1.Influence of Brain-activating Acupuncture on Cerebral Histomorphology in Rats with Focal Cerebral Ischemia and Reperfusion

Objective:To investigate the pathological changes following the focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion in rats and the effect of acupuncture on them. Methods: A model of ischemia and reperfusion was established by thread occlusion, and the brain-activating acupuncture was applied, and then the morphological changes of the cerebral cortex on the ischemic side were observed under electron and light microscopes. Results:Cerebral ischemia and reperfusion could lead to the structural injury of neurons, gliacytes and capillary vessels in rat's brain, and acupuncture could improve the ultra-structural injury in the area around the cerebral ischemia. It was also found that acupuncture intervention at 3 hours following reperfusion was more ideal than that at any other time points. Conclusion: Acupuncture has a protective effect on the ultra-structural injury of neurons associated with focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion in rats, and acupuncture given within 3 hours following reperfusion can produce a satisfactory effect.
2.Ultrasonographic diagnosis of mesenteric vascular diseases

Objective To investigate the diagnosis of mesenteric vascular diseases by two-dimensional ultrasonography and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) and to summarize ultrasonographic imaging features.Methods Eighteen patients were examined by ultrasonography in emergency.The thickness,scope and echo of the wall of the small intestine,the condition of intestinal peristalsis,the blood flow of the wall of the bowel and the mesentery were measured by ultrasonography.Results The diagnosis of all the cases was confirmed by operation.The accuracy rate of ultrasonographic examination was 83.3% (15/18).Two patients were pseudo-positive( 11.1% ) and one patient was pseudo-negative( 5.6% ).Conclusions The ultrasonographic examination with directimaging features can determine the diagnosis of the disease and assess the classification and scope of mesenteric vascular diseases,hence is the first choice and an indispensable method.
3.Effect of miRNA-5193 on the sensitivity of cervical cancer Caski cells to cisplatin

Objective:To investigate the effect and mechanism of miRNA-5193 (miR-5193) on the sensitivity of cervical cancer Caski cells to cisplatin.Methods:The expression of miR-5193 in cervical cancer cell lines C33A, SiHa, Caski and normal cervical cell line Ect1/E6E7 were determined by real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Caski cells were divided into control group (no transfection, normally cultured), miR-5193-negative control (miR-NC) group (transfected with miR-NC mimic), miR-5193 group (transfected with miR-5193 mimic), miR-NC+cisplatin group (transfected with miR-NC mimic and treated with 10 μg/ml cisplatin), miR-5193+cisplatin group (transfected with miR-5193 mimic and treated with 10 μg/ml cisplatin), miR-5193+cisplatin+NC group (cotransfected with Foxp3-negative control vector and miR-5193 mimic, and treated with 10 μg/ml cisplatin), and miR-5193+cisplatin+Foxp3 group (cotransfected with Foxp3 overexpression vector and miR-5193 mimic, and treated with 10 μg/ml cisplatin). Proliferation was detected by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT), cell cycle was detected by PI single staining method, cell apoptosis was detected by Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining method, and expressions of CDK2, p27 and C-caspase-3 proteins in cells were detected by Western blot. Bioinformatics software was used to predict miR-5193 target genes, and the luciferase reporting system was used to identify the targeting relationship.Results:The relative expression of miR-5193 in cervical cancer C33A, SiHa and Caski cells was lower than that in normal cervical Ect1/E6E7 cells (0.56±0.06, 0.41±0.03, 0.23±0.02 vs. 1.00±0.10, all P < 0.05). Compared with the control group and miR-NC group, the cell proliferation activity (absorbance value) in miR-5193, miR-NC+cisplatin and miR-5193+cisplatin groups decreased (0.58±0.06, 0.59±0.07 vs. 0.38±0.04, 0.40±0.05, 0.23±0.02, all P < 0.05), the cell apoptosis rate increased [(2.5±0.2)%, (2.7±0.3)% vs. (12.6±1.2)%, (11.9±1.5)% , (18.9±1.7)%, all P < 0.05], and the proportion of cells in G 0/G 1 phase increased [(50.4±4.2)%, (51.3±6.3)% vs. (62.3±3.2)%, (61.9±5.8)%, (71.4±5.4)%, all P < 0.05]. The expression levels of p27 and C-caspase-3 proteins increased, and the expression level of CDK2 protein decreased. The software predicted that the target gene of miR-5193 was Foxp3, which was confirmed by the luciferase reporting system. Compared with the miR-5193+cisplatin+NC group, the cell proliferation activity (absorbance value) in miR-5193+ cisplatin+Foxp3 group increased (0.24±0.03 vs. 0.65±0.05, t = 21.094, P < 0.01), the proportion of cells in G 0/G 1 phase decreased [(71.0±6.4)% vs. (60.3±4.1)%, t = 4.196, P < 0.01], the apoptosis rate of cells decreased [(19.6±1.6)% vs. (11.5±1.2)%, t = 11.880, P < 0.01], the expression levels of p27 and C-caspase-3 proteins in cells decreased, and the expression levels of CDK2 and Foxp3 proteins increased. Conclusion:The miR-5193 may increase the sensitivity of cervical cancer Caski cells to cisplatin in vitro by targeted inhibition of the Foxp3 gene.
4.The application of endoscopic ultrasonography in the diagnosis of unexplained bile duct expansion before endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) for unexplained bile duct expansion in patients before retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Methods Sixty patients with unknown causes of bile duct dilatation were included in this study. Patients were examined by abdominal ultrasound (TUS), CT and (or) magnetic resonance imaging (MRCP) suggesting the dilatation of common bile duct, suspecting biliary pancreatic disease with unknown cause. EUS diagnosis was performed before ERCP surgery. The final diagnosis was confirmed by ERCP, pathology and follow-up diagnosis. Results Thirty-nine patients were diagnosed as distal bile duct stone by ERCP, 38 were diagnosed by EUS, and one case was diagnosed as common bile duct bottom tumors by EUS. There were 10 cases were diagnosed as common bile duct bottom tumors by ERCP and surgical pathology, 2 cases were diagnosed as biliary papillomatosis, 2 cases were diagnosed as periampullary carcinoma. There were 11, 0 and 3 cases were diagnosed by EUS. One case was diagnosed as distal bile duct stone, which was diagnosed as common bile duct bottom tumor by EUS. Two cases were diagnosed as papillary tumor of the bile duct, one of which was diagnosed as inflammatory stenosis, another one was diagnosed as periampullary carcinoma by EUS. Results of postoperative follow-up confirmed that 7 cases were duodenal papilla inflammatory stenosis. Eight cases were diagnosed by EUS, one of them was followed up and pathologically diagnosed as biliary papillomatosis by ERCP. The diagnostic accuray was 95%(57/60). Conclusion EUS has higher value in the diagnosis of unexplained bile duct expansion, which especially can improve the diagnostic rate of distal bile duct stone compared with that of MRCP detection, and can guide selectively ERCP, improve the therapeutic effect, and reduce its risk .
5.Modulation of the Th1/Th2 bias in the anaphylaxis mice model

Objective:To detect the modulation of the Th1/Th2 bias by the EtOH ext. of roasted perilla seed(RPS) in the anaphylaxis mice model.Methods:The mice were divided randomly into 5 groups, namely 1.28, 0.64 and 0.32 g/kg EtOH ext.of RPS group, anaphylaxis model and normal control. All the mice except for the normal control were sensitized by immunized intraperitoneally on days 0 and 5 with chicken OVA. The cytokine profile including IFN-?, TNF-?, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5 in serum of all the mice were evaluated by FCM.Results:The IFN-?/IL-4 ratio was decreased from 3.93 in the anaphylaxis mice model to 0.87 in the normal control group. The mice in 0.32, 0.64 and 1.28 g/kg EtOH ext of RPS group displayed a down-regulation for serum IL-4 and TNF-? levels and showed increased levels of IFN-? with the correspondent IFN-?/IL-4 ratio of 1.92, 2.85 and 3.14.Conclusion:The EtOH ext. of roasted perilla seed can modulate the Th1/Th2 bias in a dose-dependent manner.
6.Value of endoscopic ultrasonography for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant bile duct dis- tal stenosis

Objective To study the diagnostic value of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)for biliary stenosis.Methods Data of 83 patients with bile duct stenosis who underwent EUS from January 2010 to June 2012 at endoscopic center of Tianjin Nankai Hospital were reviewed.The EUS qualitative diagnosis and final diagnosis,and the accuracy of EUS for the lower malignant bile duct stenosis were analyzed.Results Malig-nant stenosis were confirmed histopathologically in 55 patients;benign stenosis were confirmed in 28 patients based on negative tissue sampling or extended clinical follow-up.Sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive val-ue,negative predictive value and accuracy of EUS for malignant bile duct stenosis were 98.2%(55 /56), 81.5%(22 /27),91.7%(55 /60),95.6%(22 /23)and 92.8%(77 /83),respectively.Conclusion The sensitivity and accuracy of EUS for the lower malignant bile duct stenosis is high,which is of clinical value.
7.Clinical analysis of fungus infection in acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Objective To explore the risk factors and targeted therapy for fungus infection in acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) pulmonary.Methods 83 acute exacerbations of COPD patients with pulmonary fungus infection were selected as the observation object(COPD fungal infection group),according to the time sequence of random month by month in acute exacerbations of COPD no secondary fungal infection of the 80 patients hospitalized patients as control group,analysis of risk factors lead to fungal infection.Results Two groups in age,live ICU time,antibiotic use time,hormone use time,albumin level mechanical ventilation people with diabetes mellitus,merger,as cor pulmonale had statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) ; The conditional Logistic multiariate analysis,age,ICU patients live time,antibiotics use time,hormone use time,albumin level was acute exacerbations of COPD factors such as pulmonary fungus infection independent risk factors(P <0.01) ;Fungus infection were combined with antimycotic,cured 69 cases (83.13%) improved 12 cases (14.46%),there was no change in 1 case(1.20%),death 1 case (1.20%).Conclusion Patients older age,live long,long time ICU antibiotics and hormones and the low level of albumin is acute exacerbations of COPD pulmonary fungus infection independent risk factors,timely diagnosis and prognosis of patients with antifungal treatment is good.
8.Clinical analysis of measures for preventing early postburn damage in improving survival rate of burn patients

Objective To study the effects of measures for preventing early postburn damage in improving survival rate of burn patients during the third stage. Methods 12 568 burn cases admitted to our institute were chronically divided into three groups (1958-1980;1981-1990;1991-2000). Total burn surface area (TBSA), survival rate, incidence of burn shock, systemic infection and organ damage as well as the main treatments adopted in the recent decade were retrospectively analyzed. Results Incidence of burn shock, systemic infection and organ damage were significantly lower, and the total survival rate and the survival rate in patients with different TBSA were markedly higher in the third group as compared with those in the first and the second group. Incidence of organ damage in patients treated with delayed fast fluid infusion, early escharectomy en masse, early enteral feeding, early prevention of inhalation injury and gut bacterial translocation were also significantly lower than in the control. Conclusion Measures taken in the third group for preventing early postburn damage play an important role in improving the survival rate of burn patients.
9.Research Progress in Acupuncture in Treating Chemotherapy Induced Nausea and Vomiting

This article summarized clinical studies and mechanism research literature on acupuncture in treating chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting in the latest 20 years. It found that the domestic and foreign researches tend to regard acupuncture as an effective method for the treatment of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting, which still requires further high-level clinical researches to verify. Acupuncture may prevent and treat chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting through multiple mechanisms, and studies on these mechanisms show extensive research prospect.
