China Pharmacist 2015;(8):1387-1389
To develop a determination method forβ,β'-dimethylacrylalkannin and salvianolic acid B in Shangyangyu ointment by solid phase extraction coupled with HPLC. Methods:Solid phase extraction coupled with HPLC was used with a C18 (250 mm × 4. 6 mm, 5 μm) column, the mobile phase was acetonitrile-water-methanol-formic acid (700∶300∶30∶15) with the flow rate of 1. 0 ml·min-1. For β, β'-dimethylacrylalkannin, the detection wavelength was 275nm, and for salvianolic acid B, the detection wavelength was 286nm. Under the above conditions, the contents of main componentsβ,β'-dimethylacrylalkannin and salvianolic acid B in Shangyangyu ointment were determined. Results:The linear relationship was promising when the concentration ofβ,β'-dimethyl-acrylshikonin was within the range of 23. 780-118. 900μg·ml-1(r=0. 999 5) with the recovery of 99. 5% (RSD=1. 07%) and that of salvianolic acid B was within the range of 19.840-99.200 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 3) with the recovery of 98.2% (RSD=2.1%). Conclusion:The method is simple, accurate and fast with good separation, which can be used in the quality control of Shangyangyu ointment.

Objective To discuss the application of bare-stent“chimney”technique in treating aortic dissection associated with left common carotid rupture, and to evaluate its therapeutic effect. Methods The clinical data of 7 patients with aortic dissection accompanied with left common carotid rupture, who were admitted to Qinghai Provincial People’s Hospital during the period from February 2012 to March 2014 to receive endovascular isolation operation treatment with bare-stent “chimney” technique, were retrospectively analyzed. When the rupture of aortic dissection was occluded with covered-stent, the left common carotid rupture was isolated with “chimney”bare-stent to reconstruct the blood flow of left common carotid artery. CT angiography was performed 2 weeks after the operation to check if there was any complication such as endoleak, stent migration, etc. Results The technical success rate of endovascular isolation operation was 100%. No type I endoleak occurred. The patients were followed up for 1-13 months, the covered stent in the aorta was in good position, and the “chimney” bare-stent in the left common carotid artery was patent. No complications such as endoleak, stent migration, etc. occurred. Conclusion Bare-stent“chimney”technology can provide treatment opportunity for the patients suffering from left common carotid artery rupture accompanied by aortic dissection; the rupture can be completely obstructed and the blood flow can be reconstructed. The short-term effect is satisfactory, although the long-term effect needs to be further studied.

Objective To investigate the clinical application value of the real-time shear wave elastography (SWE)technology in the curative evaluation on Hashimoto′s thyroiditis(HT)patients treated with prednisone. Methods Applying SWE technology to determine the Young′s modulus value of thyroid tissue of 45 HT cases with subclinical hypothyroidism before and one month after treatment. Results 1 month after prednisone treat-ment,the Young′s modulus value and serum thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),thyroid-peroxidase antibody (TPOAb)and thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb)were observed significantly changed before and one month after treatment(P < 0.05,respectively). The various modulus value was found reduced with different degrees, but the serum TSH was shown back to normal after the treatment with prednisone. Conclusions By quantitative determi-nation of Young′s modulus value, the hardness of organization information was obtained objectively, which could provide more meaningful reference basis to evaluate the treatment of prednisone for HT.

OBJECTIVETo observe the rule of the change of apoptosis and proliferation of pulmonary tissue cells in rats with inhalation injury, so as to explore the significance of apoptosis in the repairing process of pulmonary tissue injury.
METHODSSmoke inhalation injury model was established in rats. The rats were randomly divided into normal control (NC) and smoke inhalation injury (SI) groups. TUNEL and immunohistochemistry methods were employed to determine the changes in cellular apoptotic and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) indices of the pulmonary tissue at different postburn time points.
RESULTS(1) The apoptotic index increased at 2 postburn hours (PBHs) and remained at high levels thereafter. (2) The PCNA index increased at 12 PBHs, reaching top level at 3 postburn days (PBDs), remaining kept at relativly high level later.
CONCLUSIONApoptosis not only played roles in the early pulmonary injury after smoke inhalation injury, but also participated in the repair and modification of the proliferated tissue during later reconstruction.

Objective:To analyze the value of minute ventilation to carbon dioxide production slope (VE/VCO 2 slope) combined with peak systolic blood pressure (SBP) in predicting prognosis for patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods:A total of 170 patients with CHF who visited the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center of Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University and completed cardiopulmonary exercise test from March 2007 to December 2018 were enrolled in the study. The clinical data, cardiopulmonary exercise testing results and follow-up information of patients were collected to explore the predictors of all-cause mortality in patients with CHF.Results:The median follow-up time was 647 (182-1 764) days. All-cause death occurred in 34 patients. Compared with surviving patients, the proportion of diabetes and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor/angiotensin Ⅱ receptor blocker (ACEI/ARB) use in fatal patients was significantly higher ( P<0.01). The VE/VCO 2 slope and peak SBP*VE/VCO 2 in the fatal patients were significantly higher, and the peak oxygen consumption (peak VO 2) was lower than those in the surviving patients ( P<0.01). The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of VE/VCO 2 slope and peak SBP*VE/VCO 2 in predicting all-cause mortality in patients with CHF were 0.648 ( P=0.008) and 0.681 ( P=0.001), respectively; the optimal thresholds were >40.95 ( P=0.008) and > 5 423.50 mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa, P=0.006), the sensitivity was 0.559 and 0.588, and the specificity was 0.728 and 0.735, respectively. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that after adjusting for age, gender, diabetes and ACEI/ARB use, VE/VCO 2 slope ( HR=2.12, P=0.036) and peak SBP*VE/VCO 2 ( HR=2.42, P=0.016) were independent risk factors for all-cause mortality in patients with CHF. Conclusion:Compared to the traditional index VE/VCO 2 slope, a novel index peak SBP* VE/VCO 2 provides a relatively better predictive value for all-cause death of CHF patients.

E-cigarettes have gained considerable popularity worldwide recently, which have also drawn the attention of adolescents and pregnant women. However, recent studies have uncovered the negative effects of e-cigarettes on our cardiovascular system, respiratory system, nervous system, blood system and so on. Furthermore, several studies indicate that e-cigarettes can significantly impair users’ reproductive ability. In this review, we collected the most recent studies on the effects of e-cigarettes on reproductive system based on human studies, animal studies and in vitro preclinical studies. In addition, the review shows the urgency of setting e-cigarettes exposure standards. As a result, we recommend setting strict limits on the production and sales of e-cigarettes, thus encouraging consumers to consume reasonably.
