Chinese Journal of Urology 2001;0(10):-
Objective To evaluate the preoperative diagnosis and treatment of primary non-specific ureteritis, and to better understand this disease. Methods Three cases of primary non-specific ureteritis (1 man and 2 women)were reported.Their age was 28,38,68 years, respectively. One ease was found to have hydronephrosis on B-ultrasound at physical examination with no symptoms, and 2 had abdominal pain. The lesions were detected in lower part of the ureter in 2 cases, and in middle in I.The patients were diag- nosed preoperatively with combined use of MRU and ureteroscopy.Partial resection of the diseased part of the ureter was performed in all the cases. Results Pathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of non-spe- cific ureteritis.Microscopy showed necrotic tissue and inflammatory cell infiltration of ureteral mucosa, dilated and congested blood vessels, hypertrophic muscular layer, and proliferation of fibrous tissue.During the fol- low-up of 2 years, the patients had no symptoms and were free from hydronephrosis. Conclusions The eti- ology of primary non-specific ureteritis is unclear, and no typical symptoms can be found clinically.Combined use of MRU and ureteroscopy is helpful for definite diagnosis of the disease.Partial resection of the diseased part of the ureter has good results.

China Occupational Medicine 2022;52(04):439-
Abstract:
Occupational epidemiology aims to explore the effect of occupational hazards on the health of workers and understand
,
their mechanisms. It plays an important role in occupational health and occupational medicine.Currently occupational
, ,
exposures in the workplace are complex and diverse and multiple factors affect workers´ health at the same time. Therefore it
is important to elucidate the pathogenesis of occupational disease caused by occupational hazards and implement early
- -
intervention. System epidemiology collects data on multi level exposure and multi omics information to conduct network analysis
-
on the relationship amongrisk factors. and to study the mechanisms of exposures and health outcomes based on multi level data.
, , , ,
Using the study design of system epidemiology occupational environmental lifestyle and social factors are combined as a
,
system to evaluate the health of workers which can better evaluate the adverse health effects caused by occupational hazards.
- , ,
The studies base on multi omics design will explore the pathogenesis of occupational diseases at the molecular cellular and
tissue levels to evaluate the impact of occupational hazards on workers´ health and to explore interventions from multiple
-
perspectives to reduce the occurrence of occupational or work related diseases.

OBJECTIVE:
To discuss the efficacy and safety of simultaneous bilateral endoscopic surgery (SBES) for bilateral upper urinary tract calculi, and to summarize the initial experience.
METHODS:
Patients diagnosed with bilateral upper urinary tract calculi who underwent SBES in the Department of Urology, Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were enrolled retrospectively. The demographic and clinical data of the patients were recorded, and the operation status, stone free rate (SFR) and peri-operative complications were analyzed. The primary end point was SFR, and second end point was peri-operative complications.
RESULTS:
A total of 23 patients underwent SBES, of which SBES was completed in 19 patients (12 males, and 7 females). The mean age was (41.3±12.0) years. Fourteen patients underwent modified supine position surgery and 4 patients in prone split-leg position. There was no statistical difference in the demographic and baseline clinical data of the patients in different positions. One patient underwent right percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and left endoscopic combined intra-renal surgery (ECIRS) in the prone split-leg position, while 18 patients received simul-taneous surgery with PCNL and contralateral retrograde intra-renal surgery (RIRS). The mean anesthesia and operation time was (128.7±26.5) min and (70.7±20.3) min, respectively, which was significantly longer in the patients with prone split-leg position than in the patients with modified supine position, anesthesia time in the patients with prone split-leg position and modified supine position: (148.4±20.4) min vs. (121.6±25.3) min, respectively, t=-2.121, P=0.049, while the operation time in the patients with prone split-leg position and modified supine position: (86.4±21.1) min vs. (65.1±17.4) min, respectively, t=-2.222, P=0.040. There was no significant difference between the two groups in indwelling of nephrostomy [prone split-leg position and modified supine position: (2.6±0.9) d vs. (2.1±1.0) d, respectively; t=-0.880, P=0.391] and the length of hospital stay [prone split-leg position and modified supine position: (6.0±2.7) d vs. (5.2±1.8) d, respectively; t=-0.731, P=0.475]. One month after the operation, the SFR was 78.9%, and 3 patients had minor peri-operative complications (Clavien-Dindo grades Ⅰ/Ⅱ) without any serious complications (Clavien-Dindo grades Ⅲ/Ⅳ/Ⅴ).
CONCLUSION
The simultaneous bilateral endoscopic surgery would decrease the operation time and anesthesia exposure under the premise of ensuring the SFR, which is helpful to reduce the risk of peri-operative complications, especially to the patients who can not tolerate the second-stage or long-time operation.

Objective To study the genotype of the thyroid hormone receptor ? (THRB) gene in a patient with thyroid hormone resistance syndrome. Methods The peripheral blood samples of the patient and his parents were collected, then DNA was isolated. PCR and direct sequencing techniques were performed to determine if there were mutations in their THRB gene. Results No mutation was found in exon 1-9. There was a point mutation in exon 10 of THRB which is a T to C transition in nucleotide 1658 resulting in the replacement of the normal Val (GTG) with an Ala (GCG) (V458A). The mutation was located in exon 10 of THRB gene and was a heterozygote. No mutation was found in THRB gene of his parents. Conclusion The gene diagnosis confirms that the patient has a mutation V458A located in the ligand binding area of THRB.

Objective To evaluate the differentiation-inducing effect of phenylacetate on pancreatic carcinoma cells and underlying mechanism of RNA editing deaminase in cell proliferation and differentiation. Methods The effect of phenylacetate on cell proliferation and cell cycle were investigated in cultured pancreatic carcinoma BXPC-3 cell lines by methylthiazoletetrazolium( MTT) assay, and flow cytometry. The effect of phenylacetate on the expression of RNA editing deaminase (ADAR2 mRNA) in BXPC-3 cells and fresh pancreatic carcinoma specimen was evaluated by RT-PCR. Results ADAR1 mRNA expression was positive in human pancreatic carcinoma tissues and BXPC-3 cell lines. After application of 1.0 and 2.0 mmol/L phenylacetate for 24 h and 72 h, BXPC-3 cell growth inhibition rate increased, G0/G1 phase cells decreased, S phase cells increased, ADAR2 mRNA expression decreased ( P < 0.01 ). Conclusion ADAR2 mRNA played a vital role of regulation in the process of pancreatic carcinoma cells growth and differentiation. Phenylacetate could regulate the proliferation and differentiation of pancreatic carcinoma cells through the regulation of ADAR2 mRNA expression.

Microbiology 2008;0(11):-
Organic solvent tolerant microorganism(OSTM) is a novel extremophile and it hasn't been systematically studied until 1980s.Relying on certain mechanisms, the OSTM is able to effectively de-fend and decrease the toxicity from organic solvents, which enable the OSTM to be potentially applied in the industrial fields such as whole-cell catalysis and environmental treatment, etc. The comprehen-sively understanding of the mechanisms involved in organic solvent tolerance of OSTM could be com-bined with genetic engineering in order to modify and optimize the various specifications of OSTM,and further broaden its application in other industrial areas.Latest studies on the tolerant mechanisms of OSTM,in this paper, will be reviewed from four aspects such as vesicle exocytosis and changes of phos-pholipid composition in membrane, etc.Besides, the application of OSTM in whole-cell catalysis and other fields will be introduced.
