Aim To explore the clinical significance of the vWF in the patients with essential hypertension(EH). Methods vWF were measured with enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay(ELISA) in 103 EH patients and 30 normal controls. The vWF values were compared by age ,gender,and stages of hypertension. Results There were markedly rise in EH patients than that in the normal controls. The vWF was increased with the age and stage of hypertension. The highest vWF was found in male over seventy years. Conclusion vWF may serve as an indicator of injury of endothelium. A positive correlation between endothelium lesion and age was found.

Objective:To establish a method for detecting synthetic pigments in Chinese patent drugs by solid phase extraction-HPLC(SPE-HPLC). Methods:Purified with SPE and concentrated, the sample was separated on a SHISEIDO C18 column with 0. 02 mol·L-1 ammonium acetate and methanol mixed solution as the mobile phase with gradient elution at the flow rate of 1. 0 ml·min-1 , the detection wavelength of 508nm, column temperature of 30℃,and the injection volume of 10μl. Results: The linear range of the synthetic pigments was 0. 005-0. 200 μg(r=0. 999 9), and the average recovery was 97. 6%(RSD=1. 3%,n=6),97. 0%(RSD=1. 4%,n=6) and 99. 5%(RSD=1. 4%,n=6), respectively. Conclusion:The proposed method is simple, reliable and reproduci-ble, and especially suitable for the detection of synthetic pigments in Chinese patent drugs.

Objective: To investigate the effects of human tissue inhibitor of matelloproteinase 4 (TIMP 4) on vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) migration and the neointimal formation after balloon injury in rats. Methods: The cultured VSMCs were transfected with an adenoviral vector containing human TIMP 4 gene, AdTIMP 4. Effect of TIMP 4 on VSMC migration was investigated by monolayer cell scrape. AdTIMP 4, control adenoviral vector or PBS was transduced into the rat carotid artery from the adventitial after carotid artery injury. Cell number within the internal elastic lamina 4 days after gene transfer was counted and neointima/media area ratio 28 days after gene transfer was calculated. Results: The migration distance of VSMCs infected with AdTIMP 4 was inhibited markedly. Morphometric analysis demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in the number of cells migrated into neointima compared with controls [(32.5?4.8) cells per section, (33.8?7.0) cells per section and (8.2?2.4) cells per section for uninfected, AdGFP treated and AdTIMP 4 treated arteries, respectively]. Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of six-hole moxibustion box therapy for stable chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD).Methods Sixty patients with thoracic facet joint disorder were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 30 cases each. The control group inhaled tiotropium bromide inhalation powder spray and the treatment group received six-hole moxibustion box therapy in addition. The COPD Assessment Test (CAT) score and the dyspnea score were recorded and peripheral blood oxygen saturation was measured in the two groups before and after treatment. The adverse reactions were monitored in the two groups. Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the CAT score and the dyspnea score in the two groups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in the CAT score and the dyspnea score between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in pre-/post- treatment CAT score difference value and dyspnea score difference value between the two groups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in peripheral blood oxygen saturation in the treatment group (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant post-treatment difference in peripheral blood oxygen saturation between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Six-hole moxibustion box therapy plus tiotropium bromide inhalation powder spray is safe and effective in treating stable COPD.

Radiation-induced skin injury refers to the acute and chronic skin damage caused when skin is exposed to radiation. Radiation-induced skin damage may be created by nuclear disaster, radiation accident, radiation therapy, occupational exposure and so on. Approximately 95% of patients receiving radiotherapy will eventually develop into radiation-induced dermatitis during or after the treatment. As a consequence, how to appropriately prevent and remedy radiation-induced skin injury is of great practical significance. According to traditional Chinese medicine, radiation-induced skin injury belongs to fire, heat and toxin, blocking Qi and blood, injuring the muscle surface, affecting the distribution of Qi, blood and body fluid in the body, and damaging the function of viscera. This paper summarizes the cognition and development of traditional Chinese medicine theory of radiation-induced skin injury, as well as the research progress of internal and external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to provide a basis for the research and treatment of radiation-induced skin injury with traditional Chinese medicine.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the efficacy and safety of oxaliplatin,mitomycin and doxorubicin combined with three-di-mensional conformal radiotherapy for patients with lack of blood supply hepatocellular carcinoma. METHODS:62 patients with lack of blood supply hepatocellular carcinoma who lose the opportunity of operation were randomly divided into control group(31 cas-es)and observation group(31 cases). Control group received puncture through the femoral artery by Seldiner,selectively interven-ing in hepatic arteries for DSA angiography,then intravenously injected 130 mg/m2 Oxaliplatin for injection via the catheter,once every 2 weeks+Mitomycin for injection 10 mg,intravenously,once every 1-3 week(s)+Doxorubicin for injection 1.2 mg/kg,once every 3 weeks,then giving Iodinated oil emulsifier and Gelatin sponge particle for hepatic artery embolization,appropriate Iodinat-ed oil emulsifier and Gelatin sponge particle once a month,for 3 times. Observation group was additionally received three-dimen-sional conformal radiotherapy 2 Gy,for 25-30 times with total dose of 50-60 Gy,once every 3 days. They were treated for 3-month. Clinical efficacy,the survival rate and median survival time after the first administration of drug for 1,2 and 3 years in 2 groups were observed,and the incidence of adverse reactions was recorded. RESULTS:The total effective rate,the survival rate and median survival time in 1,2 and 3 years in observation were significantly higher than control group,with statistical signifi-cance (P<0.05). The incidences of neutropenia,thrombocytopenia,hemoglobin decreased and radioactive disease in observation group were significantly higher than control group,with statistical significances(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Oxaliplatin,mitomy-cin and doxorubicin combined with three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy have good efficacy for patients with hepatocellular lack of blood supply carcinoma,also can prolong the survival time,they show poor safety.

ABSTRACT:Objective To investigate the effects of ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids on the proliferation of human gastric cancer cell line AGS and the possible mechanisms.Methods Human gastric cancer line AGS and human microvascular epithelial cell HMEC-1 were treated with different concentrations of docosdhexaenoic acid (DHA)and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).The inhibition of cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay and cell morphology.Flow cytometry was used to detect the cell cycle change.The expressions of mitochondrial respiratory membrane protein complex Ⅰ,Ⅱ and V were analyzed with Western blot.Results DHA and EPA could markedly inhibit the proliferation of AGS in significant time-dependent and concentration-dependent manners (P < 0.05 ). The inhibitory effect of DHA was stronger than that of EPA under the same concentration gradient (P <0.05).The morphological changes of cells were characterized by cell shrinkage and weak adhesion.Flow cytometry showed that AGS cells treated with DHA and EPA were arrested in G0/G1 phase and the proportion of AGS cells in G0/G1 phase increased compared with that of the control group while the proportion of the cells in S phase decreased significantly (P <0.05).Western blot showed after treatment with DHA for 24 h and 48 h,compared with control group,the expressions of mitochondrial respiratory membrane protein complex Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅴ were obviously decreased.The longer effect of DHA,the lower expression of membrane protein complex (P <0.05).DHA had little effect on cell proliferation,morphology or mitochondrial membrane protein complex in HMEC-1 (P >0.05).Conclusion ω-3 PUFAs can selectively inhibit the growth and proliferation of human gastric cancer cell line AGS.These effects may be as-sociated with arresting cell cycle in G0/G1 phase and inhibiting the energy metabolism of AGS cells.

A PP plastic film for food packaging (0. 1 mm) was prepared by adding two antioxidants of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl-phenol(BHT) and pentaerythritol tetrakis ( 3-( 3, 5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl ) propionate)(Irganox 1010) with different concentrations into polypropylene (PP) resin, then mixing extrusion granulate by the double screw plastic extruder and hot pressing the film at 190℃. The migration amount of the two antioxidants in food simulants (95% ethanol) was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with diode array detector (PDA) (detection wavelength is 282 nm). The migration of BHT was detected and Irganox 1010 was not detected. Based on the large amount of experimental data, the migration model was fitted by a software, then the migration model of antioxidant BHT was established, the applicability of the two migration model was compared with the actual data. The results showed that the fitting degree ( R2 ) of Weibull model to the actual migration result was greater than 0. 99 and better than Piringer model. It was found that there was a mathematical relationship as τ≈12. 2 ( L2/D) between parameters of Weibull model and Piringer model.

Objective To study the etiological effect between the spatial variation of lumbar facet orientation and the degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis(DLS)in axial,sagittal and coronal plane.Methods 85 patients with DLS at L4 and 110 controlsreceived X-ray and CT scanning.The facet angle at L4-L5 was measured in axial,sagittal and coronal plane.Results Compared with the control group, the DLS-angles were lesser and the difference between the left and right was greater in axial,coronal plane(P <0.05).But were greater in sagittal plane(P <0.05).Conclusion The DLS-angles are more sagittal in axial plane,more level in sagittal plane and more erect in coronal plane.The change of spatial orientation in the facet joint is one of etiological factors of degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of green tea-based cream at different con- centrations on photoaging and photo-immunosuppression. Methods Twenty healthy female volunteers were enrolled into this study with informed consent. Green tea-based cream with a mass fraction of 2%-5% (pre- pared by adding green tea extracts to an emollient formulation), excipient or green tea extracts alone were applied to six unexposed sites on the back of these volunteers. Thirty minutes later, these treated sites were subjected to solar-simulated ultraviolet irradiation (ssUVR) with a 1.5-fold minimal erythema dose once a day for 4 days. At 6, 24 and 48 hours after the last irradiation, green tea-based cream were applied repeatedly to the corresponding sites. Biopsy specimens were obtained from the seven sites 72 hours following the last irradiation, and immunohistochemical staining was performed to detect cytokeratin 5/6 and 16 expression, as well as the densities of CDla- or HLA-DR-positive cells. Resttlts Green tea-based cream at a mass fraction of 2% to 3% could effectively prevent ssUVR-induced obvious erythema and hyperpigmentation. The posi- tivity (+) rates plus strong positivity (++) rates reached 50% and 25% for CK5/6 in the sites treated with ssUVR only and those irradiated and protected with green tea cream at a mass fraction of 3%, respectively, 69% and 31% in the sites treated with ssUVR only and those irradiated and protected with green tea-based cream at a mass fraction of 2%, respectively. Compared with the control site without irradiation or protec- tion, a decrease over 75% was noticed in the density of epidermal CD1a- or HLA-DR- positive Langerhans cells in the irradiated sites without protection, and green tea-based cream, especially those at a mass fraction of 3%, could effectively inhibit the density decrease. Conclusion Green tea extracts could effectively pro- tect skin from photoaging and photo-immunosuppression with the optimal mass fraction at 2% or 3%.
