae(HI) was the most common(165 strains),followed by Escherichia coli(136 strains) and Streptococcus pyogenes(51 strains). The resistance of HI to trimetoprim-sulfa methoxazole and ampicillin was 59.39% and 36.36%,respectively.Cephalosporins and quinolones were more sensitive to HI.Imipenem, quinolones and amikacin were more sensitive to E.coli as yet.The resistant rate of Streptococcus to penicillin-G,erythromycin,clindamycin and trimetoprim-sulfa methoxazole was 56.79-69.63%.CONCLUSIONS Gram-negative bacilli are the main pathogenic bacteria in childrens respiratory tract infection. The drug resistance is conspicuous.Antibiotics for treating RTI should be selected based on pathogenic bacteria variance and the drug susceptibility test.

Objective To explore the prognosis of endoscopic tissue adhesives injection in treating liver cirrhosis patients with esophageal gastric varices (GOV),and to evaluate the effects of various factors on bleeding after treatment. Methods A total of 157 liver cirrhosis patients with GOV treated by endoscopic tissue adhesives injection with or without ligation therapy were retrospectively analyzed. The basic information, liver function and blood biochemical values of patients at enrollment were investigated. The analysis of bleeding after treatment was conducted by Kaplan-Meier.The survival curves comparison was conducted by Log-rank test.Logistic regression model was used for multivariate analysis. The prognosis predictors were evaluated by receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves and the area under the curve (AUC).Results Rebleeding happened in 26 of 157 patients. The median rebleeding time was 3.4 months. The results of univariate analysis indicated that there were statistical differences in FIB4 scores (Z=-1.282,P=0.100) and the inner diameter of the right portal vein (Z=-1.812,P=0.035) between bleeding group and no bleeding group. The results of multivariate analysis showed that the inner diameter of the right portal vein was independent prognostic factor of rebleeding (OR =1.733,95% CI:1.045 to 2.874,P =0.033).Optimal diagnostic threshold was 8.5 mm (AUC=0.724,95 %CI:0.537 to 0.910),sensitivity and specificity was 77.8% and 66.6% respectively. Conclusions The inner diameter of the right portal vein was one of the important factors that affected the efficacy of tissue adhesives injection in preventing bleeding and the prognosis.FIB4 score had certain reference value in predicting recurrence or bleeding after treatment.

OBJECTIVETo establish a rapid method of loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) for detecting enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157:H7.
METHODSSix primers that specifically recognized the rfbE gene of EHEC O157:H7 were designed. Under the optimized reaction conditions, LAMP and PCR were evaluated for the sensitivity and specificity in the detection of 39 laboratory samples of EHEC O157:H7 strains, and their detection results of contaminated fresh pork samples were compared.
RESULTSLAMP assay correctly identified all the 7 EHEC O157:H7 strains and showed negative results for all the 32 non-EHEC O157:H7 strains. The detection limit of LAMP was much lower than that of rfbE-PCR (10 vs 100 cfu/ml). In the detection of the contaminated pork samples, both LAMP and PCR yielded results consistent with those by the conventional detection method.
CONCLUSIONThe rfbE-based LAMP assay can serve as a rapid, sensitive, specific and low-cost means for detecting EHEC O157:H7 strain.

Objective:To explore the effect of a new teaching mode, which includes bridge-in, outcome, pre-test, participation, post-test and summary (BOPPPS), on the online teaching of radiobiology related knowledge for cancer radiotherapy practitioners. Methods:Taking the cell survival curve, cell cycle and radiosensitivity as examples, the radiotherapy practitioners in multiple university-affiliated hospitals were organized to carry out a multicenter prospective randomized control study. All practitioners were randomly divided into BOPPPS group and control group. The courses for BOPPPS group were designed as an online classroom, consisting of pre-class preparation, online teaching and post-class stages. The online teaching stage included video viewing, basic knowledge learning, literature discussion, group discussion and others. The control group employed the traditional teaching mode. The χ2 test was used to compare the consistency of general conditions between the two groups, and nonparametric test was used to compare the differences in scores between two or more groups. Results:The score of the pre-class test was 58.56 ± 0.99. Post-class average score for BOPPPS group was 85.48±0.85 and for control group 77.79±1.10, with the former being higher 7.69 ( Z=5.31, P<0.001) than the latter. The average answer time was (296.62±15.40) s for BOPPPS group and (386.41±21.27) s for control group, with the former being shorter 89.79 s ( Z=3.34, P=0.001) than latter. Subgroup analysis shown that the scores of BOPPPS group were significantly rising, regardless of whether or not the students had studied radiobiology courses. Among the students who have not studied these courses, the scores were rising greatly. Moreover, From the analysis of different positions, it was found that both the scores of BOPPPS group and control group have risen, especially for doctors, deputy chief doctors, physicists and technicians. There were also statistically differences between different degrees, with significantly rise in scores for undergraduate and doctoral students ( Z=3.64, 4.18, P<0.001). Conclusions:The flexible application of BOPPPS teaching mode to the online education of such boring disciplines, like radiobiology, is of great significance to raise the theoretical basis of radiotherapy practitioners.

Objective To investigate the status quo of pain catastrophizing(PC)in the patients with di-abetic peripheral neuropathic pain(DPNP),and to analyze the influencing factors to provide reference for for-mulating clinical preventive intervention strategies. Methods A total of 206 patients with DPNP admitted and treated in the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were selected as the research sub-jects by convenience sampling method. The general data questionnaire,Numerical Rating Scale(NRS),Pain Catastrophizing scale(PCS),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)and diabetes distress scale(DDS)were used to conduct the investigation. Results The incidence rate of PC in 206 cases of DPNP patients was 44.66%(92/206),and the total score of PCS was(30.10±5.16)points.The results of multiple linear regres-sion analysis showed that the gender, duration of diabetes(≥10 years),multiple drug use, number of compli-cations(>5),NRS score,PSSS score and scores of DDS dimensions were the main influencing factors of PC(all P<0.05),which could explain 92.3%of the total variation of PC.Conclusion The PC incidence rate in the patients with DPNP is high.Clinical healthcare workers should pay attention to the evaluation of PC in these patients, and formulate the scientific and effective targeted intervention measures according to the main influen-cing factors to help the patients to reduce the pain burden in order to reduce the level of PC.
