1.Analysis of incidence and its influencing factors of allergic dermatosis among college students

During September-October 2012,random cluster sampling method was employed to recruit 871 students from 29 classes at East China Normal University to conduct a questionnaire survey.The overall prevalence of skin diseases was 33.5% (292/871) and those of eczema,urticaria,drug eruption and atopic dermatitis were 16.4% (143/871),9.8% (85/871),2.2% (19/871) and 0.2% (2/871) respectively.These diseases showed no statistically significant gender differences.The prevalence of contact dermatitis was 16.9% (147/871) and there was statistically significant gender difference (P <0.01).
2.Clinical therapeutic effects of solifenacin succinate in the treatment of overactive bladder symptom after benign prostatic hyperplasia operation

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical therapeutic effect and safety of solifenacin suceinate in the treatment of overactive bladder symptom after benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)operation.MethodsAmong 115 patients receiving BPH surgery,58 cases were given solifenacin at bedtime 4 d after surgery for 20 d (treatment group),and 57 cases were given anisodamine after surgery (control group).The urination of patients before and after pulling out catheter were observed,and urodynamic examination,international prostatic symptoms score (IPSS) and overactive bladder symptom score (OABSS) were used to evaluate urination status.ResultsIn treatment group,IPSS and OABSS decreased from 28.3 to 11.3 score and from (14.2±1.2) to (2.9±0.7) score before and after treatment,respectively (P<0.01).In control group,IPSS and OABSS decreased from 27.3 to 11.8 score (P<0.01) and from (14.2±1.6) to (11.3±1.1) score before and after treatment,respectively (P>0.05).ConclusionsThe proper use of solifenacin after prostate operation may release bladder distress and facilitate rehabilitation in patients with overactive bladder symptom.
3.Epidemiological Investigation and Genome Analysis of Duck Circovirus in Southern China

Duck circovirus(DuCV),a potential immunosuppressive virus,was investigated in Southern China from March 2006 to December 2009 by using a polymerase chain reaction(PCR)based method. In this study,a total of 138 sick or dead duck samples from 18 different farms were examined with an average DuCV infection rate of~35%. It was found that ducks between the ages of 40~60 days were more susceptible to DuCV. There was no evidence showing that the DuCV virus was capable of vertical transmission. Farms with positive PCR results exhibited no regularly apparent clinical abnormalities such as feathering disorders,growth retardation or lower-than-average weight. The complete genomes of 9. strains from Fujian Province and 1 from Zhejiang Province were sequenced and analyzed. The 10 DuCV genomes,compared with others genomes downloaded from GenBank,ranged in size from 1988 to 1996 base pairs,with sequence identities ranging from 83.2% to 99.8%. Phylogenetic analysis based on genome sequences demonstrated that DuCVs can be divided into two distinct genetic genotypes,Group I(the Euro-USA lineage)and Group II(the Taiwan lineage),with approximately 10.0% genetic difference between the two types. Molecular epidemiological data suggest there is no obvious difference among DuCV strains isolated from different geographic locations or different species,including Duck,Muscovy duck,Mule duck,Cheery duck,Mulard duck and Pekin duck.

To analyze the potential limitations of hospital-level research projects management by summarizing its performance status from 2008 to 2011,including but not limited to lack of time for conducting research,insufficient financial funds,inadequate funding application,inadequate supervision.Thus,since 2014,our hospital has adopted some new measurements for projects management,including full-time research,hierarchical management,full mobilization,the establishment of reward and punishment measures,which significantly improved the quality of hospital-level research projects,and the rate of longitudinal follow-up project,research enthusiasm of medical staff,and sustainable development of hospital science and technology.

6.Analysis and management of the national natural science foundation of china in a special hospital

Objective To explore the management model of scientific research projects based on the application of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).Methods We retrospectively analyzed the NSFC funding of our hospital during 2009-2017.Results Our hospital sets up the pre—experiment special project of NSFC and "full—time" policy,development translational medicine research center platform,introduce and train scientific talents,strength the delicacy management of scientific research and so on.Through the above measurements,NSFC funding in our hospital was significantly improved.The number of projects approved increased from 1 to 23,and the amount approved increased from 300 thousand to 21 million 350 thousand yuan during the eight yesrs.Conclusions The policy,platform,personnel and delicacy management have effectively improved the quality and quantity of NSFC,and promote the sustainable development of the hospital science and technology.

Goose hemorrhagic polyomavirus (GHPV) is not a naturally occurring infection in geese in China; however, GHPV infection has been identified in Pekin ducks, a domestic duck species. Herein, we investigated the prevalence of GHPV in five domestic duck species (Liancheng white ducks, Putian black ducks, Shan Sheldrake, Shaoxing duck, and Jinyun Sheldrake) in China. We determined that the Jinyun Sheldrake duck species could be infected by GHPV with no clinical signs, whereas no infection was identified in the other four duck species. We sequenced the complete genome of the Jinyun Sheldrake origin GHPV. Genomic data comparison suggested that GHPVs share a conserved genomic structure, regardless of the host (duck or geese) or region (Asia or Europe). Jinyun Sheldrake origin GHPV genomic characterization and epidemiological studies will increase our understanding of potential heterologous reservoirs of GHPV.

8.Methyltransferase like 13 mediates the translation of Snail in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

Methyltransferase like 13 (METTL13), a kind of methyltransferase, is implicated in protein binding and synthesis. The upregulation of METTL13 has been reported in a variety of tumors. However, little was known about its potential function in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) so far. In this study, we found that METTL13 was significantly upregulated in HNSCC at both mRNA and protein level. Increased METTL13 was negatively associated with clinical prognosis. And METTL13 markedly affected HNSCC cellular phenotypes in vivo and vitro. Further mechanism study revealed that METTL13 could regulate EMT signaling pathway by mediating enhancing translation efficiency of Snail, the key transcription factor in EMT, hence regulating the progression of EMT. Furthermore, Snail was verified to mediate METTL13-induced HNSCC cell malignant phenotypes. Altogether, our study had revealed the oncogenic role of METTL13 in HNSCC, and provided a potential therapeutic strategy.

The problems caused by proximal contact loss (PCL) of dental implants have been a mainstream research topic in recent years, and scholars are unanimously committed to analyzing their causes and related factors, aiming to identify solutions to the problems related to PCL. The effects of the anterior component of force (ACF), the lifelong remolding of the adult craniofacial jaw and alveolar socket, and the osseointegration characteristics of dental implants are the main causes of PCL. On the one hand, the closing movement of the mandible causes the ACF of the tooth to move through the posterior molar cusp. Moreover, drifting between the upper and lower posterior teeth and mandibular anterior teeth can cause the anterior teeth of the upper and lower jaws to be displaced labially. On the other hand, reconstruction of the jaw, alveolar socket and tooth root, the forward horizontal force of the masticatory muscles, the dynamic component of the jaw and the forward force generated by the oblique plane of the tooth cusp can cause the natural tooth to experience near-middle drift. Additionally, natural teeth can shift horizontally and vertically and rotate to accommodate remodeling of the stomatognathic system and maintain oral function. Nevertheless, the lack of a natural periodontal membrane during implant osseointegration, the lack of a physiological basis for near-medium drift, the small average degree of vertical motion and the integrated silence of dental implants without the overall drift characteristics of natural teeth increases the probability of PCL. The high incidence of PCL is clearly associated with the duration of prosthesis delivery and the mesial position; but it is also affected by the magnitude of the bite force, occlusion, the adjacent teeth, restoration design, implant location, jaw, and patient age and sex. PCL has shown a significant correlation with food impaction, but not a one-to-one correspondence, and did not meet the necessary and sufficient conditions. PCL is also associated with peri-implant lesions as well as dental caries. PCL prevention included informed consent, regular examinations, selection of retention options, point of contact enhancement, occlusal splints, and the application of multipurpose digital crowns. Management of the PCL includes adjacent contact point additions, orthodontic traction, and occlusal adjustment. Existing methods can solve the problem of food impaction in the short term with comprehensive intervention to seek stable, long-term effects. Symmetric and balanced considerations will expand the treatment of issues caused by PCL.
