1.Expression and significance of HSG/Mfn2 and P21 WAF1 in non-small cell Lung cancer

Objective To investigate the expression of hyperplasia suppressor gene(HSG)/mitofusin 2 (Mfn2)and P21 WAF1 in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The expression of(HSG/Mfn2)and P21 WAF1 was detected in 92 cases of NSCLC samples by immunohistochemistry(SP).Results The absorptance value of the expression of HSG/Mfn2 in squamous cell carcinoma,adenocarcinoma,and non-cancer tissue were 15.06±2.73,12.21±2.96 and 10.36±3.60,respectively(P<0.05),and they were associated with tumor differentiation.The absorptanee valtue of the expression of P21 WAF1 in squamous cell carcinoma,adenocarcinoma,and non-cancer tissue were 3.16±0.98,3.44±0.22,0.06±0.32.The expression of P21 WAF1 in squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma Was higher than that in non-cancer tissue(P<0.05),and was closely associated with tumor differ-entiation and lymph node metastasis.Conclusion HSG/Mfn2,P21WAF1 is closely related to the pathogenesis and development of lung cancer.There is positive correlation between the HSG/Mfn2 and P2l WAF1 in lung cancer.
2.Study on Diagnosis of Solitary Pulmonary Nodule by Enhanced CT

Objective To investigate enhanced CT scanning in differentiation of solitary pulmonary nodule and relationship between the degree and pattern of enhancement and vascularity. Methods 11 patients with surgically confirmed pulmonary carcinoma and 13 patients with inflammatory nodules and 6 patients with tuberculoma were studied with plain chest CT sean and enhanced scanning after injection of 100 ml iodinated contrast medium to observe the enhancement degree and pattern of the lesion before the surgery. Vaseularity of specimens of 11 carcinoma and 13 inflammatory nodules and 6 tuberculoma were examined pathologically and correlated with degree of enhancement. Results The pulmonary carcinoma and inflammatory nodules showed a significantly higher degree of enhancement than tuberculoma. But the carcinoma and the inflammation showed no differences in degree and pattern of enhancement. The degree of enhancement was positively correlated with the number of blood vessles. The vascularity of carcinoma and inflammation was far richer than that of tuberculoma. Conclusion The results suggested that the enhanced CT scanning are distinctively different between carcinoma and tuberculoma,whereas little different between carcinoma and inflammation. Vascularity of the lesion plays an important role in the manifestation of enhancement.
3.Expression of Mitofusin-2 (mfn2) and nm23 in Different Bladder Tissues

Objective To research the expression of mitofusin-2 (mfn2) and tumor metastasis suppressor genes (nm23)in bladder cancer cells and its correlation with clinical pathological feature. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to measure the expression of mfn2 and nm23.Sixty-five cases of bladder cancer were sampled,which include fif-ty cases of male and fifteen cases of female. TNM stage:Forty-seven cases were in stage I;Ten cases were in stage II; Five cases were in stageⅢ; Three cases were in stageⅣ. Other fifteen cases were sampled from normal bladder or benign tumor of bladder as control . All cases were collected from department of pathology,affiliated Hospital of hebei union university. Results The positive expression rate of mfn2 in bladder cancer tissues was significantly higher than those in normal blad-der tissues and benign tumor of bladder(χ2=32.528,P<0.05);The positive expression rate of nm23 in bladder cancer tis-sues was significantly lower than those in normal bladder tissues and benign tumor of bladder (χ2=19.719,P<0.05);the high expression level of mfn2 in bladder cancer was associated with tumor differentiation and TNM stage(P<0.05),but not corre-lated with age,sex,lymph node metastasis and clinical grade. The low level of nm23 was associated with TNM stage,clinical grade and LN metastasis. Conclusion The positive expression rate of mfn2 was increased in bladder cancer. It indicated that there was a close relationship between mfn2 and the occurrence and development of bladder cancer;The expression rate of nm23 was decreased in bladder cancer,it may be a predictor for metastasis and prognosis of bladder cancer.
4.Preliminary report of laparoscopic approach for anterior lumbar inter body fusion

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of laparoscopy in anterio r lumbar interbody fusion. Methods Twenty-three laparoscopic anterior lumbar int erbody fusions were performed in the period between December 2000 and December 2 002. There were 9 males and 14 females with a mean age of 52 years (range, 46 to 66 years). In this group, there were 18 of spondylolisthesis, 3 of lumbar spina l instability and 2 of degenerative disc treated with anterior lumbar interbody fusion using Syncage and autograft with balloon-assisted endoscopic extraperiton eal gasless exposure. The main complaints were low back pain radiating to leg. 1 3 cases were fused at L4,5 and 10 at L5S1. The Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) w as recorded to evaluate the function preoperatively, and in the 2nd week, 3rd, 6 th and 12th month postoperatively. X-ray was taken to observe the fusion and the subsided cage. Results The operative time ranged from 50 to 180 min with a mean of 120 min, and the bleeding volume ranged from 50 to 300 ml with a mean of 80 ml. There were complications in 2 cases, one which was caused by laparoscopic mi sguidance, and the other was bleeding due to a small vessel injury. All the case s were followed-up from 12 to 24 months, with a mean of 16.6 months. Objective To investigate the efficacy of Kurokawa s open door expansive laminoplasty for the treatment of cervical spinal stenotic myelopathy. Methods Sixty seven patients admitted to Zhongshan hospital with cervical spinal stenotic myelopathy undergone Kurokawa s procedure in the last 6 years were included in this study. All of the patients were followed up after operation. The follow up period ranged from 10 months to more than 6 years. The average age at operation was 55.2 years. Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA)score were used to measure the severity of cervical spinal stenotic myelopathy and recovery rates. 6.Study on Diagnosis of Small Lung Cancer by Dynamic Enhanced CT

Objective To investigate the dynamic enhanced CT scanning in differentiation of small lung cancer.Methods 20 patients with pathologically confirmed small lung cancer,and 6 patients with inflammatory nodules,5 patients with tuberculoma were studied with plain chest CT scan and dynamic enhanced (the delay time of scans was 30 s,1,3,5,7 min after injection)before surgery.Then the enhancement degree of the lesions was recorded in different time lag.The time-attenuation curves of different diseases were drawn.Results Tuberculoma showed a significantly lower degree of enhancement than the pulmonary carcinoma and inflammatory nodules,it showed a lower and flat line.The carcinoma and the inflammation showed no differences in degree of enhancement.But the peaks of the tow curves appeared to be different in various time of delay,tumor reached its peak in 1~3 minute after injection of contrast medium which dropped behind the inflammatory.Conclusion The results suggested that from the time-attenuation curve we could make the different diagnosis between small lung lesions.
7.Detection of lung nodules with low-dose spiral CT: comparison with conventional dose CT

0.70). The detection rate of 5 mm nodules declined when large pitch was used. Conclusion The detection rates of 10 mm and 5 mm nodules had no difference between low-dose CT and conventional-dose CT. As the pitch augmented, the detection rate for the nodules declined.
8.The expression and its clinical significance of microRNA-21 and microRNA-19 in differentiated thyroid carcinoma in elderly patients

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of microRNA-19(miR-19)and microRNA-21(miR-21)in elderly patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma(DTC), and to analyze the relationship of miR-19 and miR-21 expression with pathological characteristics in elderly patients with DTC.Methods:A total of ninety-six elderly DTC patients visiting our hospital from January 2015 to January 2018 were included in this retrospective study.They underwent cervical lymph node puncture biopsy and radical surgery for thyroid cancer.The expression levels of miR-21 and miR-19 were detected in lymph node tissues, thyroid cancer tissues and normal para-cancerous tissue.The differences in miR-21 and miR-19 expression levels between three different pathological tissues in elderly patients were analyzed.The correlation of miR-21 and miR-19 expression levels with different clinico-pathological features in elderly patients was observed.Results:The expression levels of miR-21 from low to high were(0.92±0.33)in para-cancerous tissue, (3.41±0.64)in lymph node tissue and(4.28±1.56)in DTC tissue respectively( F=296.683, P<0.01), the difference was statistically significant( F=296.683, P=0.01). While, there was no significant difference in the expression levels of miR-19 among different tissues( P>0.05). Spearman correlation test showed that the expression level miR-21 in DTC tissue was positively correlated with that in lymph node tissue and para-cancerous tissue( r values were 0.724, 0.801, all P<0.01), while the expression level of miR-19 showed no correlation of DTC tissues with lymph node and para-cancerous tissues( r=0.127 and 0.165, P>0.05). The expression level of miR-21 in lymph node tissue was positively correlated with that in para-cancerous tissues( r=0.705, P<0.01), but the expression level of microRNA-19 had no correlation between the two kinds of tissues( r=0.191, P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the expression of miR-21 in cervical lymph nodes among patients with different gender and tumor diameter( P>0.05). The expression level of miR-21 in cervical lymph nodes was significantly higher in stage Ⅲ patients than in stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ patients( P<0.05). The expression level of microRNA-21 in cervical lymph nodes was higher in patients with extra-glandular infiltration than without extra-glandular infiltration( P<0.05). The expression of microRNA-19 in cervical lymph nodes showed no significant difference regardless of sex, tumor diameter, tumor stage, extra-thyroid invasion. Conclusions:MiR-19 may not be involved in the development of DTC in elderly patients, and microRNA-21 may play an important role in the development of DTC in elderly patients, especially in the process of tumor invasion and metastasis.Early cervical lymph node puncture for miR-21 detection helps early diagnose and evaluate DTC, to provide a basis for the choice of treatment options.
9.The correlation between the merger of hyponatremia and malnutrition in the elderly acute cerebral infarction patients in intensive care unit

Objective To analyze relationship between elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction hyponatremia and their nutrition status.Methods One hundred and twenty patients were selected who hospitalized from January 2011 to December 2012.All the patiens' fasting venous blood samples were taken in the next day morning after hospitalied.and then performed the routine blood test,blood biochemical testing items,observed the level of serum sodium (Na),hemoglobin (Hb),total protein (TP),serum albumin (ALB),prealbumin (PA),C-reactive protein (CRP) and lymphatic cell counts (LY) were measured.According to the value of serum sodium,all patients were classified to lower sodium group (serum sodium < 135 mmol/L,36cases),normal group (serum sodium range from 136 to 145 mmol/L,76 cases),and higher sodium group (serum sodium > 145 mmol/L,8 cases).The results were statistically analyzed.Results The incidence of hyponatremia was 30% (36/120).The levels of TP,ALB,PA,Hb and LY in lower sodium group were (50.35 ± 8.61) g/L,(28.35 ± 6.98) g/L,(89.96 ± 12.13) mg/L,(94.13 ± 25.36) g/L and (0.87 ±0.51) × 109 respectively,lower than that of normal group ((65.30 ± 5.48) g/L,(37.50 ± 3.63) g/L,(178.14 ± 18.61) mg/L,(124.87 ± 29.08) g/L,(1.67 ± 0.98) × 109 respectively,t =5.0897,7.1058,4.3216,3.8174,5.4237 respectively,P < 0.01),but the level of CRP ((76.55 ± 49.95) mg/L) in lower sodium group was obviously higher than the normal serum sodium group ((21.33 ±35.04) mg/L,t =0.1287,P < 0.01).The level of the serum sodium in ICU was related to the TP,ALB,PA,Hb and CRP(r =0.3176,0.4369,0.3695,0.2408,0.3612,0.0753 respectively,P <0.05).Conclusion The level of the merger of hyponatremia was correlated with malnutrition in the elderly acute cerebral infarction patients in ICU.We must strengthen the nutrition support treatment while correcting hyponatremia,in order to improve the clinical curative effect.
10.The Value of CT Images in Diagnosing Hypopharyngeal and Laryngeal Tumors and Tumor-like Lesions

Objective To investigate CT value in diagnosing hypopharyngeal and laryngeal disease.Methods The clinical data and CT images of 76 patients with hypopharyngeal and laryngeal tumors and tumor-like lesions were retrospectively reviewed.There were malignant lesions in 66 cases and benign lesions in 10 cases.CT findings in these patients were evaluated and correlated with surgical and pathologic findings.First,we used a CT features were qualitatively analysed using logistic regression model for predicting the lesion to be malignant or benign.Then,two experienced radiologists who were unknown the results of final diagnosis of these patients,retrospectively analyzed all CT images and made their diagnosis.Finally,CT images of 10 benign and 10 randomly selected malignant patients were reviewed by the other two experienced radiologists,who known the component ratio of the cases and unknown the final results.Interobserver agreement of the two reviewers was assessed by calculation of Kappa value for their diagnosis.Results The logistic regression model revealed that the location of lesion and the surrounding structure infiltrated by the tumor were the only significant factors for predicting the malignancy.Of the two factors,the surrounding structure infiltrated by the tumor had the accuracy of 55% with sensitivity 53% and specificity 80%.When most of the cases were malignant(66/76),there was a moderate interobserver agreement for the two radiologists in diagnosis of the diseases.When the malignant and benign cases were equal,there was a poor interobserver agreement(Kappa=0.20) for the two reviewers,and the diagnostic accuracy was slightly higher than the rate by random selection.Conclusion It is difficult to use the CT features in qualifying the hypopharyngeal and laryngeal diseases.
