Lymph node metastasis is one of the main methods of metastasis and it affects the the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. It is reported that the rate of tumor recurrence in patients with tumor-negative lymph nodes detected by routine pathology is approximately 25%, which is a factor that affects the survival. It is reported that the phenomenon associates with lymph nodes micrometastasis closely. The article will tou-ch the latest development on micrometsstasis.

objective To study the inhibition effect and its mechanism of a non - cytotoxic chemotherapy drug in the growth of gastric cancer. Methods The inhibition effect was observed in the growth of xenotransplanted gastric cancer cells MKN45 with a gastrin receptor(GR) antagonist. On the basis of the determination of expressed GR in 34 patients with gastric cancer, we evaluated the preliminary clinical effect of PGL to gastric cancer with the positive GR. Results It is less tumor area, weight and gastric cancer cells DNA Index, average DNA contents and S phase fraction in PGL group than in control group. It is the least in PGL + SST group. GR is easy to be expressed in advanced gastric cancer of the body, cardia and fundus. With the 16-21 months follow- up of 14 patients with positive GR gastric cancer, we find that 2 patients died in control group of 8 patients, and all patients are alive in PGL group. Conclusion PGL can regulate the growth of gastric cancer cells MKN45. It would be able to improve the prognosis of gastric cancer.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between quartz's deposit and expression of NF-κB in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) lung tissues in Xuanwei, Yunnan Province, and to clarify the role of quartz in Xuanwei NSCLC's carcinogenic mechanism. Methods As research objects, the lung tissues of NSCLC and lung benign lesions after surgical resection were collected from July 2009 to September 2015 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. Firstly, the transmission electron microscopic (TEM) with energy dispersive X-ray analyzer (EDS) was used for observation of crystalline deposit and local pathological changes. Secondly, expression level of NF-κB had been analysed and a correlation analysis with particle size of SiO2 crystal in the same lung sample was made. Results The occurrence rates of quartz in Xuanwei NSCLC lung tissues were above non-Xuanwei NSCLC and benign lung tissues (P<0.01);the average particle size of SiO2 crystal was (226 ± 120) nm × (237 ± 163) nm in Xuanwei NSCLC group and it was smaller than the other two groups; In Xuanwei NSCLC group, the expression level of NF-κB was significantly higher than non-Xuanwei and benign lung tissues (P< 0.01), but there was no significant difference between cancer tissues and normal lung tissues in the group (P>0.05). The expression level of NF-κB was generally increasing when quartz 's size became smaller. Conclusion Quartz 's deposit may play a certain role in carcinogenic mechanism of lung cancer in Xuanwei, the smaller the particle size, the greater the cytotoxicity.

Objective To identify microbubbles targeted (MBt) to alpha(v)beta(3) (αvβ3) via biotin-avidin bridge and evaluate the adhesion to human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) in vitro. Methods MBt produced via biotin-avidin bridge were validated using fluorescence in vitro.Adhesion of αvβ3-integrin targeted MBt (MBαvβ3) to HUVECs was tested using the parallel plate flow chamber (PPFC) test. Results Bright green fluorescence was observed on the biotinylated microbubbles(MBB) incubated with fluorescein isothiocyanate labeled streptavidin (FITC-SA) and on MBB-SA incubated with FITC labeled biotin. There was no fluorescence seen on non-targeted control microbubbles,MBB incubated with FITC labeled protein A and MBB-SA incubated with FITC labeled protein A. The adherent rate of MBαvβ3 was significantly higher than MBt with non-specific antibody (MBN) in PPFC test, with 9.9±3.1 of MBαvβ3 and 0.8±0.3 of MBN adhered to HUVECs,respectively(P<0.05).Conclusions Avβ3 targeted microbubbles using biotin-avidin bridging method is highly efficient and reliable for HUVECs.

Objective To study the effect of epinephrine on biofilm formation of the qseC-deleted mutant of Escherichia coli on biomaterial. Methods The strains used in this study are Escherichia coli MC1000 and MC1000AqseC.LB was used for all the experiments. To determine the effect of epinephrine on motility, halos were measured in LB medium at 37℃ in the presence of epinephrine(50 μmol/L).LB with epinephrine and without epinephrine were used, and then the experiment of bacterial biofilm formation on PVC material was taken. The relative amount of biofilm was estimated. The thickness of bacterial community and bacterial community quantity in the unit area on PVC materials were measured by confocal laser scanning microscope( CLSM),and the surface structure of biofilm formation was observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM).Results The mutant strain formed less biofilm than the wild-type strain in LB.The increment in motility of wild-type strain due to epinephrine addition was shown, but mutant strain is unaffected.Similarly, biofilm formation of the wild-type strain was increased by epinephrine, but epinephrine did not affect the biofilm formation of the qseC mutant. The CLSM and SEM showed that epinephrine stimulated biofilm formation of wild-type strain on PVC materials, but had no effect on qseC-deleted mutant strain. Conclusion Epinephrine increases Escherichia coli biofilms on biomaterials through qseC.

Objective To investigate the usefulness of parametric imaging of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS) in imaging hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using dynamic vascular patterns (DVP). Methods Thirty clinically or pathologically proven HCCs that had undergone CEUS were randomly included. SonoLiver CAP sofeware was used to analyze the CEUS images and reconstruct DVP parametric images. Results The rise time, time to peak and mean transit time were (16. 72±11. 07) s, (29. 92±14. 13) s,(115. 03±90. 91)s in HCC versus (26. 59±9. 60) s, (41.67±12. 59) s, (159.26±123. 74) s in the surrounding liver parenchyma (all P <0. 05). The perfusion index was (90. 41±102. 49) % in HCC versus (54. 10±24. 99)% in surrounding liver parenchyma( P = 0.044). DVP curve and DVP parametric image could both be divided into three types:washout,non-washout and cystic type. The percentages of which were 76.7% (23/30), 20.0% (6/30) and 3.3% (1/30) in DVP curves, respectively, and 66.7% (20/30), 30.0% (9/30) and 3.3% (1/30) in DVP parametric images, respectively. Conclusions Parametric image of CEUS could demonstrates the difference of flow perfusion static between HCC and surrounding liver parenchyma dynamically and directly.
