Objective The present study was undertaken to investigate the properties of nonlinear dynamics of EEG and the changes in depth of anesthesia with real-time approximate entropy (ApEn) and complexity (Cx) nonlinear indexes monitoring during anesthesia. Methods EEG was recorded in 65 in-patients. They were randomly divided into 4 groups: isoflurane, sevoflurane, desflurane (n=15, respectively), and propofol intravenous anesthesia (n=20) groups. The EEG derived parameters ApEn and Cx non-linear indexes were calculated simultaneously during the whole operation including rest state with eyes closed, anesthetic induction, intraoperation, recovery, post-operation awaking. Results ApEn and Cx nonlinear indexes remained the highest during rest state. Both of them kept decreasing during anesthetic induction. They dropped to a relative lower value and leveled off in the intra-operation period. Both of them rose gradually during recovery period and returned to a high level in the post-operation awaking period (correspondingly, ApEn: 0.87, 0.78, 0.55, 0.64 and 0.83. Cx: 0.58, 0.54, 0.38, 0.46 and 0.57). Conclusions With ApEn and Cx non-linear indexes, changes in depth of anesthesia from EEG signal could be real-timely monitored and precisely measured. Nonlinear dynamic analysis might provide us with more information about consciousness and cognition during general anesthesia.

Abstract: Objective To analyze the influencing factors of mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus after combined immunological blockade, and to evaluate the effect of mother-to-child blockade, and to provide a basis for health policies and health interventions for preventing mother-to-child blockade of hepatitis B virus. Methods A total of 11 363 pairs of HBsAg positive pregnant women and their infants aged 7-12 months in Hainan Province from 2015 to 2020 were included in the study. The general situation, the situation of health care and delivery in this pregnancy and perinatal period, the detection of hepatitis B markers, the situation of antiviral therapy, the general situation of mother and infant during delivery and the implementation of blockade measures for mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B were collected and analyzed. Results Among the 11 363 pairs of HBsAg positive pregnant women and their infants delivered in hospitals in Hainan province from 2015 to 2020, the positive rate of HBsAg in children at 7-12 months after birth was 1.47 %, and the difference in HBsAg positive rate of infants born in different years was not statistically significant (P>0.05). There were no significant differences in the positive rate of HBsAg among children born to pregnant women with different nationalities, educational levels, occupations, delivery modes, delivery places, obstetric operations and perineal laceration, abnormal perinatal period, children with different genders and premature delivery and perinatal (all P<0.05). There was significant difference in HBsAg positive rate among infants born to pregnant women of different ages, the positive rate of HBsAg of infants born to young pregnant women was higher than that of older pregnant women (P<0.05). The rate of antiviral therapy was low in HBeAg positive pregnant women, and the positive rate of HBsAg in their infants was 2.54%, which was higher than 0.83% in HBeAg negative pregnant women (P<0.05). Conclusions Combined immunological blockade with hepatitis B vaccine and hepatitis B immunoglobulin can effectively prevent the mother-to-child transmission of HBV. HBsAg-positive women can give birth at the right age, and HBeAg-positive pregnant women can be treated with antiviral therapy to block mother-to-child transmission, providing the important basis for the formulation of hepatitis B prevention and control strategies and measures.

Objective: To investigate the effects of oxLDL and HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor simvastatin on PKC activity, and level of cytosol ic free Ca 2+ in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Methods: Th e activity of PKC was determined by its ability to transfer phosphate from 32P-ATP to lysine-rich histone and level of cytosolic free calcium[Ca2+ ]i was measured by flow cytometric analysis loading with the Ca2+ dye F luo-3/Am. Results: oxLDL increased PKC total activity in a dose-de pendent manner and peaked after 12 min, then decreased slowly and maintained for at least 30 min, while oxLDL induced biphasic [Ca2+]i responses includ ing the rapid initial transient phase and the sustained phase. Removal of extrac ellular Ca2+ did not inhibit the rapid transient phase, but abolished the sustained phase. When simvastatin was added, the activity of PKC wasmarkedly dec reased with no impairment to the initial peak response, but significantly reduce d the sustained phase. Conclusion: oxLDL can induced dynamic changes of signal transduction of PKC and level of cytosolic free Ca2+ in HUVEC, these 2 events are closely linked. The change of rapid initial transient phase i s the result of mobilization of Ca2+ from intracellular pool and the chang e of sustained phase is from the influx of extracellular Ca2+. The inhibit ion of PKC activity induced by simvastatin may contribute to the changes of [Ca 2+]i.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2007;27(10):934-936
OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of Biannaitong Medicinal Tea (BNT) combined with Azasetron in preventing and treating the gastrointestinal reaction induced by chemotherapy.
METHODSSixty-four patients underwent chemotherapy with DP regimen (docetaxol + DDP) were randomly assigned to two groups, the treated group and the control group. All patients were given 10 mg Azasetron intravenously 30 min before starting chemotherapy once a day for two successive days, but to patients in the treated group, 300 mL BNT was given orally additionally in the evenings before chemotherapy. The occurrence of adverse reactions, such as antiemetic efficacy constipation, abdominal distention, etc. was observed.
RESULTSThe vomiting control rates in the two groups were insignificantly different (87.5% vs 84.4%, P > 0.05), but difference in the complete control rates between them were significant (53.1% vs 43.8% , P < 0.05). And the occurrences of constipation (3.1% vs 59.4%) and abdominal distention (15.6% vs 59.4%) in the two groups were also significantly different (both P <0.05).
CONCLUSIONBNT used in coordination with Azasetron for alleviating vomiting could enhance the antiemetic effect, reduce the adverse effects of chemotherapy, such as constipation, abdominal distension and anorexia, and thus to increase the compliance of patients.

OBJECTIVETo identify the expression characteristics of the 1700001022RIK (RIKEN cDNA 1700001022) gene in mice and explore its function by bioinformatic analysis.
METHODSUsing the expression profile of gene microarray, we detected the expression of a new testis-specific gene, 1700001022RIK, in mice. We analyzed its expression characteristics in the testis tissue and their changes in different developmental stages of the testis by RT-PCR, real-time RT-PCR, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry. We performed bioinformatic analysis using a bioinformatic software.
RESULTSThe 1700001022RIK gene was specifically expressed in the mouse testis in an age-dependent manner, most highly in the adult mice. The 1700001022RIK protein was mainly expressed in the spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and round spermatids of the adult mice. Bioinformatic analysis showed that the 1700001022RIK protein amino acid sequence had a high similarity in human and mice, which indicated that this gene was highly conserved in mammals.
CONCLUSION1700001022RIK is a testis-specific gene mainly expressed in the spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and round spermatids of seminiferous tubules, which might be involved in the regulation of spermatogenesis.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2006;26(7):954-958
Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) are crucial for studying the mechanism and regulation of vasogenic response, but so far no ideal method has been reported for their isolation. We established a VMSC isolation method based on two-step digestion, with which a large population of single smooth muscle cells could be obtained. After cell isolation, the potassium current, cytosolic calcium concentration, reactivity to caffeine were measured, and the results demonstrated that the cells were highly viable and exhibited reactivity to the vascular constrictor to meet various needs in experimental research.
