OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of Herba Siegesbeckiae capsule on cerebral blood flow (CBF), cerebral vessel resistance (CVR), blood pressure (BP), electrocardiogram (ECG) and heart rate (HR)in anesthetized dogs. METHODS: The external carotid arteries on one side and the vertebral arteries of dogs were ligated, then the CBF of carotid arteries was measured by electromagnetic flowmeter, and the BP, EGG and HR were measured by polygraph. RESULTS: Herba Siegesbeckiae capusle could significantly increase CBF and decrease CVR; however, it has no effect on BP, ECG and HR. CONCLUSION: Herba Siegesbeckiae capsule can improve cerebral blood circulation through increasing CBF and decreasing CVR.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the protective effects of two fasudil hydroehloride injections (trade name: Yililu vs. Chuanwei) on experimental cerebral ischemia of rats. METHODS: A total of 60 SD rats were randomly divided into sham opertion group, model group, Yililu group, Chuanwei high dose group, and Chuanwei low dose group. Cerebral ischemia model was made in each group for the observation of the effects of fasudil hydroehloride injections on the neuralogical function, cerebral infarction size and the pathomorphology of brain tissues. RESULTS: As compared with model group, two kinds of the fasudil hydroehloride injections at the same dose identically decreased the score of neurological function as well as the cerebral infarction size, and lessened the degree of the pathomorphological change of brain tissues (P0.05). CONCLUSION: The two kinds of fasudil hydroehloride injections showed an equivalent protective effect on the damage of experimental cerebral ischemia.

OBJECTIVE:To study the potential of three kinds of Chinese medicines in combination with Ceftriaxone in inducing endotoxin release from Klebsiella for references of combined use of Chinese medicines and western medicines in the treatment of severe infections.METHODS:The amount of endotoxin released from Klebsiella after being treated in vitro by Ceftriaxone(high,medium and low concentrations)alone or in combination with 3 antibacterial Chinese medicines for 4 hours was compared.RESULTS:The amount of endotoxin released by Klebsiella in low concentration of Ceftriaxone either alone or in combination with Chinese medicines were the maximum but minimum in high concentration Ceftriaxone group.The amount of endotoxin released in low concentration group was larger than in blank group(without antibacterial treatment),and that released amount in Shuanghuanglian plus Ceftriaxone group was less than in Ceftriaxone alone group.CONCLUSION:Low concentration of Ceftriaxone can induce Klebsiella to release endotoxin,while Shuanghuanglian can reduce Ceftriaxone-induced release of endotoxin.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the characteristics and regularity of adverse drug reactions (ADR) induced by fluoroquinolones. METHODS: 308 fluoroquinolones-induced ADR cases in 231 literatures were collected from domestic medical journals recorded in CHKD from Jan.1994 to Jun.2009 and analyzed statistically. RESULTS: There was no marked relation between the ADR induced by fluoroquinolones and the gender or age of the patients. 76.62% of ADR cases were mainly caused via intravenous drop infusion. 33.44% of ADR occurred within 2～5 days after medication, leading the first place in term of ADR incidence was levofloxacin (19.81%). ADR mainly appeared as injury of central nervous system (30.43%), followed by lesion of skin and appendants (20.58%). 6 severe ADR induced shock and death. CONCLUSION: Great importance should be attached to monitoring of ADR induced by fluoroquinolones and rational use of drug to guarantee safety and effectiveness of medication.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the status quo and the prospect of trazodo ne in the treatment of sexual dysfunction.METHODS:Data concerning the clinical applications of trazodone in the treatment of sexual dysfunction from the Chinese biomedicine bibliographic database,the database of Qinghua tongfang and the Huipu database during the period of1997～2004were referred to on the internet and which were analyzed statistically.RESULTS:There were17of which were research papers on erectile dysfunction and prospermia and7of which were review articles,the total cases for treatment were910,the average effective rates were71%.CONCLUSION:It deserves attention for the medicine circle to give a further study and research on the effects of trazodone in the treatment of male sexual dysfunction,especially the prospermia.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the suitable clinical service mode for pharmacists in China.METHODS:A questionnaire was designed and a random sample of 170 people were selected from 2 hospitalized patients,doctors,nurses and pharmacists,the results were analyzed using statistical method.RESULTS:There was a general lack of knowledge about clinical pharmaceutical service,higher demands on participation of pharmacists in clinical work were made,and present situation was less than satisfied.CONCLUSION:Clinical service mode of patients first and rational drug use foremost should be established,Chinese pharmacists should improve their knowledge construction and clinical service capability.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the content of Sildenafil citrate illegally added in kidney-yang reinforcing Chinese medicinal tonics. METHODS: The samples were separated on ODS C18(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) with mobile phase consisted of methanol-water-acetic acid glacial-triethylamine(60∶40∶0.8∶0.3) at a flow rate of 0.8 mL?min-1.The UV detective wavelength was 290 nm and the sample size was 10 ?L. RESULTS: At a concentration range of 10～100 ?g?mL-1, Sildenafil citrate showed a good linear relation with peak area score. The mean recovery rate was 100.52%(RSD=1.20%). CONCLU-SION:The method can be used to determine Sildenafil Citrate illegally added in kidney-yang tonics.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard of Mageng phlegm - eliminating oral liquid.METHODS:Herba Ephedrae,Platycodon grandiflorum and Ophiopogon japonicus in Mageng phlegm - eliminating oral liquid were identified qualitatively by TLC,and the content of baicalin was determined by HPLC.RESULTS:Herba Ephedrae,Platycodon grandiflorum and Ophiopogon japonicus had been successfully detected by TLC.The linear range of baicalin was 0.102～1.734?g (r = 0.9996) with an average recovery of 97.19%(RSD = 1.20%,n = 6).CONCLUSION:The established quality standard is applicable for the quality control of Mageng phlegm -eliminating oral liquid.
