Objective To analyze the CT findings of lung cystic echinococcosis with infections, and to assess the value of CT examination. Methods The CT characters of 23 cases of pathologically proved lung cystic echinococcosis were analyzed and CT findings were compared with pathology. Results All 23 cases of lung cystic echinococcosis appeared as single cystic lesions. Fifteen cases appeared in the right lung, and the other 8 in the left. The lesions located in lower lobe were more than those in the upper lobe. According to the CT examination, it could be divided into two types: (1) simple lesion (7 cases) appeared as irregular solid mass with different size, crude edge, and lobulation, and with fiber shadows in the lung field around the lesions. In 6 cases, curvilinear or spotty calcification occurred in the lesions. (2) echinococcosis as a bag (16 cases) appeared as a mass with cystic changes in lung tissue with different size and off-center cystic cavity. The lesions took the form of ball or irregular shape. The edge was crude. Around the focus, prickle-like or patchy changes were detected. Ruptured lesions showed “water snake” or “flow ribbon” signs in 4 cases. In 7 cases, calcification occurred on the cystic wall or extended into the inside contents. Conclusion CT could accurately demonstrate the location, appearance, internal structure, and adjacent situation of the cystic echinococcosis, providing valuable information for correct diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To analyze the ability of rheumatologistto read the magnetic resonance imag of sacroiliac joint of spondyloarthritis patients.Methods The questionnaire survey were conducted among rheumatologists and the answers of the questionnaires were analyzed by quantitative analysis.Results 66.9％ (75/112) rheumatologist did not known how to choose the sequence of magnetic resonance imaging,and 55.4％(62/112) rheumatologist thought that bone marrow edema was very important for the diagnosis of spondyloarthritis,but only less than 10％ rheumatologists thought that erosion and fat infiltration could also h elp to make the diagnosis of spondy-loarthritis.Conclusion It is very important for rheumatologists to receive training on the reading of magnetic resonance images of sacroiliac joint of spondyloarthritis patients.

Objective To investigate spinemagnetic resonance imaging(MRI) findings in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (SpA) and to analyze the correlation between imaging and clinical manifestation.Methods The clinical data of patients with axial SpA were recorded.All patients underwent whole spine MRI scanning.The MRI findings of spinal involvement were explored.Moreover,the correlation between lesions in spinal MRI and Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index(BASDAI),Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI),Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI),nocturnal pain visual analogue scale (VAS) score,back pain VAS score,global disease activity VAS score,Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity score (ASDAS),erythrocyte sedimentation rate,C-reactive protein was analyzed.Results Thirty-three patients with axial SpA were included in this study.The image abnormalities of the spine were confirmed in 29 axial SpA patients by MRI,including Romanus lesion,Andersson lesion,the inflammation of facet joints and syndesmophyte.In correlation study,BASMI was positively correlated to the numbers of acute Romanus lesions,chronic Romanus lesions,chronic Andersson lesions and whole spinal lesions(r =0.440,P＜0.05; r =0.483,P＜0.05; r=0.421,P＜0.05; r=0.589,P ＜ 0.05 respectively).There was a statistically significant correlation between chronic Andersson lesions and BASFI(r =0.392,P ＜0.05).But no significant associations were found between MRI lesions and other clinical findings.Conclusions MRI lesions in axial SpA were associated with findings reflecting the spinal function,which can better guide the clinical treatment.

Objective To evaluate the performance of DNA microarray for rapid detection resistance to rifampin and isoniazid in Mycobacterium tuberculosis clinical isolates and identify suitable target sites for molecular genetic test.Methods Twenty-four clinical Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates were collected retrospectively from Shenzhen Center for Chronic Disease Control in 2009 and 127 isolates from project on anti-tuberculosis drug resistance surveillance in Shenzhen during 2007 to 2009.Drug susceptibility to rifampin and isoniazid of the stains were determined by DNA microarray,and results were compared to that obtained with reference proportion method drug susceptibility testing for sensitivity,specificity and accuracy.The consistency of microarray and phenotypic susceptibility testing was evaluated by Kappa test.Genetic mutations in rpoB,katG,inhA,regulatory region of inhA,and regulatory region of ahpC were investigated by DNA sequencing to assess proper loci for rapid molecular diagnosis.Results Compared against results of proportion method,the sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of the DNA microarray assay for rifampin resistance were 94.4％,97.5％ and 96.0％ respectively,and for isoniazid resistance were 79.1％,100％ and 86.8％ respectively.Mutations in resistance-determining region of rpoB were observed in 97.2％ (70/72) of the isolates resistant to rifampin,which contributed in the 531,526,516,511 and 533codon region.Mutations in katG315 codon,inhA-15,and ahpC regulatory region were found in 70.3％ (64/91),11.0％ (10/91) and 9.9％ (9/90) of the isolates resistant to isoniazid,respectively.Mutations of ahpC promoter region consists of ahpC-9 (4 strains),ahpC-10 (2 strains),ahpC-6 (2 strains),ahpC-12 (1 strain),and ahpC-32 (1 strain).Conclusions DNA microarray provided a rapid method for the detection of drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates,and demonstrated good performance except less sensitive for isoniazid resistance.The mutations in ahpC regulatory region might be good target loci for detection of isoniazid-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis,so screening the region may significantly improve the sensitivity for molecular genetic tests.

OBJECTIVETo explore methods of treating middle and distal tibia nonunion with the treatment of advanced bone graft combined with locking compression plate.

METHODSFrom January 2011 to December 2012, 12 patients with middle and distal tibia nonunion were treated with advanced bone graft combined with locking compression plate. Among patients, there were 8 males and 4 females aged from 20 to 69 with an average of 47 years old. The time from first injuries to bone nonunion was from 9 months to 5 years, avergaed 19 months. Four cases were treated with external fixation, 6 cases were treated with plate fixation, 2 cases of 12 patients occurred broken of plate and nail. Eleven patients were non-infective bone nonunion and 1 patient was infective bone nonunion. Preoperative X-ray and CT showed all patients had sequestration and formation of ossified bone with different degrees. Operative time, blood loss, wound healing were observed, fracture healing time was evaluated by postoperative X-ray. Johner-Wruhs scoring standards was used to evaluate ankle joint function after operation at 10 months.

RESULTSOperative time ranged from 90 to 185 min with an average of (125.00±20.15) min; blood loss ranged from 225 to 750 ml with an average of (415.00±120.00) ml. All patients were followed up from 10 months to 2.5 years with an average of 1.5 years. Postoperative X-ray showed bone union was formed around fracture after operation at 4 months in all patients, 3 cases obtained bone healing within 6 months after operation, 9 cases obtained from 8 to 12 months. No infection, injury of nerve and vessles, and broken of plate and nail were ocurred. According to Johner-Wruhs scoring at 10 months after operation, 10 cases obtained excellent results, 1 good and 1 moderate.

CONCLUSIONAdvanced bone graft combined with locking compression plate, which can build fracture multi-point supporting based on full compression of bone nonunion to get effective fixation, is an effective method in treating middle and distal tibia nonunion.

Objective To evaluate the specificity and limitations of sacroiliac joint magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of axial spondyloarthritis (SpA)in patients with chronic low back pain.Methods We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of 390 patients with chronic low back pain in Department of Rheumatology,the PLA General Hospital from January 2013 to December 2015,including clinical manifestations,laboratory examinations and MRI data of sacroiliac joints.Results There were 238 men and 152 women recruited.A total of 326 cases were diagnosed as axial SpA,including 216 men and 110 women with mean age (27.10 ± 8.64) years and mean duration (7.64 ± 3.50) months.Among these 326 patients,243 (74.5％) were HLA-B27 positive.The other 64 patients were considered as diagnoses rather than SpA (non-SpA),consisting of 22 men and 42 women with mean age (31.29 ± 7.76) years and mean duration (5.75 ±2.90)months.Non-SpA group had 10 (15.6％) patients with HLA-B27 positive.There were 68.1％ and 65.0％ SpA patients showing bone marrow edema and bone erosion of sacroiliac joint in MRI imaging respectively.Although there were 25.0％ non-SpA patients with bone marrow edema and 7.8 ％ with bone erosion in MRI of sacroiliac joint,the scores of bone marrow edema 0.00 (0.00,0.75) and bone erosion [0.00(0.00,0.00)] were significantly lower compared with those in axial SpA group [bone marrow edema scores 2.00 (0.00,4.00),bone erosion scores 1.00 (0.00,3.00);P ＜ 0.05].The scores of fat infiltration [1.00 (0.00,4.25),1.00 (0.00,4.00)] and bone sclerosis [0.00 (0.00,1.00),0.00(0.00,1.75)] were not statistically different between two groups.Diagnostic sensitivity of bone marrow edema and bone erosion for axial SpA were 56.4％ and 64.1％ respectively,specificity were 93.8％ and 92.2％ respectively.The positive predictive value of bone marrow edema and bone erosion for axial SpA were 9.09 and 8.21,negative predictive value were 0.46 and 0.38.Diagnositic sensitivity of fatty infiltration and bone sclerosis for axial SpA group were 29.1％ and 57.7％,specificity were 64.1％ and 46.9％.The positive predictive value of fatty infiltration and bone sclerosis for axial SpA were 0.81 and 1.08,negative predictive valne were 1.10 and 0.90.Conclusion Sacroiliac joint MRI is a valuable method to diagnose axial SpA in patients with chronic low back pain.Yet it still has some limitations.Clinical presentations and spinal MRI would be helpful in some patients.

Objective Investigation of biological characteristics of Cdc 20AAA/+APCmin/+ mouse embryonic fibroblast(MEFs) indicate the effect of Cdc20AAA/+on growth of mouse embryonic fibroblast and the possible mechanism . Methods MEFs of Cdc20AAA/+APCmin/+, Cdc20AAA/+, APCmin/+ and WT genotype were harvested from embryos for analysis.The growth characteristics of Cdc20AAA/+APCmin/+, Cdc20AAA/+,APCmin/+and WT mouse embryonic fibroblast were analyzed through growth curve analysis and foci formation assay .Separation of sister chromatid and the presence of aneuploid were detected by karyotype analysis .Results Cell proliferation assays showed that Cdc 20AAA/+APCmin/+cells grew at an accelerated rate compared with APC min/+MEFs(P<0.01).Foci formation assay showed that the clone forming ability was significantly increased .Cdc20AAA/+APCmin/+MEFs showed a significant increase in the frequency of aneuploid compared with WT MEFs , which had a karyotype of 38 and contained prematurely separated sister chromatids .Conclusion Cdc20 carrying a null allele (Cdc20AAA/+) may accelerate the growth and proliferation of APC min/+MEFs and present the growth characteristics of the tumor cells .The possible mechanism may be associated with chromosome instability .

Background The tissue-engineered cornea is becoming the hot spot in the ophthalmologic field,while the research of corneal substitute is in the ascendant,because it is more similar to the corneal morpha and easy to survive in vivo.Objective This study was to investigate the biocompatibility of recombinant human type-Ⅲ collagen/poly9 ( 3-( methacryloylamino ) propyl dimethyl ( 3-sulfopropyl ) ammonium hydroxide ) ( PMPDSAH ) interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) (RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN) hydrogel as a tissue-engineered cornea in rabbit eye and its feasibility as the corneal substitute.Methods One hundred and eight rabbits were randomly divided into experimental group( 90 rabbits) and normal control group ( 3 rabbits),and 15 rabbits ( 30 eyes ) used as the donor corneas.RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN,NGF PMPDSAH IPN and corneal grafts were lamellarly transplanted into the right eyes in RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN group,NGF PMPDSAH IPN group and allograft group respectively.The corneal transparency and neovascularization were examined and scored under the slim lamp and compared among three groups using Kraskal-Wallis H test.The corneal epithelization time was observed and compared among these three groups using one way analysis of variance and LSD-t test.The histological examination of corneas was performed at the 3rd day,1st and 2nd week,1 st,3rd and 6th month after the surgery.The immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of K3 in cornea at the 6th month.Results The grafts were well attached in RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN group,NGF PMPDSAH IPN group and allograft group,and no rejection reaction was found throughout 6-month following up.Compared with normal control group,no significant differences were found in the scores of corneal opacification and neovescularization in these three groups (x2 =4.34,P =0.23 ;x2 =2.60,P =0.46 ) at the 6th month.NGF PMPDSAH IPN group achieved reepithelialization in (4.97±0.63) days and was obviously shorted than that in RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN group and allograft group ( t =11.97,P =0.00; t =5.80,P =0.00).The re-epithelialization time in RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN was (6.86±0.71) days,and that of allograft group was (5.87±0.43 ) days,showing a significant difference ( t =6.32,P =0.00).Hematoxylin-eosin staining results demonstrated that implanted materials integrated into the host corneal tissue well and support corneal epithelialization.Part of the material degraded at the 2nd week and degraded completely 1 month later.Regular alignment and distribution of collagen fibers were seen in the regenerated cornea and were similar to those of the normal stroma in 6 months.Immunohistochemistry showed the positive expression of keratin-3 in corneal epithelial cells.Conclusions RHC-Ⅲ/PMPDSAH IPN has a good biocompatibility without toxicity to corneal tissue.Furthermore,NGF can promote the corneal wound-healing and re-epithelialization.The material can be used as safe and reliable corneal substitute after improving the mechanical strength.

Objective To investigate the change of oxidation system and antioxidation system in mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(MsPGN) induced by anti-Thy1.1 antibody,and further to study the intervention of rosmarinic acid(RAD).Methods Anti-THy1.1 serum was produced,and then intravenously injected into rats for establishing an experimental model of MsPGN.The experiment was designed for control with or without RAD,glomerulonephritis with or without RAD,respectively.The activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and the content of malondialdehyde(MDA) in tissue homogenate were detected by spectrophotomerty.Results The activity of SOD significantly decreased,while the content of MDA increased in MsPGN.RAD could inhibit oxidation in the mesangial cells.Conclusion Lipid peroxidation participates in MsPGN and RAD can control the changes of the mesangial cells and show the activity of antioxidation.

Objective To explore the association of Gly71Arg mutation in gene of bilirubin uridine 5'-diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferase(UGT1A1)and neonatal jaundice in Beijing city Han population.Methods The genotypes and alleles of the Gly71 Arg polymorphism for UGT1A1 gene were identified by polymerase chain reaction-restricted fragment length polymorphism assay in infants of Beijing city Han population of China,including 96 infants with neonatal jaundice[serum bilirubin(307.06?38.5)?mol/L,indirect bilirubin(292.9?35.9)?mol/L] and 101 healthy control infants [serum bilirubin(131.2?42.1)?mol/L,indirect bilirubin(126.3?39.7)?mol/L].The genotypes and allele frequencies of the polymorphism were compared between infants with neonatal jaundice group and healthy infant group(control group).The effect of polymorphism in infants with neonatal jaundice group on serum bilirubin level were analyzed.Results There were significant differences in genotypes distribution in Gly71Arg polymorphism for UGT1A1 gene between the 2 groups(?2=9.47 P=0.002).Compared with control group,neonatal jaundice group had significantly higher Arg allele frequency in the polymorphism for UGT1A1 gene(?2=10.34 P=0.001).There were independent effects of Gly71Arg mutation in the gene on serum bilirubin level in neonatal jaundice group,at the carriers of homozygote of the Arg allele of Gly71Arg polymorphism had higher serum bilirubin levels compared to carriers of heterozygote of the Arg allele of the polymorphism and non-carriers of the Arg allele of the polymorphism(Pa
