Purpose :To investigate the relationship of peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subsets with the acuterejection or severe CMV infection in transplanted patients. Methods :T-lymphocytes subsets of peripheral bloodwere consecutively detected by using mice-verse-human T-lymphocytes subsets monoclonal antibody-OKT serialsand flow cytometer. Results:The difference of CD4/CD8 ratios between the no acute rejection group and the acuterejection group, or between the acute rejection remission group and the resistant acute rejection group was signif-icant ( P ＜0.05); In patients with intensive CMV infection, the CD4/CD8 ratios were converse to the acute re-jection group. Conclusions:These results indicated that monitoring of peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subsets wasof much benefit to early diagnosis and differential diagnosis of acute rejection of intensive CMV infection and rea-sonable treatment.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the efficacy of allogenic strut bone graft and instrumentation for anterior cervical fusion following subtotal corpectomy and decompression in cervical myelopathy.

METHODSThirty-five patients with cervical myelopathy were treated by the procedure of allogenic strut bone graft and instrumentation for anterior cervical fusion following subtotal corpectomy and decompression. The preoperative average JOA scale score was 8.7 point (Range 4-15).

RESULTSSixty-nine vertebral were corpectomized and 104 levels were decompressed and fused with an average of 3 levels. Among the cases, 1 vertebrae was corpectomized in 7 cases, 2 vertebra in 22 cases, 3 vertebra in 6 cases. There were no surgery-related complications. The patients were followed up from 11-37 months, with an average of 17.4 months. No plate breakage, screw loose, graft infection, lysis and absorption was discovered. The fusion rate was 100%, the average time of fusion was 9.3 months (range from 6-15 months). The postoperative average JOA scale score was 14.8 point (range 7-17), the recovery ratio was 73.5% and the excellent and good results was 82.8%.

CONCLUSIONSThe use of allogenic strut bone graft and instrumentation for anterior cervical fusion following subtotal corpectomy and decompression in cervical myelopathy may not only simplify surgical procedure and decrease injuries and complications, but also the fusion is satisfactory and reliable.

p53 (encoded by TP53) is undoubtedly one of the most extensively studied genes and proteins. It is a highly potent transcription factor which, under normal circumstances, is maintained at low level. Both genotoxic and non-genotoxic stresses can induce p53 stabilized leading to changes in the expression of p53-responsive genes. The biological outcome inducing this pathway can be either growth arrest and apoptosis or senescence to maintain the integrity of the genome or to delete the damaged cells. The biochemical activity of p53 itself and the cellular environment govern the choice between these outcomes in a cell type- and stress-specific manner. So, p53 is a pivotal tumour suppressor and a mainstay of our body's natural anticancer defence. This review could provide some useful information for further study on the mechanisms of tumorigenesis and its progression, and also could contribute to the discovery of antitumor agents.

Objective:To describe the prevalence of anxiety disorders and distribution in Chifeng City,and explore the related risk factors and health service seeking.Methods:Individuals aged 18 years and over were sampled by stratified,probability-proportional-to-size sampling,randomized cluster sampling in Chifeng City through November,2010 to April,2011.All respondents were interviewed by trained interviewers face-to-face.The Composite International Diagnostic Interview-3.0 Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CIDI-3.0-CAPI) was used to diagnose anxiety disorders according to the criteria and definition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,Fourth Edition (DSM-Ⅳ).Single and multivariate analysis were applied to explore risk factors of anxiety disorder.Results:Totally 4528 subjects were interviewed with CIDI-3.0-CAPI.The 12-month prevalence rate of anxiety disorders was significantly higher in rural area than in urban area (4.62％ vs.2.61％,P ＜0.01).The rate was significantly higher in female than in male (4.92％ vs.2.82％,P ＜0.01).The rate was significantly higher in the unmarried,the divorced and the widowed than in the married (5.91％ vs.3.70％,P ＜0.01).Logistic regression analysis indicated that dwelling in urban areas and education level of 7-9 years were the protective factors of anxiety disorders,while being female,unmarried,divorced or widowed were the risk factors of anxiety disorders.It was found that only 3.1％ of the patients with anxiety disorders reported to seek help from psychiatrists.Conclusion:The anxiety disorder is a common mental disorder in Chifeng City,while few people with anxiety disorders seek mental health professionals.Therefore,it should be paid attentions to anxiety disorder,especially in rural area,women,and low educated people for enhancing mental health service and knowledge popularization.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the influence of visual attention in visual evoked potential (VEP) examination. METHODS: The pattern visual evoked potential (PVEP) and flash visual evoked potential (FVEP) were used to examine 110 normal subjects whose visual acuity or corrected visual acuity is in the range of 4.8-5.2, and age between 20 to 30 years old. In PVEP inspection, subjects were asked to watch with three ways, to stare at the central screen (at the same time count silently the number of alternating of black and white squares to improve the subjects' attention), to stare at the central screen at the same time thinking other things, to look sideways (the left eye stared at the left bottom corner of the screen or the right eye stared at the right one). In FVEP inspection, subjects were checked with eyes open and closed respectively. The latency and amplitude of P100 wave were recorded. The data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 13.0 software. RESULTS In PVEP inspection, the latency and amplitude of P100 wave were statistically different among three watching ways. In FVEP inspection, latency and amplitude of P100 wave were statistically different between eyes open and closed group. CONCLUSION Although the visual evoked potential test is an objective electrophysiological visual function test, it is susceptible to the influence of various subjective factors such as visual attention. It should arise the attention of forensic experts.

OBJECTIVETo explore the morbidity, burdens caused and risk factors of injuries among children and to provide information for policy making on prevention.

METHODSBy PPS sampling method, we selected 28 000 households in Beijing and using a questionnaire developed by UNICEF, TASC and China CDC.

RESULTSThe morbidity of child injury in Beijing was 2.25%, higher than that of adults (1.56%) with 6-9 year group the highest (2.83% ). The morbidity of boys was 3.04% higher than that of girls (1.37%). Among the 7 death cases, 3 were caused by injury(2 RTA, 1 drowning). The three leading causes of injuries were fall, animal bite and road traffic accident in children. Among children aged 0-5 years, fall, animal and burn/machine injuries were the leading causes. Among children aged 0-5 years, the leading causes were hurt by animals, fall and RTA with the leading causes as fall, sprain and RTA. The average medical cost of injury cases was 1617.57 Yuan. There were 3500 children (injured orphan) whose parents were injured leading to death or disability in Beijing in 2003.

CONCLUSIONInjury was the leading cause of child deaths in Beijing with children of 6-9 years old having the highest morbidity with RTA the most severe type of injuries in Beijing which affects both children and their parents.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the allele frequencies of 6 STR loci (D12S358, D12S1675, D12S1663, D12S1697, D12S16725 and D12S1613) on chromosome 12 among KBD patients and residents in the KBD and non-KBD areas.

METHODSEDTA-blood samples were collected from 146 unrelated Chinese Han individuals in Shaanxi Province including 57 KBD patients, 48 control subjects living in the Kashing-Beck disease(KBD) area and 48 in the non-KBD area. The DNA samples were extracted and amplified by PCR, and the PCR products were analyzed by ABI 3100 Genetic Analyzer.

RESULTSIn KBD patients, the allele number for the 6 STR loci (D12S358, D12S1675, D12S1663, D12S1697, D12S16725 and D12S1613) was 7, 7, 7, 10, 12 and 8, and the genotype number were 13, 12, 9, 17, 19 and 10, respectively; in the residents in KBD area, the allele number was 7, 5, 7, 9, 13 and 9, and the genotype number 12, 10, 12, 19, 16 and 8; in residents in non-KBD area, the allele number was 7, 5, 5, 12, 8 and 9, and the genotype number 17, 16, 8, 22, 14 and 8. There were significant differences in the allele frequencies in the D12S1725 loci between KBD patients and residents living in KBD area (P=0.0119) and the non-KBD area (P=0.0050), but no significant difference in other 5 loci among the 3 groups.

CONCLUSIONKBD patients have significantly different allele distribution patterns in the D12S1725 loci from the control subjects.

OBJECTIVETo review the treatment of repair gastroschisis with autogenous umbilical cord in 13-year and evaluate its effect.

METHODSTwenty-two newborns who underwent the repair gastroschisis with autogenous umbilical cord between 1992 and 2005. The physical growth, intelligence measuring, area of operation in abdomen in the survived 18 cases were observed and followed-up.

RESULTSEighteen patients recovered uneventfully, survival rate is 82%, their growth is well. They all developed incisional hernia near the operation, 9 cases recovered himself, 2 cases was operated to repair the abdominal hernia, 7 cases is under observed.

CONCLUSIONSThe material is adopted easily in the operating, autogenous umbilical cord is elastic tissue and no toxicity could relax the abdominal press effectively after the operation, the survival rate is high.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T (Treg) cells in patients with ITP.

METHODSFlow cytometry was used to examine the number of CD4+ CD25+, CD4+ CD25 high, CD4+ Foxp3+ and CD4+ CD25+ Foxp3+ T cells. The level of Foxp3 mRNA expression was analyzed by realtime quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) . CD4+ CD25 high T cells was cocultured with CD4+ CD25 - T cells from patients or controls for assessing the regulatory properties of CD4+ CD25 Treg cells.

RESULTSThe proportion of CD4+ CD25+ T cells in the peripheral blood of patients with ITP [(15.64 +/- 5.82) %] was significantly higher than that in normal control group [(9.30 +/- 3.95)%] (P <0.01). There was no significant difference in the percentages of CD4+ CD25 high T cells between ITP patients and controls [(1.53 +/- 0.66)% versus (1.36 +/- 0.55)% (P = 0.317)]. But the number of CD4 Foxp 3+ T cells and CD4 + CD25+ Foxp3+ T cells in patients were significantly lower than that in control group (P <0.01). The expression of Foxp3 mRNA reduced (P < 0.01) and the suppressive activity of CD4+ CD25 high T cells is lower than that of healthy controls (P <0.01).

CONCLUSIONIn patients with ITP, both the number and immuno-regulative function of CD4+ CD25+ Treg cells are reduced.
