Objective To investigate the cortex gray matter configuration in amnestic mild cognitive impairment(aMCI)patients using MRI technology, FMRIB software library(FSL)and Freesurfer software. Methods Twenty aMCI patients and 20 normal control subjects were recruited and studied. They were matched by age, sex and education. All the patients and healthy volunteers underwent MRI scan using SEMENTS trio 3.0 T MRI. The subtile three-dimensional brain images were obtained using high resolution scanning technique. The imaging data was processed and analyzed with FSL and Freesurfer software. The cortex gray matter density and thickness in different brain areas of aMCI patients and normal control subjects were calculated and compared using statistic analysis. Results Compared to that in the controls, cortex gray matter density in the aMCI patients showed remarkable decreases in left frontal lobe, temporal lobe, parietal lobe, and slight decrease in right thalamus, temporal lobe and island lobe; For cortex thickness,aMCI patients showed significant decreases in left anterior cingulate gyrus((2. 19 ±0. 24)mm), inferior parietal lobe((2. 27 ± 0. 15)mm), bilateral parahippocampal gyrus((2. 03 ± 0. 15),(2. 04 ±0. 17)mm), precentral gyrus((2. 20 ± 0. 11),(2. 31 ± 0. 19)mm), postcentral gyrus((1.88 ± 0. 11),(1.82 ± 0. 09)mm), superior frontal gyrus((2. 42 ± 0. 34),(2. 40 ± 0. 28)mm), middle frontal gyrus ((2.31±0.31),(2.33 ±0.29)mm), supramarginal gyrus((2.53 ±0.33),(2.55 ±0.23)mm),temporal pole((3.41 ±0.68),(3.30 ±0.56)mm)and transverse temporal gyrus((2.04 ±0. 12),(2. 01 ± 0. 11)mm; t = 2. 13-3.75, P < 0. 05), no significant changes in the other areas(t = 0. 09-1.88, P > 0. 05). Conclusions Our results suggest that there are significant changes in gray matter configuration in cortex of aMCl patients. The changes of cortical thickness is earlier than the changes of gray matter density.

AIM: To study the effect of torsional mode phacoemulsification on cornea in patient with age-related cataract.METHODS: Totally 161 age-related cataract patients (196 eyes) were assigned randomly to phacoemulsification by torsional mode(Group A) or conventional ultrasound mode (Group B) in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2014.The intraoperative data of effective ultrasound time(UST)and effective cumulative dissipated energy(CDE) were recorded.Postoperative outcomes and the change of the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),corneal edema degree(CED),central corneal thickness(CCT) and endothelial cell count were also recorded and compared.RESULTS: For grade Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ nuclear density, the mean UST and mean CDE were significantly lower in Group A.The average BCVA of Group A was better than Group B at 1 and 7d after surgery. But at 30d postoperative, there was no statistical difference between these two groups(P>0.05).The corneal clarity and the mean change of central thickness showed significantly less corneal edema in Group A than Group B in 1 and 7d postoperatively. This difference was no longer found significantly at 30d after surgery(P>0.05).At 7 and 30d postoperative, the endothelial cells in Group B were lower than in Group A.CONCLUSION: By reducing the effective UST and CDE intraoperatively, the main effect of torsional mode phacoemulsification on cornea shows less damage to endothelium cells, and patients get better prognosis. But the damage to cornea by torsional mode phacoemulsification isn`t fundamentally solved.

More than ten bacteriophage of E.coli were isolated from the soil and the dung of the fowl-run, then three of named bacteriophage A, C, D which lysis E.coli virulently were selected to investigate biological characterizations. The results showed that high activities were obtained after the phages incubated at 50℃ for 1 h or 60℃ for 30 min. The phages could be alive at the range of pH from 4 to 12, Ca 2+ or Mg 2+ added to the medium could stimulate the lysis of phages. However, the formation of the plaque could be inhibited obviously by adding sodium citrate to the medium.

The value of the left atrial volume tracking (LAVT) method in the evaluation of left atrial (LA) function in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) was examined in this study. Fifty-eight DM patients as DM group and 40 healthy people as normal control group were enrolled in this study. EUB-6500 echocardiographic imaging system with LAVT was applied to display and analyze the LA volume curve imaging on LV apical two and four chamber views. The maximal LA volume at end-systole (LAV(max)), LA volume at the onset of ECG-P wave (LAV(p)), the minimal LA volume at end-diastole (LAV(min)) from the LA volume curve were acquired and recorded. All values above were standardized by body surface area (BSA). Then the passive, active and total LA volume (LAVIpass, LAVIact, LAVItotal) and empting rate (%LAVIpass, %LAVIact, %LAVItotal), effective passive and active empting rate (%eLAVIpass, %eLAVIact), and the proportionality of passive empting volume and active empting volume were calculated. The LAVIp, LAVIact, LAVItotal, %LAVIact, %LAVItotal and %eLAVIact were significantly higher in the DM group than those in the control group, whereas the LAVIpass, %LAVIpass, %eLAVIpass and LAVIpass/act were lower (all P<0.05). For the LA volume change in DM, the active empting volume was enhanced at end-diastole. It was concluded that LAVT is a potentially useful tool to evaluate the function of LA.

OBJECTIVEObserve and analyze the informations of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), in order to provide reference for clinical treatment.
METHODSelect patients with CHD in diagnosis of the first place in 17 hospitals, drug informations of these patients were analyzed using frequency method and association rules.
RESULTIn 84 697 patients, there were 47 564 males and 32 882 females. The median age was 71 years old, 76 172 patients have medicine records, including 278 kinds of western medicine and 331 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine. Aspirin was the most common used western medicine (51 132 patients, 67.08%), followed by isosorbide dinitrate, clopidogrel etc. The most common used traditional Chinese medicine was danhong injection, followed by shuxuetong injection. After classified the drugs, at the forefront of western medicine were antiplatelet drugs, nitrates drugs, statins, beta blockers, calcium antagonists, ACEI; the most used in traditional Chinese medicine was injection of blood-activating and stasis-resolving, followed by oral preparations of blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicine, Fuzheng class oral medicine, purgation medicine etc. After association rules, combination therapy among western medicine was the most common, combination of western medicine with blood-activating and stasis-resolving was very commonly, especially antiplatelet drugs and nitrates drugs.
CONCLUSIONWestern medicine in the treatment of patients with CHD was in accordance with the guidelines recommend, but with the lower utilization rate. Traditional Chinese medicine has become an important method for the treatment of CHD, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine treatment in patients with CHD.

Objective To analyze the effect of long-term anti-viral treatment in children with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and investigate the factors affecting the treatment efficacy and growth and development of the children, so as to provide reference for improving the efficacy of antiviral drugs. Methods Children with AIDS receiving anti-retroviral treatment during 2004 to 2016 were retrospectively enrolled. The height, weight and CD4+ T cell counts were recorded every half year and the measurement of HIV RNA load was recorded on an annual basis. The CD4+ T cell counts and viral inhibition rates for the children who were under the treatment in the first year, 1~<5 years, 5~<10 years, and ≥10 years were compared. And their growth and development were also assessed.Treatment efficacy and growth and development of the children were compared between those who raised by social organization and by family.Children who raised by family were further divided into two groups: high-income and low-income groups. All categorical data were analyzed using chi-square test and those non-normal distribution were compared by rank-sumtest.Results After comparison between the children who have received anti-virus treatment for 1 to 5 years (including 5 year) and those for 5 to 10 year (including 10 years), the baseline CD4+ T cell counts were 436.5(265, 728)cells/μL and 334 (102, 535)cells/μL, respectively with the statistically significant difference (Z=-2.619, P<0.01).The last measured CD4+ T cell counts were 779 (622, 1 024)cells/μL and 720 (640, 977)cells/μL, respectively with no statistical significance (Z=-0.708, P>0.05);and viral inhibition rates were 92.9% and 97.6%, respectively with no statistical significance (χ2=1.071, P>0.05).The viral inhibition rate for the children receiving the treatment for 1 year was 85.7%, while that for whose treatment lasted for more than 10 years was 100.0%.A total of 5 cases developed drug-resistance (2 cases treated for 1 to 5 years and 3 cases for 5 to 10 years), and the virus replication was completely inhibited after switching to Lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/r).The drug compliance was more than 95.0%.64.8% of children met the standard height, while 68.5% met the standard body mass. The baseline and last measured CD4+ T cell counts showed no significant differences between family-raised and social organization-raised children (Z=-1.159 and -0.523, respectively, both P>0.05).The children from high-income families had no significant differences compared with those from low-income ones in terms of the baseline and last measured CD4+ T cell counts (Z=-0.019 and -0.776, respectively, both P>0.05).Conclusions The long-term anti-retroviral treatment can effectively elevate the CD4+ T cell counts, inhibit viral replication and ensure drug compliance, which may promote the growth and development of children. However, approximately 30% children are still lower than the normal standards in terms of height and body mass. The drug-taking observer plays a central role on treatment effect. Most of the children′s family suffer from poor economic conditions.
