Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a refractory, chronic non-articular rheumatic disease characterized by widespread pain throughout the body, for which there are no satisfactory therapeutic drugs or options. There are rich Chinese medical therapies, and some non-drug therapies, such as acupuncture, Tai Chi, and Ba-Duan-Jin, have shown satisfactory efficacy and safety and definite advantages of simultaneously adjusting mind and body. FMS is taken as a disease responding specifically to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2018. In order to clarify the research progress in FMS and the clinical advantages of TCM/integrated Chinese and Western medicine, the China Academy of Chinese Medicine organized a seminar for nearly 20 experts in Chinese and Western medicine, including rheumatology, psychology, acupuncture and moxibustion, and encephalopathy, with the topic of difficulties in clinical diagnosis and treatment of FMS and advantages of TCM and Western medicine. The recommendations were reached on the difficulties in early diagnosis and solutions of FMS, mitigation of common non-specific symptoms, preferential analgesic therapy, TCM pathogenesis and treatment advantages, and direction of treatment with integrated Chinese and Western medicine. FMS is currently facing the triple dilemma of low early correct diagnosis, poor patient participation, and unsatisfactory benefit from pure Western medicine treatment. To solve the above problems, this paper suggests that rheumatologists should serve as the main diagnostic force of this disease, and they should improve patient participation in treatment decision-making, implement exercise therapy, and fully utilize the holistic and multidimensional features of TCM, which is effective in alleviating pain, improving mood, and decreasing adverse events. In addition, it is suggested that FMS treatment should rely on both TCM and Western medicine and adopt multidisciplinary joint treatment, which is expected to improve the standard of diagnosis and treatment of FMS in China.

Objective To investigate whether levosimendan can inhibit the apoptosis of C2C12 cells induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)through the PTEN/Akt pathway. Methods C2C12 cells were randomly divided into four groups:blank control group, control group comprising cells treated with levosimendan only,LPS-treated group, and a group comprising cells pretreated with levosimendan for 24 h a subsequently treated with LPS for 48 h.The survival rate of C2C12 cells was determined via the CCK-8 method, and cell apoptosis was assessed via Hoechst 33342 staining. The mRNA and protein expression levels of PTEN/Akt pathway components were evaluated via RT-qPCR and Western blotting,respectively.C2C12 cells were also transfected with siRNA to knockdown the PTEN gene, and the effect on the protein expression of apoptotic pathway components was determined. Results Levosimendan increased the survival rate and decreased the apoptosis rate of C2C12 cells after LPS treatment.PTEN gene expression was inhibited by siRNA and the mRNA and protein levels of PTEN/Akt signaling pathway components changed correspondingly.Furthermore, the apoptosis rate of C2C12 cells decreased. Conclusion Levosimendan can inhibit LPS-induced C2C12 cell apoptosis via the PTEN/Akt pathway.
4.α-amylase detection methods and applications.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2023;39(3):898-911
α-amylase is an endonucleoside hydrolase that hydrolyzes the α-1, 4-glycosidic bonds inside polysaccharides, such as starch, to generate oligosaccharides, dextrins, maltotriose, maltose and a small amount of glucose. Due to the importance of α-amylase in food industry, human health monitoring and pharmaceuticals, detection of its activity is widely required in the breeding of α-amylase producing strains, in vitro diagnosis, development of diabetes drugs, and the control of food quality. In recent years, many new α-amylase detection methods have been developed with improved speed and sensitivity. This review summarized recent processes in the development and applications of new α-amylase detection methods. The major principle of these detection methods were introduced, and their advantages and disadvantages were compared to facilitate future development and applications of α-amylase detection methods.

Objective To explore the factors that affect the accuracy of percutaneous thermal ablation of lung metastases and coping strategies. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 31 patients who met the conditions for thermal ablation of lung metastases in Ninth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine between October 2019 and December 2020. There were 19 males and 12 females with a mean age of 40-81 (62.8±10.3) years. A total of 33 metastases tumors were thermally ablated, 12 were radiofrequency ablation and 19 were microwave ablation. Results Of the 33 metastatic tumors, 5 targets showed significant puncture deviation, 4 of them completed the ablation after adjustment and 1 failed. The result of the univariate logistic regression showed the distance within the lung parenchyma (P=0.043) and the maximum diameter of the tumor (P=0.025) were independent risk factors for the accuracy of percutaneous thermal ablation. In terms of correlation, there was a positive correlation between the accuracy of percutaneous thermal ablation and the distance within the lung parenchyma (P=0.033), and a negative correlation between the maximum diameter of metastases tumor (P=0.004) and hemoptysis (P=0.015). Complete ablation rate was 87.8% (29/33). Conclusion When we perform CT-guided percutaneous thermal ablation of lung metastases, we must fully prepare the deviation plan for the small diameter tumor, the long travel distance in the lung parenchyma, and hemoptysis during puncture. Complete ablation can be achieved by fully identifying the anatomical features of the tumor and its surrounding structures, shortening the travel distance in the lung parenchyma and increasing the ablation range.

Objective To Analyze the etiology and antibiotic susceptibility in exacerbated bronchiectasis, and guide rational drug use in clinic. Methods Pathogenic microorganism culture and drug sensitivity of sputum samples of 496 cases were collected from 2015 to 2016 in Shengjing Affiliated Hospital, China Medical University. The Excel software was used to analyze the screening data and the SPSS 22.0 was used for statistical analysis to obtain the drug resistance of the bacteria to the commonly used antibiotics. Results In 469 patients, there were 551 pieces of sputum , with 198 strains positive bacterium. Positive rate was 35.93%(198/551), and bacterium was 171 strains (86.36%). Bacteria of top three positive rate was 86 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (50.29%), 54 strains of Acinetobacter baumannii (31.58%) and 10 strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae (5.85%). The resistance rate of Acinetobacter baumannii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa was higher, and other pathogens also showed various degrees of tolerance to antibiotic. Conclusions The pathogens in patients with acute exacerbation of bronchiectasis are Gram-negative bacteria. Considering the characters of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, it is not suggested to use cephalosporin of the third and fourth generation in treating Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Clinical selection of antibiotics should combine with the disease characteristics of patients in our hospital.
