Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of a double action MR contrast agent——gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) for focal liver lesion and biliary system disease. Methods Articles about Gd-BOPTA in CNKI and PubMed for the past few years were searched and the value of Gd-BOPTA in the diagnosis of focal liver lesion and biliary system disease was summarized. Results For focal liver lesion,Gd-BOPTA not only can reveal blood supply of the lesion, but also reveal the hepatocellular functional status in the lesion. For biliary system, biliary excretion of Gd-BOPTA can be used to evaluate the anatomic structure of bile duct, function of gallbladder and biliary system disease. Conclusions Gd-BOPTA has an important value in the diagnosis of focal liver lesion and biliary system disease.Gd-BOPTA may have wider applications in the future.

Objective To investigate the myocardial protective effects of“integrated strategy”with HOE-642 plus modified K/Mg on canine heart grafts. Methods Sixteen donors-recipient pairs of adult canines were divided into the“integrated strategy”group,i.e.,donor hearts were protected with HOE-642 plus K/Mg(IS,n=8)and the routine method(RM,n=8)group.Both groups un- derwent hypothermia stored for 4 h,followed by orthotopic transplantation.Cardiac heamodynamics was measured and myocardial ultrastructure and myocardial water content were evaluated. Results One of 8 animal died of aortic anastomoses leakage in each group, and the rest could wean from car- diopulmonary bypass successfully.Preservation of left ventricular contractility,as well as left ventric- ular compliance was significantly better in the IS group than in the RM group(P<0.05),also,per- centage of myocardial water content was significantly lower in the IS group than in the RM group(P<0.05).Myocardial ultrastructures were not damaged significantly in both groups, however, better myocardial preservation were seen in the IS group. Conclusion Both the clinically used“routine meth- od”and“integrated strategy”might provide safe donor heart preservation for 4 h,but the later scheme conferred more optimal effects with alleviating the myocardial swelling, preserving myocardial ultra- structure integrity and enhancing postischemic-reperfusion cardiac functional recovery.

Objective To explore the application value of monoexponential, biexponential models multiple b values diffusion weighted imaging(DWI) in distinguishing pancreatic cancer from non-tumorous pancreas. Methods Subjects comprised 37 pancreatic cancers confirmed by clinical or surgery.Pancreas multiple b values DWI was performed using 3.0T scanner.Standard apparent diffusion coefficient (ADCstandard) was calculated using monoexponential diffusion model.Pure diffusion coefficient (ADCslow), pseudodiffusion coefficient (ADCfast) and perfusion fraction (f) were calculated using intravoxel incoherent motion(IVIM) diffusion model.Parameters of pancreatic cancers and non-tumorous pancreas were compared using independent samples t test. Results Mean ADCslow value of pancreatic cancer was higher than that of non-tumorous pancreas (0.611×10-3 mm2/s vs 0.521×10-3 mm2/s,P=0.037).Mean ADCfast and f values of pancreatic cancer were lower than that of non-tumorous pancreas (5.066×10-3 mm2/s vs 7.188×10-3 mm2/s,P=0.035;55.8% vs 64.0%,P=0.016;respectively).ADCslow of pancreatic cancer was positively correlated to ADCstandard (r=0.824,P=0.000).ADCfast of pancreatic cancer was negatively correlated to f(r=-0.558,P=0.000).Conclusion ADCslow, ADCfast and f derived from IVIM-DWI model can distinguish pancreatic cancer from non-tumorous pancreas.IVIM-DWI may be a promising and non-invasive tool for early diagnosing and differentiating pancreatic carcinoma from non-tumorous pancreas.

OBJECTIVETo observe changes of thromboxane B2 (TXB2), 6-keto-prostaglandin F1 alpha(6-Keto-PGF1 alpha) and TXB2/6-Keto-PGF1 alpha (T/P) in lungs of rats drowned in hypothermic sea water and to assess their influence on the blood-gas.
METHODSRats of different groups were drowned nearly to death in hypothermic sea water and then taken out of the water rapidly, observed at room temperature, after that the following steps were taken in 5, 15, 30, 60, 240 min and 360 min groups, that were 1 ml arterial blood taken from left heart for blood-gas analysis including pH, PaO2 and PaCO2, rectal temperature observed; at last, the ratio of left dry lungs with left wet lungs was assessed, TXB2 and 6-Keto-PGF1 alpha in right lungs were examined in all above groups and dead group(14 rats dead, only 4 examined).
RESULTSThe rectal temperature[(20.13 +/- 0.48) degree C], pH(6.68 +/- 0.03), PaO2[(45.00 +/- 6.30) mm Hg)], TXB2[(97.46 +/- 17.46) ng/L] and 6-Keto-PGF1 alpha[(25.59 +/- 8.12) ng/L] dropped to the lowest point in the 5 minutes group(P < 0.01), while PaCO2[(89.18 +/- 5.10) mm Hg] reached the highest point(P < 0.01), all above items from 5 minutes group then showed a recovering tendency, but only the pH in 240 minutes and 360 minutes groups as well as TXB2 in 360 minutes group and dead group reached near the level of normal control groups (P > 0.05); T/P had a rising tendency and reached the highest point in the 360 minutes group.
CONCLUSIONSThe production and secretion of TXB2 and 6-Keto-PGF1 alpha were influenced by hypothermia, hypoxemia and acidosis, the imbalance of T/P could be one of factors influencing the improvement of blood gas index.
