Objective:To study the relationship of retaining time of tympanic ventilation tube and aural complications. Method:Three-hundred-five patients(659 ears)with otitis media with effusion(OME)received tympanostomy tube insertion. The tube were removed 6-36 months after tube insertion. Then aural complications were recorded in different tube retaining time, followed with a statistic analysis. Result: Fifty-five tubes of 29 patients were removed at 1-6 months after tube insertion, with spontaneous extrusion 3.4%, blocked tube 10. 3%, intrusion into the middle ear O, granulation 'tissue O, cholesteatoma O, otorrhea 6.9%, perforation O. One hundred and ninty tubes of 96 patients were removed at 6-12 months after tube insertion,with spontaneous extrusion 7. 3%,blocked tube 15.6%, intrusion into the middle ear 1%, granulation tissue O, cholesteatoma O, otorrhea 5.2%,perforation O. Three huandred and eight tubes of 156 patients were removed at 12-24 months after tube insertion, with spontaneous extrusion 9%,blocked tube 12.8% ,intrusion into the middle ear 1.3%,granulation tissue 1.9% ,cholesteatoma 0.6%,otorrhea 2.5%,perforation was O. One hundred and sixty one tubes of 83 patients were removed at 24-36 months after tube insertion, with spontaneous extrusion 36.1%, blocked tube 53%, intrusion into the middle ear 6%, granulation tissue 3. 6%, cholesteatoma 2.4%, otorrhea 2.4%, perforation 2.4%. Conclusion:The occurrence of complication didn't increase with time going by when the ventilation tube retained less than two years. However, when the ventilation tube retained more than two years, the occurrence of spontaneous extrusion and blocked tube increased obviously.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic efficacy and safety of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) combined Wenshen Xiaozheng Decoction (WXD) in auxiliary treating endometriosis after laparoscopy.

METHODSOne hundred and thirty-four endometriosis patients with confirmative pathological diagnosis were assigned to three groups depending on whether they would receive adjuvant therapy or Chinese medicine treatment, i.e., the control group, the observation 1 group, and the observation 2 group. The 22 patients in the control group received no adjuvant therapy after laparoscopy. The 42 patients in the observation 1 group were treated with GnRHa 3.6 mg by subcutaneous injection starting from the 1st day to the 5th day of menstruation, once per 28 days. The 70 patients in the observation 2 group were treated with GnRHa 3.6 mg by subcutaneous injection in combination with WXD starting from the 1st day to the 5th day of menstruation, once per 28 days. They also took WXD for 7 doses, one cycle per every 28 days. The treatment lasted for three to six months. Serum levels of estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and cancer antigen 125 (CA125), as well as clinical efficacy, and adverse drug reactions were observed before and after treatment.

RESULTSThere was statistical difference in serum levels of E2, FSH, or LH between the control group and the observation 1 and 2 groups (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in serum levels of E2, FSH, or LH between the observation 1 group and the observation 2 group (P > 0.05). There was statistical difference in the clinical efficiency among the 3 groups (P < 0.05). There was statistical difference in the pre-post difference of CA125 levels among the three groups (P < 0.01). Compared with the control group, there was no statistical difference in the pre-post difference of CA125 levels between the observation 1 group and the observation 2 group (P > 0.05). No obvious adverse reaction occurred during the treatment.

CONCLUSIONSGnRHa combined WXD showed confirmative clinical efficacy in treating endometriosis after laparoscopy. It also could lower serum levels of E2, FSH, and LH levels. So it was an ideal solution for treatment of endometriosis.

The influence of separating effect of different chromatographic conditions of mouse gut flora by high performance ion exchange chromatography analysis was studied. The optimum chromatographic conditions for separating gut bacteria were determined. The sample was applied to the chromatography column packed with Toyopearl SuperQ-650c anion resin, equilibrated with 0.02mol/L piperazin-hydrochloric acid buffer (pH 8.0), and elution salt 1mol/L NaCl, eluted with the gradient of 0-50% NaCl/ 80 min, then 50%~75% NaCl/ 25 min at the flow rate 1ml/min, and injecting volume was 1ml.Under these conditions, intestinal flora were separated into several fractions. The establishment of HPLC analysis method will lay a foundation of further research on the components of mouse gut flora and their dynamic changes.

·AlM: To explore the treatment effect of initial lacrimal passage irrigation and probing in neonatal dacryocystitis. · METHODS: ln this retrospective case series study, 224 outpatients ( 256 eyes ) with neonatal dacryocystitis were selected from January 2012 to December 2012 in our hospital.The patients were divided into 5 groups ( 1 ~3mo, 4~60mo, 7 ~9mo, 10 ~12mo and >12mo).lnitial lacrimal passage irrigation and probing were operated, the therapeutic effect of different groups were compared. ·RESULTS:ln this study, 256 eyes of 224 cases, 242 eyes (94.5%) were cured and 14 eyes ( 5.5%) were failed. Bony nasolacrimal duct obstruction happened more obviously in children aged more than 10mo with lower cure rate.More probing was required with the children aged (Spearman rank correlation analysis, γs=0.746, P<0.01).All of the 226 eyes with Hasner valve obstruction were cured.Bony nasolacrimal duct obstruction was 30 eyes, 16 eyes were cured (the cure rate was 53.3%).The cure rate of two parts of the obstruct had significant difference.There were no cases of infection and false passage.
· CONCLUSlON: The treatment of primary lacrimal passage irrigation and probing in neonatal daryocystitisis effective and safe, the optimal timing of treatment is 1 ~9mo.With the growth of age, the cure rate is decreased.

OBJECTIVETo study the proliferation and apoptosis of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) on leukemic U937 cells and its possible mechanism.

METHODThe inhibitory effect of TMP on the proliferation of U937 cells was detected by CCK-8 assay. The cell apoptosis and cycle distribution were examined by the flow cytometry. The mRNA expressions of bcl-2 and P27 were determined by the Real-time PCR. Western blot was carried out to detect bcl-2, caspase-3, cyclin E1, CDK2 and P27 expressions.

RESULTTMP inhibited the proliferation of U937 cells in a dose-and-time dependent manner, with IC50 value of 160 mg x L(-1) at 48 h. In addition, TMP could induce the apoptosis of U937 cells and block the cell cycle in G0/G1 phase. According to the results of Real-time PCR and Western blot, TMP could down-regulate the expression of apoptosis-related molecule bcl-2, cycle-related protein cyclin E1 and CDK2 and up-regulate caspase-3 and P27.

CONCLUSIONTMP shows the effects in inhibiting the proliferation of leukemic U937 cells and inducing the apoptosis. Its mechanism may be related to the impacts on the cell cycle distribution, down-regulation of the bcl-2 expression, which finally activates caspase-3, starts the apoptosis path and causes the cell apoptosis.

Objective To evaluate the blood supply features and effectiveness of arterial chemoembolization for pedunculated hepatocellular carcinoma.Methods Angiography and chemoembolization via supplying blood arteries of tumor were performed in five patients with pedunculated hepatocellular carcinoma.Interventional procedure was carried out with tumor vascular infusion of 350 mg hot elemene emulsion and tumor embolization by cisplantin-lipidol emulsion(cisplantin 60-80 mg+lipidol 8-15 ml)and glutin.Results Ten interventional procedures(TACE)were undertaken in 5 patients.Angiography showed that tumor blood supply mainly coming from collateral circulation adjacent to the tumors,but partially from hepatic artery.Tumor sizes decreased from 30% to 50% in 5 cases,and AFP declined in 4 cases after the treatment. Conclusion Pedunculated hepatocellular carcinoma possessing different blood supply features from intrahepatocellular carcinomas.But transarterial ehemoembolization is still an effective method of choice for this treatment.

Objective This study aimed to explore the correlated effects of family environment on children aged 0-4 who were suffered from disabilities.Economic conditions of the families and socio-economic status of the parents were also analyzed.Methods Based on the database from the National Sample Survey on Disability in 2006,a new database was intercepted with the information of children aged 0-4 and their parents.The total sample size was 73 394.Descriptive analysis and binary logistic regression were used to explore the effects related to family environment.Software used in statistical analysis was SPSS 16.0.Results The risks of disability started before the age of 3,and increased along with age (the odds ratios on children at 0 to 4 years old were 0.47,0.66,0.90,1.56 and 1.47),which described the “cumulative” nature of prevalence levels of disability.The risk of disability among male children was higher than female (OR =0.82).The lower the per capita household income was,the higher the risks of disability of the children ( OR≤683 =1.80 ; OR684-944 =1.79; OR945-2948 =1.23 ; OR2949-7254 =0.71 ; OR≥7255=0.34) appeared.When living together with parents under the same roof,the risk of disability was significantly correlated with their parents' schooling:literate vs.illiteracy (with father P≤0.001,OR =2.18 and mother P=0.02,OR=1.82).Regarding the parents elementary school education,it appeared that only on father,the result was P=0.05,OR=1.56.Employment status of the father was not significantly correlated with children' s incidence of disability,while the mother' s employment status was significant (P=0.02,OR=1.19).Data from the descriptive analysis showed that factors as first marriage and remarriage of the mother were significantly correlated to their children' s occurrence of disability while remarriage of the father was also a significant factor.However,in multivariate analysis,both father and mother' s marriage status were not significantly important.Conclusion Reducing the risk of disability was important on the health of children.Among younger children,the family environment appeared to have the direct impact on the occurrence of disability.
